it's not going to be amazing in standard, mainly because it'll be suppressed by a lot of other widely played cards: restoration angel, thundermaw hellkite, supreme verdict, hellrider.
it's still not a bad card. pairs well with any token-makers, and can kill a 6/6 flyer on the attack if it gets battalion. it'll be good if your other battalion creatures can +1/+1 to let it fight restoration angel, or give it first strike, or something like that.
Fireman Nevena led the victorious assault on the Barbu Rooftop rebels. Now the Gateless have marked her for death.
Gateless putting out hits? Anyone else feel like that's stepping up what's expected of them from RTR? I know they're doing important things, but this is quite the insight into what may or may not be going down for GTC.

Some people have speculated that these might be the prerelease promos, and I think that's looking very plausible... so far each one has been good enough to be strong in Limited and exciting to some casual players, but clearly aren't pushed hard enough to be the set's pack-selling Constructed all-stars. That's basically the exact level you'd want the prerelease promos to be at. I can buy that these may be them.
Azorius AND Rakdos. But yes, I noticed that too; half-ish of the RtR promos had the guild keyword, whereas it looks like these all will. I can't see any reason for that to rule out these being the promos, though; it breaks the pattern set in the first set, but it's not like Wizards is going to see "Some promos don't have the guild mechanic" as an essential feature that needs to be fulfilled.
More like all of the promos INTERACTED with the mechanics. Golgari's doubled their scavenge tokens and Selesnya's provided a token that you wanted to populate. Izzet's made all your overload stuff instant-speed, and Azorious/Rakdos were pretty non-interactive mechanically.
The Gatecrash promos will be the same way. I'd wager that Boros's promo will be a card that gives you tokens to activate Battalion while Simic has a counter-interactive card and Gruul's is more or less a keyworded card.

Wizards has been saying for a while now that the Gates are going to play a more prominent role in Gatecrash with the new cards that interact with the Gate land type. That, and it's called GATEcrash.
The mythic is aurelia, seeing as she makes the battalion stuff trigger twice if yo creatures don't die.
I was referring to the fact that wizards likes to print there keywords in all rarities, so I was joking that the mythic card with Battalion would be a Hero of Bladehold variant, which would remove the mechanics weakness, allowing it to be playable. See Huntmaster of the Fells as a reference as to how wizards does this.
I wasn't really joking though.

The only RTR mythic with a guild keyword was Trostani.
I'm not convinced this will be a good set unless we see more bears

A clan of Ramen noodles recently voted to grant trading privileges to the packes of shrimp flavor over the contesting oriental and chili seasoning packs. The shrimp empire didn't need the extra trading, but should the oriental packets have received it, it would have helped to bring down poverty levels.
He probably really wants a mythic and legendary bear to use as an EDH general.. Reason for concern.
See! This man knows what he's talking about!

In regards to the card and the ability, I like it. Innistrad had a RW Human theme going on towards the end and I'm sure Boros will finish whatever deck will change that archetype. Lightning Helix is always good and can combo with Lifelink, Infect, Curiosity, or other abilities. Just gotta hope that the angel isn't taken out before the swing.

That would be Lightning Mauler

I suspect that Snapcaster Mage means we aren't getting the real Lightning Helix.

You're concerned about the lack of bears in the 19 out of 249 cards we know from the set, the majority of which are rare or mythic?
R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)
People REALLY like their bears apparently.
He looks a little off; he seems a bit too excited about bears. He's harmless likely.
This card and mechanic is really cool though.

you're 19 of 249 cards in... a big chunk of those cards being lands... you'll see a lot more bears.
