I don't usually comment on these, but I see Searing Spear, and all I can think of is, "Why???".
I mean, it's not "terrible" for limited, but still. I looked up the query of mana cost 1R, text "3 damage" and see that the only card that's "strictly" better than Searing Spear is Incinerate.

Firewing Phoenix, very straightforward. I like it. A good core set phoenix.
Flames of the Firebrand is technically a "Planeswalker's X" spell but with a different naming convention. And a functional reprint of Arc Lightning. Sure, why not?
Searing Spear, filling the gap between Volcanic Hammer and Incinerate for two-mana 3-damage burn spells. It makes some sense to get rid of the anti-regeneration clause, what with the agenda to keep regeneration more relevant.
Predatory Rampage. Overrun that trades trample for a mass Lure effect. It's not an "I win" button, but a one-sided removal spell. I like it.

Hooray for Nocturnus being back. Vampire decks should have some fun with him. And searing spear is a nice step in making regeneration more important, which i'm all for.

I checked the page source and it looks like Bolas in going to be the only gold card in the set. At the very least, there's none before him alphabetically.
I love Chandra's Arc Lightning. Seems like a good choice with all of the token madness running around. The Phoenix is cool too, and yay new dragon! Searing Spear...meh. D:

Functional reprint for Arc Lightning neat in a way, but sad to see the push for regeneration weakening Incinerate. Arguably would rather have something that says "Choose creature target player controls" as a work around to Shroud and Hexproof. Takes away some of the core strengths for red.
