Found the article on the starcitygames iphone app which seems to update early over here in Japan. In it he says that the Worldfire ban was to be expected and that Primeval Titan was banned due to the need to rein in ramp in Commander.
As for Kokusho, it's basically as he's said before, it's no longer the huge threat that it used to be with there being more graveyard hate in the format, but it still needs to be banned as a general.
So lets see how long its gonna take till people want to ban Mikaeus because of his interactions with Kokusho or how Kokusho interacts in a Kaeridor deck.
Awww!!! PeT getting banned makes me a sad token man. I'll have to re-adjust my Ghave deck now, but I may just replace him with the RtR fetch 3 basic spell, and maybe add in that giant green wurm that spits 3 out.
Worldfire isn't a surprise, and I suppose Kokusho will be a nice addition for Kaalia....like she needed MORE fatties to spit out at you.
Excuse me for my ignorance, but why do we have a Commander ban list? I was under the impression that Commander was a casual-only format (I haven't seen any sanctioned tournaments anyways). Is this the same as the French EDH banlist or is that separate? I've heard the French have EDH events.

Because we have a group that thinks they are better than everyone and should make the bad restriction rules when they didn't even make the format. It should be a voted on list, a list controlled by Wizards, or it should follow Vintage or Legacy imo.

Why bc triskelion doesnt win enough?
The commander banned list is fine since its determined for a social format.
Wow... Didnt know we have people here who thinks they know how to determine a bannwd list.
Haven't played with worldfire, but Primeval Titan is such a stupid card that I won't lose sleep over its ban. But it's probably a personal preference, since it's the card I hate the most in the game and it can't get out of standard too fast.
I'm personally disappointed in this announcement. Worldfire, was banned because people are scared of it, as most times it's been used in our meta, it has created a dramatic tension as everyone clings tightly to the ceiling fan.
Kokusho is worse, as reanimating isn't the problem, Rite of Replication is. Those two cards will simply end games.
Primeval Titan, well, meh. I kinda expected that one for a while.
Link to article please? Otherwise people would think I'm not telling the truth.
Sadly I can't provide a link since it is from the iphone. It should be popping up on the starcity games website at midnight over in the states. Wish I could offer more proof but sadly I can't

There are a lot of creatures that end the game when rite of replicationed so why is kokusho any different.
Worldfire is not exactly a surprise, given the consistency with bannings of Sway of the Stars. Neither is unbanning Kukosho, the Evening Star (it's worst engine, Recurring Nightmare) is still banned... and quite frankly, if you can stick Kokusho on the board and have him sit around long enough to cast a kicked Rite of Replication, then you deserve to win (and even then, it's a 25 point lifedrain... Exsanguinate frequently does worse).
Primeval Titan is a bit of a surprise, I'll admit, but yeah, the card was too ubiquitous and having it drop turn 4 or 5 in a green deck was usually game. I'm not sad to see it go, but I have friends who will be.
Now the only two cards I want banned are Mind over Matter and Palinchron. I have never, ever, seen either of those two cards played other than to be instant one-card or two-card combos. I still don't get why they ban cards for giving too much of a board presence but leaving cards that just instantly go "I drop this, oops, I win".
Because we have a group that thinks they are better than everyone and should make the bad restriction rules when they didn't even make the format. It should be a voted on list, a list controlled by Wizards, or it should follow Vintage or Legacy imo.
Why, because they did in fact create the format? The list would get out of whack if it was voted on (People can voice their opinions to Sheldon), you don't want WotC controlling the list because it will turn into a competitive format, and it shouldn't follow Vintage/Legacy because there are a ton of awful cards that are banned in one that's fine in others.
While the Rules Committee isn't perfect, I agree with them. Let Kokusho come out and play; if he's too much, he can go back onto the banned list.
No offense but making Kokusho banned as a general is actually worse than banning him as a card that can be put maindeck. You can now tutor him or cheat him into play somehow. You can now play him in any deck as long as your general is Bx.
It's about time primeval made the disparity between green and nongreen decks to obvious. While he was legal the only way games could be fun is if people weren't playing green. Now all we have to do is ban tooth and nail and palinchron. Worldfire I don't care either way and kokusho is more annoying than anything glad to see the black dragon back.
I don't like Commander banned lists, they aren't any good at all and aren't even decided by the people like they should be...
I'm sorry, but the day Commander becomes a format by mass committee is the day that I quit the format. Do you think that's how Wizards decides to ban a card? No. They look and see if certain cards are warping the format. When Wizards began officially sanctioning the format, they entrusted the RC, who are the creators of the format, with its stewardship, and that's how it should stay.
There are a lot of creatures that end the game when rite of replicationed so why is kokusho any different.
Because unlike most creatures, Kokusho ends it instantly. I mean seriously, you don't even need to be running B, U is just as sufficient. "Body Double, copying Kokusho in your bin. Rite kicked. Six Kokushos die to Legend rule, everyone take 30, I gain (X = 30 times number of players)."

Correction: Sheldon Menery IS part of the crew of judges who created the format, so you are wrong there.
Also, I'm fine with these changes. What I am still waiting for is Obliterate to get banned. In a format where Upheaval is banned because of "float mana, Upheaval, cast general and greaves" why is an uncounterable Upheaval not?
Also, Palinchron, seriously. Mind over Matter too for that matter. Need to take some of Blue's teeth away.
