Orzhov is betraying Obzedat! First the Blind Obedience, now a reliable instant speed removal that can deal with him.
But who cares?
It also fun to play with Edge of the Divinity, i really like this card for casual and i always sad when i got 2 for 1 on it.
The third mode is also fun, but it could be at last 2 CMC, to bring back blood artist and the High Priest.
I don't know about you, but I'd rather that the people who could stop me were within my own organization instead of out walking the streets.
In all, this thing is a minor Raymond Scott composition that will work its way into many c
In all, this thing is a minor powerhouse, as charms go. I'm a little unsure about that last effect. Yeah, it's instant speed reanimation, but only CMC 1? What's even in Standard right now that this would benefit from?
Pretty garbage in limited, all abilities except for destroy creature are really narrow. 1cmc return? Unless you pull some good 1cmc in a draft or have an aura-focused deck, I don't see it being very useful. Would go nicely in my B/W mimic deck with edge of the divinity, but I'd put this in gruul-charm tier.
I think you're too hung up on the first and third ability of the charm. It doesn't matter that they are narrow, the destroy creature mode is premium removal and single handedly makes this a very high pick. Vendetta had nearly the same effect, and was insane in RoE limited, and I doubt that this will be much different.
Seems like it could be cool in Modern Martyr of Sands, since it can make use of the third ability, and hopefully has a bit of life it can afford to lose to the removal, also counting for white is great too.

That's simply false. "Destroy target creature" at instant speed for two mana is always playable. I'd even be willing to splash for it if I drafted a more control-type Dimir build.
How can someone call it the best kill spell in Standard when you often need to kill stabilize versus Hellkite's at minimal amounts of life?
Because that is one narrow example and the spell serves many different functions... The instant speed Proclamation of Rebirth effect is particularly powerful.
If I see R/B or RDW across the table I will be sideboarding this for Ultimate Price, but chances are Blind Obedience will hose those decks pretty damn hard...

How is killing a Thundermaw Hellkite a narrow example of what removal needs to do in Standard?
Also disagree with the Proc Rebirth being particularly powerful in Standard, Modern most definitely it is.
People are going a bit crazy over this Charm. I like it, find it playable, but it's not the best removal in Standard nor is it the best Charm nor even the second best Charm. Third seems right.

It may not be the best removal, but it's definitely the most flexible for 2 or less, which means it's pretty good. I'd be surprised if this wasn't at least fairly common in sideboards.
The first mode is definitely funky. A very fringe white ability that is the antithesis of black. But then the Vendetta and mini-Reveillark/Unearth mode are sweet.
Funny, I see the Gruul Homeward Path mode as being more appropriate here.
Anyway it's a weird one but I love it. We'll have to see how good the mini-Lark mode will be, that's what's really interesting about this one.
The more I think about it the more I am disappointed in this card, the creature returning abilities are redundant and the removal certainly is conditional, I dont want to take damage trying not to die. Vendeta didn't see much play. Simic and Azorious Charms are Beter, blus dat face is ugly az.
Again so surprised this one didn't have a life gain mode, I guess that is suposed to be represented by the lifelink on Azorious charm? Did the same people design these? the RtR ones are so much cleaner.
I really wish the third mode was converted mana cost 2 or less. Play this, bring back Snapcaster Mage, then flashback something in your graveyard. The reason why I say this is because Unearth costs B and returns a creature with converted mana cost 3 or less to the battlefield. I guess you could bring back Vexing Devil and Deathrite Shaman though.

if the creature it returned cost two or less then you have just created the most powerful uncommon in many many years.

I think snapcaster is why this is at 1 and not 2, at 2 people get to run 8 snapcasters in esper whatever.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.

EDIT: The art is ****ing ugly, man.

Blood Artist doesn't have CMC of 1.
