The idea is good here, and I hope this is what they do, effectively "Discard this: Target creature gains this creature until EoT." But...haste is pretty useless for an attacking creature, don't you think?
if you play it on EDH in a kalia deck maybe
lol kkkkkkkk
I could see a 2/1 for G/ with Bloodrush G/ or something.
I could be into that.
Bloodrush is a nice mechanic, I REALLY hope they do what the didn't do with Unleash and attach bonuses and such to it, like Chaos Imps, but, like, on playable cards.
I can't really complain about the mechanic's originality because its a fine keyword that seems to mesh quite well with Gruul's flavor, generally speaking if they execute the mechanic well I would say it'll be a successful one, not gamebreaking, probably not format defining, but playable.
Now the question is whether or not they'll print any good Bloodrush cards, but methinks that one or two will come out.
While I do agree that this is similar in composition to mycoloth, there are distinctions. As the link shows, he is not nearly that repetitive, other than his gestural sweeping style. It is difficult to differentiate elementals as they are typically just masses of the element in a human like silhouette.
But if the theory that these are the promos is true, then we'll very likely see a different take on the 'Hulk.

A clan of Ramen noodles recently voted to grant trading privileges to the packes of shrimp flavor over the contesting oriental and chili seasoning packs. The shrimp empire didn't need the extra trading, but should the oriental packets have received it, it would have helped to bring down poverty levels.
And then all mechanics ever are named Kicker or Channel...
Cycling, Landcycling -> Channel
Reinforce -> Channel
Bloodrush -> Channel
Replicate -> Multikicker
Overload -> Kicker (kinda)
Entwine -> Kicker
Buyback -> Kicker
Luckily, there is not general "Exile this card from GY" mechanic, or people would be arguing that Flashback, Scavenge and Unearth are all the same mechanic.
It's important that most mechanic are not defined too broadly. Then it saves memory space (you know more easily what a card does) and can be made more resonant when needed (Bloodrush sounds more Gruul than Channel).
What I don't understand is why it's an ability word and not a keyword, unless Maro is hiding things from us.
The difference is that while those mechanics are very similar they are not the same. Unless they changed how reminder text works, Channel and Blood rush are exactly the same, you can slide one name out and the other in on any card and the card does that exact same thing. This is not true for any of the other examples.
A 40 dollar mythic rare would constitute a must have 4 of that goes in many decks.
Stats About Mythics
-Mythics are on average 40% rarer than pre-mythic rares
(old blocks about 200 rares, Mythic blocks 35+ mythics)
-They are printing more new cards a year not less
(about 665 now vs. 630 in most pre-mythic block)
-To drop the value of a rare by $1 a mythic must go up $2
-In a 3 year time span deck prices doubled. I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.
Heres to hoping that they make better bloodrush cards than this! This guy is great in limited. Play him turn 4 up and get a big fat creature to pump up
Well, it's definitely limited playable. It's going to usually be on or above curve, and that alone makes it playable, though it'd be nice to have trample. Blood rush just offers some versatility, but likely not enough to see it make constructed play. Again though, in limited it's nice to have that option - you have 6 lands out, and you have an unblocked creature? Pump for lethal, GG.
Does Giant Growth see play in Silverblade Paladin decks? It's +3/+3 for 1. This would be +3/+3 for 3.
Just seems boring. Vanilla dudes are boring. Bad pump spells are boring. Combining vanilla dudes and bad pump spells doesn't make the card very exciting.
Hopefully they expand on the keyword a little more to make it more interesting.
Well on turn 3 in Gruul, who knows if it's +3/+3. It could be an average of +6/+6 for all we know (if they end up having something similar to landfall). In casual, multiplayer, and limited, it'll be fun to swing at someone late game and then give a creature a surprise +13/+13 for 3.
Also don't forget, counterspells don't work on Bloodrush like they do on pump spells.

But Selesnya Charm does. Though this creature is way to inefficient for its cost, versatility of Bloodthirst could see play on a smaller, more efficient creature.
My best-case for this would be something reminiscent of Scab-Clan Mauler; imagine a 3/3 trample for GR that has Bloodthirst GR. Too good? I would hope not.
Yeah, this seems like the Scavenge/Unleash of the set. Kind of a "Spike" mechanic, in that it makes for interesting choices in [competitive] Limited games. Get a dood, or pump a dood? It doesn't read well, and it's certainly nowhere near as sexy as Evolve, but it'll make for interesting game choices.
And yeah, that sure does look like a Mycoloth, doesn't it? Devour seems like it could have been on-flavor (heh) for Gruul, but doesn't Gruul prefer to eat enemies rather than clan-mates?

I seriously doubt all bloodrush abilities will trigger when discarded. That'salreadybeen done.
I am suspecting that gruul will be the land matters and that bloodrush is all about the number of lands you control. Unfortunatley that doesn't fit the name that well so it could be about attacking. But then it would be very much like the new boros mechanic.
People that think "Bloodrush" is going to be a 'lands matter' mechanic must not have played this game for very long.
1) the name doesn't make sense, and not only that, but the name makes perfect sense for an ability that centers around attacking
2) Rubblehulk's power and toughness are equal to the lands you control, so obviously if he grants a p/t boost equal to his p/t, it would have to be equal to the lands you control. It is formatted the way it is to allow for Bloodrush to grant other abilities as well.
3) Borborygormos having an ability that interacts with lands in no way whatsoever signifies that the Gruul keyword has to do with lands. Does detain have to do with drawing cards when creatures attack? Does Unleash have to do with casting creatures for less mana? Does Overload have to do with drawing cards or damaging the opponent? Borbor's ability is about flavor- as in he is so big that he can just throw trees and mountains.
4) The Gruul clans, thematically, aren't about lands. They are tribes of pillaging barbarians. They are all about combat.
5) Wizards tries to keep this game flavorful and would A) not name an ability something that has no connection to what it does, B) not give a guild a mechanic that doesn't fit in with what the guild is about, C) especially when the name of the ability does fit with what the guild is about
6) An ability centered around the amount of lands (and not mountains specifically) has nothing to do with the Red half of RG.

About number 4 : they're against civilisation, i.e. pro-land. But I see your point, and I agree =)
That, and Maro confirmed on his Tumblr that Bloodrush is basically "[cost], [discard]: target creature gets +X/+Y where X/Y is this creature card's P/T".

I rather like Bloodrush, but the name of this mechanic just doesn't seem to fit. It fits with the Gruul guild, but not with the flavor of the ability. Still, a fun card.

I see the flavor as you feeding or anointing your warriors in the blood of might creatures, and they feel a rush as this blood grants them that creatures spirit and strength. Seems fitting flavorful that way.

It's called Bloodrush because instead of properly summoning a creature with the correct mana and preparation period, you're launching it's premature magical essence along side your guy in full-scale charge unto the baffled opponent.
I believe that this is an interesting keyword, and will definitely make for some fabulous limited alpha strikes. I'm not too sure about this card's constructed future, though.

This will be incredible in limited. As for constructed, I see this as a non reusable Kessig Wolf Run that doesn't give trample. I wouldn't be too surprised if this guy has to wait until RTR/Friends standard. The keyword though is interesting, and I'm excited to see what Wizards does with it.
EDIT: Just realized that this costs a lot less than Wolf Run... I can actually see myself playing this.

In a deck with plenty of ramp (which G does in spades) its not that inconcievable to give a guy +7/+7 for 3. And if it suits you better to cast him then you can cast him.
