Flash and evolve have no synergy whatsoever. Still, it's worthy card and I'm absolutely loving the simic flavor.
Well, a little synergy. For the card itself, it limits the amount of time that the evolve creature has to sit in its vulnerable 1-toughness state before getting bigger. For your other evolve creatures, it can double as a combat trick because they might get bigger at instant speed. And this way, you can have the trick with flash without having to give up evolve in an evolve themed deck.
I do like the card. It curves nicely with the unblockable evolving wall, doubles as a combat trick and allows a bit of a draw-go playstyle.
It has the belly of an Ogre. Crab Fish Ogre... heh

new players as they show up maybe twice with some budget deck they've spent the week designing and testing only to be beaten into oblivion by expensive decks they cannot hope to obtain and I think this is a tragedy.
can you play this dude in response to another creature being played and still get evolve?
The creatures resolve on the stack, so shabby crark would resolve first, and then the other creature. If the other creature has a higher power or toughness, then ol' crarky will get bigger.
Hilarious card is good. Only beef is that all crabs have been very defensive, and seeing one with 1 toughness is kinda against flavor. But then, he's half shark so... awesome? No. JAWSOME.
STREET SHARKS!
That pun is one of the reasons why I can't leave forums. I loved that carrion.
The card is great and pairs in BUG and RUG decks nicely. I think this could see Modern play.
I could not be happier about this card. Seriously, even if Simic beatdown turns out to be a crappy deck, I'm still going to play it and hum this song the entire time.
Evolve is shaping up to be easily the best mechanic in the set.
It's so easy to get extra value out of them and the costs are very low. It seems like Evolve didn't get hit with the development mana-cost bat that seems to have whacked around the Cipher and Extort cards. Granted Cipher is enormously difficult to cost properly which is why it's just a badly designed mechanic, but....
came here just to make that reference myself. X)
and it only took 3 pages for someone to mention it. i'm kinda impressed.
And I made it too without even reading. The fact that I'm not the only person that thought of it brings a glimmer of hope to this otherwise nigh-intolerable spoiler season on MTGS.

Turn 3 Dreg Mangler, swing for 9? Seems good.
I do not sign 5yr+ old cards. Please do not pm me for this.
I wonder if he still goes for the crab legs at the buffet...
