I think Gideon will make a re-appearance in Return to Ravnica, as I believe that he is currently in the plane fluff-wise. I may be wrong though.
I thought he was still on ZEN fighting the Eldrazi and INN took place before ZEN.
All this planehopping with little tie in make it hard to keep track of when's when and what's what.

Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

I found it! I was right, according to the MTG Salvation wiki on Gideon Jura's page.
Left alone, Gideon simply stared at the titan before him, and desperately, he thought of a way to fight the creature before him. With hope in his heart, Gideon walked away to Ravnica to petition the help of a group of planeswalkers he had heard rumors about, presumably the Infinite Consortium.
It doesn't make sense, unless maybe if it said, when he attacks loose one life or something. a Price for Power thing.. but
Exalted is Prideful and Orderly. It is NOT a Black mechanic in any way.
This does not bode well.
It is a VERY bad design.
Definition of EXALT
transitive verb
1: to raise in rank, power, or character
2: to elevate by praise or in estimation : glorify
3 obsolete : elate
4: to raise high : elevate
5: to enhance the activity of : intensify <rousing and exalting the imagination — George Eliot>
the definition of exalt would argue otherwise.
The first definition seems to fit black just fine (power).
second definition also fits fine with humans who worship demons by giving them power.
where does it say that exalted has to be prideful or orderly?
Just because you have a definition for exalt does not mean it is correct.
I was sort of hoping for Provoke in M13, but Exalted is alright too. I wait to see what other color gets exalted besides black. My best guess would be white and we can see the two different sides of being exalted.

And even if the word itself weren't the most fitting, the idea of the mechanic goes very well in black, as you can see in the black AVR cards.
I hope exalted is BW in M13, yes crazy Gheist attacks will suck, but they will suck less if exalted is not in U and G this time.
On the other hand, a 1 and a 2 drop in B with exalted can make a sort of "black weenie" on the back of the removal B already has and the AVR demons, or the infect creatures.

Yes sir, I take fantasy art and character design commissions, PM me for rates.
And even if the word itself weren't the most fitting, the idea of the mechanic goes very well in black, as you can see in the black AVR cards.
I disagree. The flavour (and how the mechanics of the keyword play out) is a lot of creatures working together, to help out one creature be more powerful. Black is the selfish colour, the only person it likes to help be more powerful is *itself*, not a collective working together. Black *is* the selfish colour.
The "loner" cards from AVR actually don't work well with Exalted at all, because you're required to only have ONE creature around for them to work. Exalted works by having a *lot* of creatures around (it's just that only one of them *attacks*; you still want many creatures in play).
I'm really surprised to see people saying Exalted isn't a black thing. I feel like cults and cultists support the idea of exaltation more than any other colour. Exaltation is something that (IMO) has always had an evil connotation to it because it is most often used to describe a cult's behaviour. If Exalted was called Teamwork then I would see it being a non-black thing.
I mean, flavour-wise, the idea is that only one creature is attacking. Having many weaklings bowing down and sending out a dark champion to fight is pretty black. I think that the whole Bant colours flow more logically with something like Battle Cry, as a fight together and die together sort of thing.
Exalt is a word which means to praise, glorify, honor, intensify, or heighten. It is most often used in religious contexts. Black can definitely do this.
I actually never liked exalted in Bant. I could understand it, White focuses on community, green prefers helping one creature, and blue likes to hang back and support. But I felt it was awful justification for the bant french vanilla cards. Now that it's in Black (a much better fit, in my opinion) the support for bant cards is null.
I am not a real fan of the style of play that Exalted supports, but within the context of the core set it does make sense. I just really don't like Exaltd personally. I hope M14 has something cool like Channel.

If the Loner has Exalted, you might actually have a single worthwhile creature.
And exalted in Black would certainly make sense. ...no more individual minds, just one single guiding intelligence: MINE

sorry, I was thinking solely about standard in my post, I don't think it's abusive in Modern, more resources availables.

things is that the mechanics from m11 and m12 were blue and red/black respectively
they needed to a mechanic in W or G or both this set to balance it out
though i think convoke or provoke would have been more interesting

I really hope they get a couple modern cards in here, because I really want to buy M13 boxes, and draft a lot of M13.

It's not much different from attacking with a single 6/2. I don't get why people have such a fascination with Exalted + Geist of Saint Traft.

Because you're attacking with a 7/3 maybe? It's a 3 turn clock as opposed to a 4 turn clock?
