The power 9 will probably be MOCS promos. The MOCS resto angel is worth about 20-25 tickets online and people need four of that for alot of decks. The power nine will probably have some worth but won't be more than ten tickets. A foil lotus will be a zillion though.
As someone who has played a 360 card powered paper cube for years, I can safely say that moxen and other fast mana make aggro almost unplayable in this kind of format. It's hard to beat midrange or control strategies when they can freely ramp into bigger and better spells when you're trying to add pressure in the early game (turns 1-3).
Also, Mind Twist is the most rage inducing Magic card ever printed. I've seen more cards thrown over a Mind Twist blowout than any other card in Magic. It's hilarious.

I love this because it's so true. It might be rage inducing, but it is so much fun.
Are we going to see a "Vintage Masters" set? Or will they be unplayable in any tournaments? Wow, this really is throwing my head for a loop.
I think it is pretty clear that they are setting up to announce Vintage as a new format, likely for its 20th anniversary and probably supported by masters edition sets. This is likely a test run for its viability as a limited format. They've already set the stage with the recent MED flashback with the hope of increasing the availability of duals and forces.

How does regular cube work on MTGO? Do you keep the cards or do you pay to draft phantom cards?
Phantom drafts. If you got to keep cards entry would probably be close to $25, probably more. It would also lead to rare drafting and remove a lot of the fun of cube, which is why you do it. For instance, if you got to keep cards LED would be a snap first pick while it's basically unplayable.

It's a way to get older stuff back into circulation as well, that's why I was even entertaining the idea of ownership.

There are much better ways. Again, the cost would make it cost prohibitive to some, and it would totally remove the fun of playing Cube. There are huge downsides and the upsides (introduce extra cards) can be accomplished in other ways without the downsides.

I could see this. It would also be another way to increase the availability of some of the super expensive cards on MODO, like LED, Force, Duals, Academy Rector, etc. There would still be plenty of room in the set for crap rares in some packs. The other option might be MOCS promos. Get 15 QP points get a full set of P9. Or one per month. Depends on how many they want to introduce into the market.

What do you think would happen if the changed it so that only the Winner of the draft got to keep their cards? It would make value drafting really risky and promote making strong picks. Also, how much would it flood the market with the cards? or how much would they have to increase the cube price in order to balance it out for the value that your are getting?

That's not a bad thought. You could eliminate the packs for 1st place and only give out packs for 2nd place, and instead, 1st place got to keep the picks he/she made.
FoW is a little different story since it is essentially a 4 of in most Legacy Decks. It definitely should not be 100+. I also don't think Power 9 should cost $900 to acquire, but they shouldn't be a $50 pack with each either. I would like the secondary market to have them for around $40-50 a piece.
On the surface, WotC claims to not be thrilled with the barrier to entry for eternal formats. It's cited as one of the bigger reasons why Modern exists. If they dislike the barrier so much, why arbitrarily carry it over into MTGO? Having to spend a minimum of several hundred dollars for a format is one of the reasons why no one plays Legacy on MTGO.

Well, the barrier to entry online is significantly lower than it is in real life for Legacy. Looking just at RUG, you save about $200 on 'goyfs, and just over of $730 on the mana base (8 fetches, 6 duals, 4 Wastlands). You then save another $10 on Nimble Mongoose. So you save about $950 in cards online.
You then have to spend an extra $16 on Dazes and $200 on FoWs.
Overall, it's around $750 cheaper to build the deck online than it is to build it IRL. That's significantly cheaper, and greatly lowers the barrier. It's always important to remember that when you're talking about the barrier to entry online.
I do think FoW should be cheaper than it is, and it should probably at least in line with its IRL price, but to say they arbitrarily keep the barrier to entry online is wrong, because they do not. They just do not think that FoW is a problem (which I disagree with them about).
Bringing that back to the P9, they are not going to arbitrarily make Vintage have a barrier. There will be a barrier, but there should be. You should not be handed P9. There secondary market value should be around $50 a piece (although I could see arguments for the being close to $100 a piece), and I don't think that is outrageous for the cards you are getting.

You're probably right, I am unfamiliar with cube, my main reason for coming into this thread was that I play MTGO and getting the p9 on there caught my eye.

Can't argue with paranoia. It's always so rational.
I don't follow. I was merely pointing out people are incorrectly citing the gentleman who wrote that letter somehow promised P9 in personal collections on MODO, which is not what he wrote.
Get your hopes up all you want if MODO is your thing I guess. What was paranoid about that? I think them releasing a Vintage Masters set on MODO is long overdue - and the P9 shouldn't be $50 Mythics either.
Gold bordered = unplayable = waste of time. If you want proxies, thats why printers exist. As far as this goes, phantom limited is better than nothing, but just barely.
Gold bordered is unplayable? Everyone in my playgroup disagrees. You can pay 10 times the cost of a gold bordered card, we'll play with the same card at a fraction of the price, thanks.
Gold-bordered cards are illegal in sanctioned tournaments. Non-sanctioned tournaments and of course casual playgroups can use their own rules.
