Perhaps the Gruul will get multiple cheap mana creatures (with abilities that give you some mana ala Arbor Elf, the Gruul hybrid etc). That'd make this a bit better. The randomness fits with the idea of the Clans being a bunch of scattered tribes with ties to red mana.
This thing is like green sun zenith on crack, sure it'll cost a extra red but you'll get to drop another one next turn.
Also with burning tree emmisary this card grabs a army of 2/2's on turn three (provided a mana dork too)
The wording is funny but its because they had to. Look at Gifts Ungiven, if it was worded that way you could just reveal one creature and not give up extra information.
The wording is funny, but it makes the card work exactly as they want.
why couldn't it have been, "Search your library for three creature cards with different names and reveal them. Choose one at random at put it into your hand. Shuffle the rest into your library."
that would do the same thing as the card does now, I don't understand the difference. I guess it's strictly better as printed, because you can use it as "RG: shuffle your library", but who cares.
I absolutely hate randomness in cards.
When I cast a spell, I want it to do the same thing, every time. There should be no chance that a card would sabotage itself.
I will never play this.
I love tutors, and I love creatures. Can't wait to not get my choice of Huntmaster, Thundermaw, and whatever RG beatstick is in this set. Gonna be sweet.

When you search a hidden zone, you can fail to find a number of cards. You can choose a number less than the number printed on the card.
Seems like this would be wonderful in a Ceta deck in standard (RUG for those unfamiliar with Ceta).
Well think about it. With evolve your not exactly caring about what exactly you get so long as it can further your evolution goals and make your board presence stronger.
Example:
1) Signal the Clan
2) Pick: Experiment One, Cloudfin Raptor, Zameck Guildmage
3) Roll a 1d3
4)
Dice Roller1 D3 rolled
1
5) Zameck Guildmage remains in the hand, shuffle back Cloudfin Raptor and Experiment One into your deck.
If this is done on turn 3, you have a good chance in that scenario that 2/3rds of the time you can also cast your obtained 1cmc creature to further your own goals.

but it will.
you pick the creatures. so don't go and pick storm crow, chimney imp, and thundermaw hellkite.
Is this supposed to be one of those examples for bad cards existing to make other cards good?
While the old adage of "well, at least it is good in EDH" is code for "the card is bad", this card actually is decent in EDH (and making it not such a skill tester as many think this card is). There is no such thing as too many tutors for Commander.

Because then it would just be Eladamri's Call. What reason to you have to pick a second and third card?
Okay... Thragtusk, Huntmaster, and thundermaw in standard...
Ummm goyf, bob, and snap in modern
And if played in legacy (probly not) some more crazy stuff
While this card isn't amazing, I think most people are overlooking the fact that the randomness cuts both ways in this case. Your opponent gets to see what all 3 cards are, but not which one makes it into your hand. That can be very important when working with bloodrush cards.

Because then you could find only one creature and fail to find the other 2. That way it'd always end up as a pumped up Worldly Tutor.

This is quite true. Plus if you know how to use it, randomness can be used to your advantage.
The effect could prove so discombobulating to combo players, in particularly, they may fizzle and run away screaming. "From that day the Curse of the Plateau was upon me, and I found every hand I ever pull from a combo deck is a mulligan."

I don't see why people are disliking the random effect. If it weren't random this card would be likely overpowered. Besides, you can totally just pick three good creatures anyways. Let's see, do I want Thragtusk, Restoration Angel, or Huntmaster of the Fells? Any will suffice, because they're all pretty damn good.

Search for your win con at the end of your opponenets turn so you can cast it on your turn.
Put it in your hand and shuffle your library.
Win game.
right?
Right so long as the other two you pick also have board presence. If you cannot or did not it will prove problematic if you get a Lawnmower Elves for instance instead of your win condition.

Yeah, fact is I've been dying for a tutor so badly I've tired making decks where Mwonvuli Beast Tracker adds stuff directly to your hand. Of course I'll play this. Standard is pretty much going to be 4/5C goodstuff.dec soon. Whatever you tutor, it's going to be good stuff.

Well it is partially red, and it tutors. Random makes sense and as above staement states, it can be used to your advantage.
