Wait...wait...wait, I think everyone's missing the fact that it is a 4 mana 5/5. No but seriously seems good, relevant after death, card advantage, etc. However I'll stay skeptical until I see a picture.
Flashback 4GG. Put X +1/+1 counters on target creature, where X is equal to this creature's power. When cast from a graveyard ______ can't be countered.
Interesting concept, fairly strong card, can't complain about a 5/5 for 4. And chill out people, there is NO WAY you can judge a mechanic fully until you see...
1) The cards with the mechanic. Oftentimes it only takes one or two cards with a very good use of a mechanic to push it over the top.
2) Context context context. I'll say it again: context. You need to see the rest of the block to know what's around to work with it.

IIW for any CCC (pick the highest one in the list):
A high-costed equipment (I want it big, but make sure it isn't nutso-broken with Stoneforge. So a high equip cost or a benefit for casting or something)
A Squirrel Wizard
A G?? (1-3 colors, including green) legendary creature with its main strat based on not attacking
For as hard as Wizards wants to push creatures getting into the red zone and winning games, why did they make this only activate as a sorcery?
This upsets me mostly because both revealed guild mechanics seem to interact strictly with creatures. (Populate and now Scavenge) Dredge and Convoke both were abilities with a fair amount of flexibility to them. Sure, just like their precursors, you can slap these abilities on pretty much any card...but they ONLY really seem to synergize with creatures.
I'm really hoping this isn't just another fake. It seems pretty legit though, and I like the mechanic. Very Golgari-ish, making use out of all of its dead things.
Plus this guy, if real, will definitely be finding a home in my Animar deck.
If this is the real Golgari mechanic, it will be insane. Imagine every creature you have in the graveyard is some form of Increasing Savagery. Nuff said.
Is a 5/5 with no abilities for 4mana constructed playable? Probably not likely, but the mechanic itself is very promising.
So this isn't automatically part of the Golgari pack for the pre-release, or is it? If so, it seems like a complete house. An undercosted mono creature with an awesome way to break stalls later on.
There are creatures with power that varies in graveyard - Crusader of Odric for example.
Those creatures are few and far between, and could use a "Scavenge X, where X is this [condition]" template. If there is a creature with CDA defined power and scavenge.
In cases like this, */* are 0/0, am I right?

No, characteristic-setting abilities work in all zones. A Crusader of Odric in your graveyard still has the P/T = number of creatures you control. It still has it when exiled too (this was relevant in the Cephalid Breakfast combo deck, as it would exile Tarmogoyfs when it reanimated Sutured Ghoul).

That seems far more awkward to me.
This also COULD be a hint that the Golgari have some sort of sub-theme with variable power/toughness.

Adding more words and numbers to a card is not "free" in a design sense. Also, Golgari colors get most of the Lhurgoyf effects, including the man-land version.
I like this mechanic. Like Populate and Exalted, it's well-designed to make both strong and weak cards (Noble Hierarch vs. Guardians of Akrasa); as opposed to Storm, where it's either format-defining(/destroying!) or useless garbage.
Oh, you think the losers' bracket is your ally, but you merely adopted the scrub tier. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t 4-0 an FNM until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but an extra pack to sell for store credit!

That said, still fun in Animar.
(his second ability - Sacrifice another creature you control: Each opponent loses life equal to the power of the sacrificed creature.)

"The ability that defines [card]'s power and toughness works in all zones, not just the battlefield."
For future reference, there is a small "Rulings" section on the search for many cards when you click on their names.
Lyzolda, the Blood Witch | Maga, Traitor to Mortals | Mayael the Anima | Rafiq of the Many | Rhys the Redeemed
Sasaya, Oorochi Ascendant | Sygg, River Cutthroat | Thada Adel, Acquisitor | Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
