Looks like the Dimir keyrune also got added in the image gallery. How does Cipher work with it?

Obzedat is so obviously PLAY ME BUY PACKS TO CRACK ME, it's not funny.

I don't think Lazav will see much play, Ghost Council on the other hand, Grin

At least Dimir Keyrune was what i thought it would be,

Two guild leaders, both resistant to removal and with respectable abilities.. Color me impressed. Intrigued to see where Dimir is going as Lazav is really mill-friendly. I'm not sold on Obzedat being meta-warping or anything yet. That's still a potential five mana one-for-one.
Check out some sweet tunes. J_Ruth's latest tune is "Morphling" and, yes, it's named after the classic Morphling.

O_O That Ghost Council, my goodness.
Lazav is also nuts but dear god that Council.
  • #13
2 chase mythics. Both are fantastic. I especially cant wait to play with Lazav. Heck Ill play with both in an esper deck. So awesome
  • #14
Ghost Council is absolutely insane. Lazav is fine, but I'm not sure how well the ability will be. Dimir Keyrune is a weak Creeping Tar Pit... I'm okay with all of this
  • #15
How do u break Lavaz? Might have found a new EDH genreal

Well, that seals it, I'm going Orzohv for pre-release.
  • #18
Ok..so all 3 of the new cards are going into the cube ASAP.

Lazav and Ghost Council are both phenomenal and considering how outstanding Creeping Tar Pit is..why not get another one slapped into Ingot form?

So the new Ghost Council is basically just the old one, except better. This is cool, I like it.
Lazav is basically exactly what I imagined him to be, except I wouldn't have guessed the Hexproof part.
After all, not every serious member of the Occult Underground is ravaged, perverted, desperate, or manic; just most.

Fun previews. Good mythics, I don't know about standard impact though, but in EDH, Lazav will be awesome.

Well I am definitely playing Esper Control now. Lazav could be amusing against Rites-style decks.

There's also a new card in the image gallery: Basilica Guards

Make it into an unblockable creature and encode a spell onto it? Not sure if it will still be encoded once it turns into a non creature though.

For everyone saying Basilica cards is new, it was spoiled in an article yesterday...
  • #29
Dimir Keyrune is an excellent target for your Cipher spells. It's unblockable and dodges any sorcery-speed creature removal. And the flavor of that play is quite excellent, too.

Oh, and Obzedat is just incredible. Seriously. At worst it's a 5/5 for 5 that drains for 2 when it enters the battlefield.
  • #30
Dat Council...I was hoping he would still have his blinking effect. Guess if it aint broke dont fix it. Now Laz me thinks is more dangerous then ppl realise. If you are playing alot of straight up removal, the spells basicly become "who do I want Laz to be today?".

both amazing cards. hoping for an updated Teysa too for edh. the council seems pretty strong in standard i wouldnt doubt if it saw play. the clone guy is awesome too. nothing really new we have seen the art is awesome and looks delicious to build around

wait edit that, the clone guy becomes a copy when the creature goes into the grave from anywhere
    so this means

    play this guy
    do some mulching
oh did i just mulch in a worldspine wurm?

Please, please let Zegana be as solid as these two!

I can't imagine too many old Ghost Council EDH decks not wanting the new one instead...

Lazav will be fun in a Mimeoplasm deck, as well as his own.

Yeah we won't know for sure until they post the rules faq but I'm guessing that it'll stay encoded and trigger if it becomes a creature and connects again.

I'll likely give Lazav a try im Grimgrin.

Obzedat would be my pick if I wanted to build a new 2-color EDH deck.

I'm more excited about the fact that in the Obzedat spoiler article..Gavin makes a sample Esper control deck with 4 Dimir Charm and he says it's insane in that kind of deck.

I'm wet at the thought of the U/B charm being good.
