On the subject of planeswalkers, I do hope that Ral Zarek shall appear in this block, as this is the best opportunity to introduce him, and it would be a massive wasted opportunity to not do so, in my mind.
Are you freaking kidding me? Go take a look at the Gideon picture on Facebook right now. THE BOROS SYMBOL IS ON HIS BELT. Branded.
As for Jace. Thinking he can't be anything other than mono U is foolish. If Jace was to be let into the firemind, there is absolutely no reason to believe he cannot possibly be UR. Don't bring up Ral. Look at the current evidence. Besides, Jace's mind is like a child's compared to Niv's. Jace would very much be the apprentice in that relationship.
I'm not sure what that has to do with Gatecrash, but I have to disagree. They're probably a whole lot closer than you say. Maybe the other way around even.

Really weird name. I mean, if they wanted to convey uhm... gates being crashed... ie, castles being invaded, couldn't they have found a better synonym?
Makes me wonder if the 'gate' being crashed is the planar boundary around Ravnica.
Too bad, my favorite two guilds are in the second set. Feb can't come soon enough.
Wizards owns the D&D license and all of its parts.
Ravnica was based on a plane in D&D Planescape called Sigil. It's essentially a world consisting of entirely a single city. It's well-known as having a lot of portals to various other planes (something Ravnica did not have).
In Planescape, a "Gatecrasher" is an individual that illegally uses ("crashes") one of the many portals ("gates") without permission.
Likely issue.
Also would explain why all these planeswalkers are suddenly showing up all over Ravnica after the Guildpact fell apart and the plane regained access to the multiverse.
Ok this name kinda sorta sucks because that sounds too much like a card name. Gatecrash just sounds like card name. I dont care as long as the cards are cool and good

Having something similar to this would be quite interesting in regards to the overarching story line of the multiverse currently. I very much like this concept.

Which is important, because I've been fumbling around with GCR.
Well, it made sense, at least. I was also expecting it to be GCR, but I suppose GTC works too. Hopefully this doesn't lead to people speculating that the 3-letter code for Sinker will also have T as its middle letter (RTR, GTC, ...?).
In any case, here are the relevant images of the logo and the expansion symbol:
Gideon kinda has a "Oh snap! What else can go wrong today!?" look on his face. Maybe on of the Eldrazi somehow followed him back to Ravnica?
Maybe, but I kinda doubt it. When the Eldrazi came the first time, it was in a large set, to better personify a new and more dangerous threat to Zendikar. Introducing the Eldrazi into a new world in a small set seems to disregard their aggressiveness on the plane.
Plus, it'll kinda be tacky on Wizards part to include them in the last set again, as if they couldn't figure out how to end the block properly.
Cheers to hoping the last set is an all-hybrid set though
The real issue with Eldrazi on Ravnica is that it was confirmed in the SDCC panel that RTR block won't be leaving Ravnica. This means that if the Eldrazi show up, it would be almost entirely without buildup because we won't see what's going on on Zendikar. The only way this gets circumvented is if Nephilim and Eldrazi are somehow connected and that connection lets some antagonist pull the Eldrazi to Ravnica, and the only indications we have of that being remotely possible are that Maro made an offhand comment a couple years ago about Ravnica not being the home plane of the Nephilim and that Nephilim and Eldrazi both look weird.
Moreover, much of what people seem to be hoping for is a true return to Ravnica. Sure, the events that will take place will be of import throughout the Blind Eternities. That's a given. But something about returning to Ravnica would just be cheapened by reducing it to Eldrazi Beachhead #1.
These issues do not rule it out, of course. I just think it's not necessarily something to really hold out hope for. Especially since the Gatecrash could easily refer to Szadek trying to slip out of the Ghost Quarter or maybe some entirely new thing.
And Sorin and Venser, as well.

Yeah, I hear Koth didn't have much to do with the Mirrans, nor Tezzeret the Phyrexians, so they didn't get the watermark.
And Niv's an apprentice to Bolas.

Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, Future Sight, Conflux, Onslaught, Torment and Cold Snap all sounded like card names too!

Now that I think of it, we haven't seen RTR's symbol! It's slightly visible on Jarad's card, but it's hard to make up what it's like...
Also, nice pictures of each guild symbols!

I only knew that for the purposes of theorizing what the extra cards in RTR could be since GTC doesn't have the extra slots.
