Dude have you seen the decks played recently? Omniscience is PLAYABLE standard is so slow. This is exactly what the format needed to get back to a good place where you cant durdle for 10 years with sphinx(skullcrack) and farseeks. You WILL lose turn 5 in GTC if you don't have a really strong anti aggro strat. And that is good to keep these control/combo decks honest.
I agree... I think this charm was VERY pushed. Surprise the most aggro guild gets the most love. Haven't we learned yet? Wizards wants us running dudes at each other. No room for control or combo... just aggro.

People need to realize they are just balancing the format out a bit... it was far far on the slow control side before, now it will shift back to a nice medium. Sphinx will lose some of its luster, as will thragtusk, and aggro will be a bit stronger. Tons of the cards printed show that WOTC thought they should speed up the format a bit and make the control decks have to work for it.
Milkshake: If you do nothing. There just won't be farseek to lantern to rangers path to revelation to omniscience anymore I'm sorry to say. Omnidoor can't survive if Boros and BR(which could/should splash this even) get faster/more resilient.

That's funny because since the format is so durdly, RDW is actually good right now.
Flame Rift is already a card. what, being a sorcery is the drawback? it's a legacy burn deck staple.
I do agree for the most part though. this is way too good.
What were the other alternatives to flame rift? Just sacrificing two mountains or working only if they run nonbasics. Maybe this won't be shoehorned into legacy RDW sort of decks, but this is like goblin guide or lightning bolt or mana leak in standard- clearly pushed cards that *will* warp the metagame, and this one does it in the most aggro loving control hating way possible. Its an auto-4-of in every deck of its color and likely to enable archetypes and might even see that legacy impact, who knows
The pendulum has swung far indeed
/e oh and if you didn't understand me, flame rift is exactly what I was referencing- its double edged and hits you, and yes its sorcery speed, but its notably got a huge drawback for a 2 mana 4 damage card, yet sees legacy play. This is 4 damage for 2 mana at instant speed and the only drawback is the coloring.

On the backs of thragtusk and relevation, but only with midrange aggro supplanting the ridiculous zendikar speedy gonzales meta
Now those cards have gotten hate, and we're swinging right back to the over the top 4-5 turn kill aggro dominates everything meta.
Where is the healthy, balanced trifecta of combo, aggro & control?

Oh pls, 5 hours ago ppl questioned if Boros would even be worth it. We get two decent cards for it that are "shocker" designed to make it viable and boom "everything is aggro, wtf wizards".
Your as bad as Timmies who were whining over the pong reprint.

There is buried treasure everywhere...in a graveyard.
best charm ever, i simply love it. good thing i already pre-ordered some sacred foundrys for 6€ before people start to play boros and they rise to 8-9€.
I'm pretty sure Sphinx was a mistake... I don't think they thought that card through at all. And Thragtusk is an anti-wrath big dude.
I think if they print more good aggro cards come GTC it won't be near as powerful as it was before. It will be hard to sphinx for more then 3-4 against the new aggro brews that may be coming.
best charm of gatecrash, and I do not care what the others are, there is no way this beast is getting bested. I will go so far as to say this is the best of all 10 charms, it's so perfectly focused on what it wants to do, that is help solve an aggro decks problems: not enough reach, killing blockers, and sweepers.
Eww, this charm is ridiculously pushed. If Naya was looking good before, it now feels completely insane. All of these modes are worth the two mana and they do all the things you want an aggressive type charm to do. Just... Ugh...

Lol, this is going to keep combo honest, huh? Lololol.
Dude, I'm just going to say it. This card is overpowered.
Compare it to the other charms... Izzet Charm... half-Shock, Spell Pierce, and Careful Study (instant) for UR. Each of the effects are worth one mana or less. That card is played in Modern and it's quite good.
Boros Charm, on the other hand....
1. We don't currently have a 4 damage to a player for two mana. Oh wait, we do, Flame Rift. That's sorcery speed, hurts you too, and does nothing else.
2. Permanents you control are indestructible this turn. Permanents. In your face, Armageddon. This is also a two mana answer to Day of Judgment and the like. Two mana is a fair rate to dodge a vital four mana removal spell... and this card does MORE!
3. Double Cleave is two mana.
The first mode is worth more than two mana since it's instant speed and doesn't have a drawback. The second is easily worth two mana, probably worth more because it's "permanents" and not just creatures. The third mode is worth two mana. 3+2+2= this is arguably worth seven mana, not including the fact it's all on one card. And you cast it for WR at instant speed.
I feel like I'm getting hit over the head with this one. It's too freaking good.
Jank cards get spoiled, everyone jumps the wagon, praise it, make up decks or combos.
Now good quality cards like this one come along and the level of cheers is at its lowest... I'm starting to believe most people on these forums are just uncreative netdeckers...

Great preview, a really nice toolbox card for aggro decks. From my perspective a someone who mostly plays multiplayer, the three modes offer; a way of stealing the occasional kill, a way of avoiding marching the aggro force into one of the all too frequent board wipes, and a sneaky damage doubler. Worth it for the first two. The third is icing on a cake of awesome.
Way better than Brave the Elements, and that card saw play...This thing makes your squad bulletproof. Oh yeah and it kills stuff too...Geez, clearly the best of the charms thus far.

Crap. Should I be ashamed that I netdeck? I guess I'll just have to wish and hope to be as cool as nonnetdeckers someday.
Kills opponents or their planeswalkers. Saves your own walkers.. and everything else. Instant speed double strike is a really powerful combat trick.
I was afraid that WotC was going to make this one really sub-par, fight against powercreep and all that. Am glad that they made something that is extremely playable instead!

I thought that's exactly what they didn't want.
Well, that's just stupid.

If you don't think they thought it through you don't follow what Developers say. They had a lot of arguments about it.

They want a balanced format with both control and aggro. It makes them the most money. Any statements to the contrary are just ignorant.
Note: I'm not calling any individual person ignorant, just any person who may hold that belief.
