Nice! I would play any of these "if you control an X this gets +1/+1 and an ability" cards in any limited deck already (albeit maybe not as a high pick.) I think these will be great to sling in Limited.
The other cards seem pretty meh, Falcon seems hard to activate, but maybe in the right deck it'll be ok. Akroma's Memorial is rather blah, but I'm sure some people will want it.
Would any of them see play other than as limited filler without the second colour?
2/2 for 2B?
2/2 for 1G?
2/1 flying for 2U?
2/1 for 1R?
3/3 for 3W?
Uhm. You really aren't meant to play them as anything other than limited filler without the second color. That's what constructed is about, you see. I'm pretty sure that a Stoneforge Mystic in a deck without equipment is an unplayable Squire.
I hope you notice that all the card sizes you posted are pretty okay for limited, maybe the black one is a bit lacking now that Walking Corpse exists.
They're all solid except the blue and black one, and those give you a lot of reward for having the other color. The blue one is still a flyer at that point as well. Hill giants and grizzly bears have always been playable for limited.
Yes, anything that isn't 1/2 for 5 is playable in limited, but that doesn't make this cycle good design.

Neither does obsoleting Cloud Elemental/Scrapfin Drake. Are you telling me you'd play that card you designed in constructed if you didn't have a Plains in your deck?
Artic Aven is great in whatever color a deck you play it. The boar is a perfectly solid bear. The elephant is a good beater. The lizard is a Goblin Piker thank you very much.
What you are proposing is just make the cards better and suddenly that makes it good design.
True, but I feel like a pretty big portion of the splashy cards this time around are reprints. I mean, I guess M12 sold itself off Solemn Simulacrum, Grim Lavamancer, and the titans, but I feel like M13 is doing this significantly more.

They're not just playable, they're decent picks... a lot of them also sweep games if you play their other color. They clearly have a limited design in mind, at least one is constructed playable.
Seems like a solid cycle of uncommons. I'm glad at least that green finally gets the best creature in a cycle, like it should
I like that the green one is the best, too. A 3/3 haste for :1mana::symr::symg: is pretty decent. A 3/3 for :1mana::symg: is good, even if you don't get the +1/+1 until a little later. Could even see constructed play in a green/red stompy deck.
I like that white has a new 2 power creature for :symw:. Black, red, and blue have been getting constructed playable 2/2s for 1 recently, but white was missing out. I don't know how good the Falcon is, though. Sometimes it is a worse Oona's Gatewarden, and that's just not a good thing. Being able to block delver early is nice.
2/1 Flier for :symw:, who can kill flipped first turn Delvers? Yeah, that card will certainly not see any constructed application.
Also, some of the cycle will certainly find their way into a constructed deck
Not as long as Gut Shot is around at the very least.
Your design is worse... cranking them up in power level
I fired that off in the time it took to type it out. If I had a year and hundred of thousands of dollars of design and playtest money, I could probably come up with something a little better. I hope you understood my point though - that the cards are garbage without the second colour. I'd prefer them a little bit more powerful without the second colour, without making them overpowered when you DO have the second colour. Are we communicating now?
Not as long as Gut Shot is around at the very least.
Could be fine if there winds up being a viable Knight/Soldier deck, but at the moment it is a strictly defensive creature and those need to be a lot better than this to be any good.
I love this cycle. They are very good creatures which will not only be dominant in limited, but also potentially constructed playable. The Aven is a 3/2 flier for 3 with activated lifelink. The Boar is 3/3 for 2, or a 3/3 haste for 3. The Lizard is a little weak, but it's still a 3/2 for 2. Unfortunately, I can't remember there ever being a good B/R deck in Standard other than Machine Head (the two colors don't complement each other very well). The elephant and the Bandit are solid too, but probably outweighed in constructed.
War Falcon is extremely good. Notice how it can still block even if you don't control a Soldier or Knight? I wonder how many people will ram their Delvers straight into that.
Akroma's Memorial is a great reprint which makes every casual player pretty happy.
The boar is the only creature with any chance at seeing Constructed play, IMO.
Ram Gang was a 3/3 for 3 that had Haste and Wither and barely saw play. And guys then were worse in general than they are now.
Omg yes this cycle rules! I love the green and red ones I mean a 3/2 for :1mana::symr: is great for red even without the regen, I was planning on making a rakdos deck in rtr anyway. White one doesn't seem to bad g/w aggro can always be a thing. Sadly the blue one is never going to get much love as most u/w decks are more tempo or control based. Black one got the shortest straw though I'd rather just play nighthawk at 3.
2/1 Flier for :symw:, who can kill flipped first turn Delvers? Yeah, that card will certainly not see any constructed application.

Right, because aggressive decks(which is the only ones you would put this guy in) A)want to be trading their guys and B)like playing guys with defender.
The War Falcon is nice if followed by Aven Squire/Knight of Glory/Knight of Infamy...Hitting as hard as a Flipped Delver on turn 2 in Mono white or something which is nice
Could be fine if there winds up being a viable Knight/Soldier deck, but at the moment it is a strictly defensive creature and those need to be a lot better than this to be any good.
Even then it's not that good as it can easily just fail on you in such an extreme way that it's not even funny. You never want this card as a top deck, and it can very easily be dead after a board wipe... Not to mention that at time a single removal spell will keep two creatures out of combat if this is one of them.
As a whole a 2/1 flying defender is pretty bad, especially in a format that has a 3/4 flying flash dude that lets you reuse CIP effects or save a guy from removal.
Hold your horses here. It's a 2/1 for 1R, or a 3/2 for BR. Neither of those are good, so without the regeneration the card probably wouldn't see play outside of limited.
These cards give you something while waiting for your splash, where if they were gold they wouldn't. Makes them significantly better, even more so considering that they're already very playable as is.
The boar is the only creature with any chance at seeing Constructed play, IMO.
Ram Gang was a 3/3 for 3 that had Haste and Wither and barely saw play. And guys then were worse in general than they are now.
Well, it barely saw play because faeries had a stranglehold on the format, but he was absolutely the three drop to play in RDW. A power creep in creaturesstill doesn't make a 3/3 for 2 bad.

A 3/2 for 2 isn't awful, it could easily see play if BR aggro got some sort of support. Also, yes there is clear limited design put into these cards, 2/1s for 2 and 3/3s for 4 are more than just borderline playable in limited as well. They're really good picks, no way these should ever go late. It wouldn't be a 3/2 for BR anyway, you have a whole turn to go look for that off color and not skip a beat.
The other cards seem pretty meh, Falcon seems hard to activate, but maybe in the right deck it'll be ok. Akroma's Memorial is rather blah, but I'm sure some people will want it.

Sh-yeah! I'm glad I dropped mine earlier this year. Fun reprint, though.

EDIT: I like you too, R_E.
M10 Dual-Lands,
You shaft Blue out of a Mythic,
And you reprint Memorial, (waste of a slot) At a Mythic?
I'm really disappointed

My opinion is almost always wrong compared to.... what? YOUR opinion?
You could have worded this "I almost always disagree with your opinion".

It actually fits the bill for mythic. This is the type of card I like to see at mythic level.
