I'd honestly prefer Judge Promo Vindicate as the artwork. A pity that there's no option for L1s to purchase the mat. I've personally limited myself to after/during PT Line/Sinker to start working towards my L2... and there'd need to be a much bigger motivation (like a huge local event that required it) than a playmat for me to rush towards the L2.
I voted for Sol Ring, since I think Judge-based Balance things are overdone... Why not Condemn, Banishment Decree, Vindicate, Puppet's Verdict, Frantic Salvage, or other flavourful Judge-based punny cards?

Think this sounds like a fun idea. Shame it can't be stretched to L1s.
The more I think about it, the more I like Frantic Salvage... It's what I end up doing to gamestates (and the Tournament Hall itself... So much trash! D: ) anyway, so why not put it on Judge stuff?
I haven't had a good look into it, but do we know who's sorting it out? I'd love to see if L1s could purchase the playmat, to offset the cost of printing the extra and sending it to the L1. I need more people to throw money at, so I must know! XD.
Probably too much work for it to be made an option, but a man can try...

This is a nice surprise for passing my L2 test in december 2011. I ended up casting both my votes for Balance (From the Vault: Exiled), although I like Sol Ring as well. I just hope it won't be Blood Moon.
My motivation to become a judge is growing and growing. Now if only I had time to memorize the ITG...
The Magic Infraction Procedure Guide, or MIPG, is not tested on the L1 test at all. Knowledge of judging at Competitive REL events is not necessary for entry to L1, and the documents that you need for L1 are the Regular REL document (2 pages long), as well as some key points from the Magic Tournament Rules - and of course, the CR.

To be fair, this is a relatively recent development.
I only just passed L2 at GP Melbourne. I wonder if I made it in time...
You did.

I like that L2+ judges get multiple votes. I cast both of mine for judge Balance, since it's my favorite art in the game, and I expect it to win in a landslide. But they're all awesome arts and I'd be happy with any of them.
I'm not a Judge, nor do I have a terrible desire to become one, but I am happy that the Judge Balance was the finalized version. It simply is the best in terms of flavor and art (as stated before by Dr. Krieg) for the type of work Judges will be doing. I am very, very impressed.

BTW, the options are:
Sol Ring (Commander art),
Blood Moon,
Balance (Judge foil art),
Balance (FTV art).
Also, the images aren't working for me, can someone attach them please?

There isn't really a choice in my opinion. Angel is a must!

Perhaps a Judge Unworthy?

Lol, same. It's good to see that judges are getting some goodies because they deserve it.
