The dragon looks like any generic dragon, and it could be on any fantasy setting. There is nothing that screams izzet to me about it, waste of a mythic.
Also didn't Niv kill all the other dragons or something?
Wow. After reading this thread I all I have to say is that I can't believe people can't tell the difference between gold and hybrid.
If Golgari charm was :symbg::symbg: and it had destroy target enchantment it would be out of blacks' color pie. It allows monoblack to have access to enchantment removal. BG is fine because it requires black to add another color to destroy enchantments.
The Dragon is jank and the Charm is disappointing. 'Destroy enchantment' should have been something more appropriate and powerful. 'Destroy target noncreature nonland permanent', perhaps.
Man, that's quite the tall order for a charm. You do realize that the effects are supposed to be roughly 1 mana each, and this would also tread on the toes of Abrupt Decay.

It's not supposed to be an Izzet dragon. There are already two Izzet dragons in the set anyway.
And it's amazing how many people forget thedragons in the original Ravnica block.

It's a pretty simple concept. I'm surprised people who play such a complex game have trouble grasping it.
I've never visited this nostalgic magical Christmasland where homebrews were viable, but I'm kind of jealous of the people who've been there. In my world, homebrewing hasn't been a thing since the Internet. So, basically, since the birth of the game. First it was usenet forums, then The Dojo, and now . . .
I've always gone rogue, and I've never regretted it. In a world where you know what most people are going to play, it makes sense to come in with a counter. Most people are just too lazy or bad at deckbuilding and metagame reading.
Well, looks like my Token deck will keep playing some black!
Actually rootborn defenses is still better on a few fronts at least, regenerate stops destruction i believe so rootborn defenses makes all your creatures indestructible until end of turn which means not only do they not get destroyed at a specific instance but also they cant be destroyed until eot, also rootborn defenses populates before it gives all your creatures indestructability which means the shiney new one is industructable until eot
so i highly suggest going bant at the turn [and taking out black] (or at least thats what im planing) because populate and geist of st traft is kinda cool, also i think that the azorius stuff is far more applicable to tokens than golgari << could be wrong of course its incredibly difficult to be accurate talking about cards that ive never played before lol

This was supposed to destroy planeswalkers at instant speed for two mana and do two other things?

WOW Aren't we getting senile in our old age! Lol JK R_e (hello, i started the 'Save RE' Web petiton) but in all seriousness, can i just ask you why they should give Golgari a 'better' mode than they did? I mean, Rakdos Charm gets 'Shatter', so why shouldnt Golgari Charm just flat out trump it, right?
This is the final post-- Golgari Charm is almost as good if not as good as the best charm spoiled to the Standard decks that will play it. (Best being Izzet Charm for it's playablity/flexibility in all formats). Destroying an Enchantment like Detention Sphere, Rest In Peace, and Martial Lawcould be the different between Zombies being TIer 1 and Tier 1.5
Golgari Charm is maindeckable in Zombies easily, quote me.
postScript-- People should stop complaining "Oh no, it's Jund all over again". Seriously!?!?!

Yeah, oh no Jund all over again. Why don't we literally just have the colors of Blue and White dominate every single Standard season from here until the end of time.
This is a big STFU to all you complainers out there who can't respect the god damn Balance of the game and only ever get excited for the same BS domination by overpowered UW cards. Seriously, i hate blue-- i do. But i do respect it, and like cards they print in the color (Dungeon Geists!!) because i like Magic in general and understand everything should eventually be close to equating out.
Oh boy oh boy I can't wait for that dragon in Karrthus! Best friends forever!
Golgari charm, i personally like. The destroy enchantment part might seem weird, but i think it gives the card good utility.
Well Golgari charm now makes me to go the BG zombie route, it's awesome! First of all the -1/-1 takes care of Knight of Glory, making it the answer we were looking for.
It looks like they pushed golgari a bit this time, and I'm glad- I didn't think it was as strong as the other guilds the first time around. Putrefy was great, but now Golgari has an amazing disruption suite! This is how it should be, black and green should have better instant speed disruption than the other guilds.
I think when we start playing with this set we'll find that the guilds are all really well balanced. I'm looking forward to finding out, at any rate!

Um..Life's Finale/Phyrexian Rebirth were quite playable, especially the former.

At two mana, that sounds about right.
Take a look at the rest of the set. Enchantments will get played and as such, a means to destroy them will become more relevant.

Thats not relevent, protection only protects from targeted effects or damage. Charm kill knight.
Edit: nath'D
And Golgari Charm laughs in the face of protection from black before giving it a wedgie and stealing its lunch money.
(the -1/-1 isn't targeted and isn't damage, so protection doesn't do anything)

Well, let's see, we have:
5 Guild Leaders
5 Multi-colored spells, one for each guild
(the three X-costed sorceries, the Selesnya double Wurm and Vraska for Golgari)
5 Mono-colored spells, one for each colour
(four big, fat creatures and Jace for Blue)
I think we have full symmetry at 15 Mythics.
