With her being oversized they took her from her original printing (my guess). There is no need to re-evaluate the rarity of a card printing that is non-tournament legal.
Indeed. Additionally, the rarity symbol on a card being printed as part of a special set in fixed numbers is moot anyway. They could have put common symbols on all of them, and it wouldn't affect how many will be printed. As such, it wouldn't affect their value either.
Two will be available for sale to the winners of our Fall Commander League (not at MSRP, they understand that it would be stupid of the store to undercut any profits that would allow us to keep our doors open, keep the heat/AC on, and pay the shop employees so they have a clean, comfortable place to play).
One is being sold to a silent auction winner.
Two are being held onto for future events/prize support.
When Wizards releases very limited, premium products like this - at least our store holds onto the product and awards them in what we feel is a meaningful way to our store's customers so that they cards stay local.
I'm not sure why so many people are up in arms about Wizards releasing something that is limited and has a high secondary market value... again Wizards is trying to reward stores for creating in-store play opportunities and supporting organized play.
This product was a last-minute decision and is filling in as a ONE TIME ONLY replacement for the Premium Deck Series, and starting in 2013 we will be getting annual Commander Deck Series similar to what we received in summer 2011.
I'm happy that a product is being made available at all to fill the gap, and seeing as my store typically sold through ~40 copies of Premium Deck Series for ~$1200 in revenue, this limited availability Commander's Arsenal is likely to generate ~$1200 in revenue for my store as a replacement product (between the silent auction sale, this season's Commander League entry fees, and the tournament entry fees brought in from future events for the final two copies).
league fees are collected, then on top of that the winner has to pay full price for the arsenal? that seems good for the house.
Our five copies are going out to players who inquired about this the day it was announced; we've had a few complaints about that recently, but why reward the players who aren't paying attention to the information Wizards is putting out there?
We're also selling ours at MSRP; one of a handful of stores I've heard of doing so.
I will repeat what I've said above and has been said many other places. 4 copies for advanced, 2 for core, if you were 5th and the people in front of you get one then you wont get one...
I will repeat what has been said by people better informed than you: Advanced stores will be getting FIVE copies, not four. This was originally reported by people who got their allocation numbers from their distributors and was then confirmed by WotC.

Ok, so I missed it somewhere in translation...my LGS has still been telling us 4 and they are advanced so I don't know where the disconnect happened. Now I know, thank you very much.

My LGS does this as well and I rather prefer it. If you're going to be an "avid" player of any format then you should be paying attention. Also, the shop here will be selling at MSRP, but I think it's more because its a smaller shop that's been in business for almost 30 years, from being good to their customers and not gouging them.

We're also selling ours at MSRP; one of a handful of stores I've heard of doing so.
Both LGS in my area are doing so as well. It's a curse and a blessing. No one cares at all about anything other than Standard and if the cards in a set can't be used, no one buys it. I bought five FTV: Realms @ MSRP and could've bought all 8 copies because me and the shop owner were TRYING to talk people into getting them and no one wanted to be bothered. The owner just puts everything up on Ebay and keeps a set or two for prize support for prereleases and such depending.
Because of such I can pretty much get anything I want as far as special releases like this and have already been told I can get the copies of this Arsenal for MSRP which I'm still debating.
It actually sucks getting things like this though because no one wants to play anything but Standard, all day every day. Each FNM is Standard: no drafts, no Legacy, Modern, EDH, anything. I could get this to resell but I honestly don't do such and I can't trade because, well, there is no market for it at all. The collector in me is telling me to get this but really foils mean nothing to me, new bordered Sylvan Library, Rhystic Study, and Scroll Rack are the ONLY things making me consider this and it just isn't enough to justify $75 for three cards, and the oversized cards I just want to throw away and probably would.
I realize this probably sounds like a whine session and I guess it kind of is, sorry for the long rant and post lol.
Am I wrong in thinking this Collection doesn't look like it should be worth $75?

Why do I like posting in lists:
1. It allows me to express multiple thoughts without a need to write an essay or make multiple posts. 2. I tend to have multiple thoughts at the same time. 3. Having the right first opinion is sometimes more glorious than having a grammatically correct second opinion. 4. It allows you as a reader to pick out the most erroneous point and counter-comment, allowing you the chance to express an opinion and look like a sensible person when I sound like a dummy.
Am I wrong in thinking this Collection doesn't look like it should be worth $75?
Assuming the list is correct (without the official full spoiler yet we can't be 100% sure) I would say this list is def worth the 75$ msrp but as of now I don't see it being worth the 300$ that I know some want for it, or the 400-500 that some people decided was smart to preorder at. I for one would pay around 150-200 for this list, maybe 225 if the foiling process is right (oh and the right art choices)

I initially was excited by today's announcement, but then I was disappointed by the actual content of the announcement, mostly because the oversized cards shall not automatically have normal-sized versions. That is very unfortunate, because that oversized Sliver Queen looked simply awesome in the new card frame, and with more concise wording.
Thus far, I am sorry to say that I am not impressed by this set, but only seven card out of the eighteen total that it contains have been revealed, thus far, so I still have hope that the remaining cards may be far more awesome.
How shall the prices of these new cards compare to the prices of their original printings? I would very much like to have a foil version of Command Tower, but I shall not purchase it if it is too expensive.

This product rewarded people who were risk takers, have connections, or a lot of money.
It was hardly "risky" to preorder this at MSRP. You had to add so little value to a foil Sylvan Library to make that up it was ridiculous.
As for "having connections"--it's a social game. People who are capable of making friends DO tend to get better access to good cards than people who are not.
So. No pictures means I am still not going to believe this 100%. That said, the most exciting card for me personally is definitely Diao Chan, Artful Beauty. It's an awesome, quirky card that would see more play if it were only available. Oh, look! Now it is!
EDIT: As for MSRP, I was discussing with my LGS owner. It came down to it that he doesn't want to have people buy it at MSRP and then flip it on eBay. I responded that they best way to avoid that is to sell to regular players that he knows will use the cards. *shrug*
I am kind of amazed at [...] the fact that somebody on this thread called Mind's Eye, Mirari's Wake, Decree of Pain, Desertion, AND Scroll Rack, all before they were officially spoiled. I will edit this post VERY shortly with the username of this user who deserves at least all of the cookies. Probably more cookies than that.

As far as a foil version of command tower, I would expect this one to sit right up there with the judge promo (just a guess), primarily because it is both A) alternate art, and B) extremely limited in it's quantity... As for the note you made about sliver queen, there is no way it would have been in the regular sized cards as it is reserve list material. There are only a couple cards on the current list that I have doubts about why they are in there but as with any of these releases they can't all be really stupidly good cards...just not possible.

I am displeased by the idea of Command Tower from this set being no less expensive than its original printing, as I wish to have a foil version of it. Also, I have been wondering something for a long item now: why is Sliver Queen on the reserved list? Is it too powerful to ever be reprinted?

The reserve list isn't just about power, it was an agreement/promise from wotc to not reprint certain cards after the backlash from chronicles. Powerlevel has little to do with what went on the reserve list.
