There's a lot going on in Duels of the Planeswalkers. You're racking up achievements left and right, and there are tons of player personas to choose between for your in-game portrait. As they were programming Duels 13, the designers at Stainless (Shaun Smith, Tom Darroch, and James Clarke) came to us in Wizards R&D and asked "Wouldn't it be nice if we had one landing page for all of the cool out-of-game features?"
Why, yes. Yes, it would.
Thus was the Player Status Screen born. The Player Status Screen is a page where you can go to view your achievements and personas and get your hands on some cool promotional items, but we've added some extra spice to it as well. The Player Status Screen can tell you your favorite Magic color based on what lands you've tapped over the course of your entire Duels experience. We've also added some fun statistics to keep track of your biggest moment in Duels—see how much life you can gain or how much damage you can deal in a turn!
If this means that we can unlock promo cards from playing DOTP2013 I'll seriously revoke my previous statement about hating on the cards it came with.
The Avatar is the only one that is going to be wanted.
Nocturnus already has a recent promo, so will be in high circulation.........and probably won't see play.
Avatar might not see play in standard, but it is still a card people really like, and easily the best of the three promos.
Where does it see play though? I can't imagine a 7 drop like that will be used in Standard, I don't know much about Legacy/Modern, and EDH decks might run it.
Whereas Nocturnus I see moreso being used frequently in Standard (hell the LGS near me has been abuzz about fun deck setups they're going to try with it nonstop). Primordial is just one of those "cool cards" that everyone has, but the fact its already been in circulation once does hurt it quite a bit on value as a promo.
Edit: Didn't see that Nocturnus was already around in M2010 or that it already had a promo then.
I take that back, I don't like any of the promos now lol

A creature that rewards you for having a lot of creatures but only makes that reward worthy if you attack with one of them.
Does that make any sense?
Yes, it makes a ton of sense. Especially for the control-y people. You attack with one creature doing huge amounts of damage while leaving behind a ton of blockers who helped you not only attack but can sit back for defending. Exalted has been one of the better abilities on cards. Its amazing.
Maybe a greedy ask but one mana less, one less 1/1, no shock ability and less P/T isn't that unfair a trade off for a card that's good but not near broken already. Once you hit 4 mana it's not like R&D hasn't been pushing cards like crazy. Krenko got spoiled with a very good 4 mana card, not to mention tons other that have been seeing tons of standard play from Huntmaster to Hero to Restoration Angel to Thrun. That or give it haste. I'm cool with it just being a casual card but little changes like that give it a shot in Standard without making it dead somewhere like EDH
I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
The angel is amazing. Exalted Tokens? I think so! Also, Goblin Chieftain into Mob Boss would be a splendid move. I know goblins don't want a higher curve, but still...
"from Magic 2013, including a mythic rare alternate-art promotional card depending on your platform: Serra Avatar on Steam and iPad, Primordial Hydra on XBox, and Vampire Nocturnus on PlayStation Network."
Interesting, and great.
well, great for PSN'ers
Yeah, no kidding. At least Serra Avatar and Primordial Hydra are appealing to newer players.
It's weird that they would give Vampire Nocturnus another alternate-art promo, what with M10 and all.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
It did, trust me. My LGS has NEVER had any kind of promos what-so-ever. No gameday promos, no FNM promos, no DOTP promos, no buy-a-box promos...that's why this worries me, because if you have to go through a LGS to get the promos now, then I won't be able to get one.
No baneslayer wasn't, the angel is a 5/3 swinging turn 5 in the air. If you have any other creatures (token strats), she can be a 10/x, and if you have anything with better evasion, ruh roh. she works in frightening ways with invisible stalker, but then what doesn't.
I have to disagree. Baneslayer was a first-striking, 10 point life swing for 5 mana with protection (though mostly irrelevant) by herself. This angel swings for 5 in the air by herself for four mana. Yeah, she's great if you flood the field with creatures, but I think that if I'm token/weenie spamming, I would rather bank on swinging in with everything instead of holding back my army and swinging in with one super fatty with no protection that will probably get Murdered/bounced/chumped by a spirit token...
I'll probably give her a try, possibly in place of Hero of Bladehold once she rotates, but I think most of the time I'd rather have BSA (or Sigarda if I'm in GW).
Krenko surpassed my expectations. I had a feeling that he'll be token-based, but definitely not a multiplier like he is now. Wow. Definitely getting him for my Thromok EDH deck
Sublime Angel also met my expectation that there would be an Exalted enabler. I had thought it would have been an enchantment though. Still, a very solid card
What goblins need are another 2 drop, not a 4 drop. There is currently one playable 2 drop(goblin wardriver or something, the one that gives battlecry) for goblins in standard. If the rumors that they're reprinting piledriver is true then it would be awesome, and a turn 2 piledriver on the play is nearly unanswerable in delver which would be awesome.
The 4 drop goblin is awesome for edh, I don't really see it seeing much play unless standard gets a lot slower and loses a lot of it's removal. The angel is awesome, however I really don't know how to evaluate the impact it will have on standard ony ddeck i can think of right now that would run it is maybe naya aggro (rg aggro splashing white) since they've got a lot of mana dorks. With all the anthem effects in standard really can't see this being played in a token deck since again anthems (swinging with 5 3/3s is better than swinging with a single 9/8 with no protection from removal) especially since intangible virtue fixes the swing and block problem. Maybe a controlly deck? A 4 drop essentially 5/4 might be good for it since play it turn 6 and keep mana leak open? Maybe not.
That's the thing though. Cavern of souls exist which means counters wouldn't be a problem and goblin chieftain gives your goblins haste making vapor snag not a huge liability. You mention the delver matchup. Even without piledriver the chieftain alone makes krenko come down and immediately produce 2 2/2 tokens with haste. There is no reason to extend further then that. And THAT is goblin's biggest problem. Overextension is almost a mandate for goblins and krenko alleviates that problem for you. He is good without a chieftain and is fantastic with one. Krenko should never be bashing in in the first place. But you need an actual reason to run goblins. Without goblin grenade or piledriver you would just be running goblins because you like them. Kinda like elves in standard right now. Luckily elves got a huge boost with the new Elf spoiled. Many games will get fun with her in play and an end of turn Summoner's pact.
No there not. One in 6 or 7 boosters, the rare should be a mythic.

I feel like I'm underestimating that angel. It's good but it screams "bolt me" in modern where it would get (by far) the most use. In standard the thing has potential to be nuts but something feels off...
Edit: Krenko on the other hand is either jank or banned material. I'm not sure which.

Yes, they are. You're confusing the probability of getting ANY mythic compared to getting ANY rare with the probability of getting a SPECIFIC mythic compared to getting a SPECIFIED rare.
I know it's magical Christmas land but a turn one Noble Hierarch turn two Garruk's Companion, turn three Sublime Archangel means and 7/6 trample attacking turn three. Seems to me to at least be worth looking into.
I can see the angle getting expensive. Its an angel, it's mythic, it has a timmytastic ability, will be great on kitchen counters/commander even if it doesn't break into tournaments.
