How would one go about preordering and from what places? I don't think my LGS is going to or is even interested in these.
Any store that sells comics will likely have a supplier they can order IDW comics from. They're a large enough publisher that just about every distributor stocks them, which means that just about every retailer can order in copies.
What is up with the style on these covers? It just isn't MTG typical art to me. They look like as though the people behind the scene wanted to try and redesign the look and feel of Magic, try and go after a different demographic or something.
Magic has such amazing artwork that captures the aesthetic and fantasy of the game. To come out with comic books of all things that have such terrible covers. I don't know how bad the artwork inside is going to be, but I doubt at this point it will be in the establish style of Magic.

WoTC posted some pages, uncolored, no text, from one of the books. That page was quite well done, and I'm looking forward to reading it. But I agree that the cover pages are extremely lackluster, with no concept of powerful composition. Has the artist ever seen a comic book cover before? A cover that offers no incentive to read the book is simply bad for business. I hope they rectify this later on; no shame in using full-card art imho.
So, these comics haven't come out yet, right? So this december/january the first issue is released. It is the 4th issue that will have Faithless Looting?

I haven't seen any samples of the actual pages yet (got a link to that early uncolored peek?), but I am glad to hear that it appears the inside art is much more on par with Magic: The Gathering style and aesthetic.
I really wish those covers would look more like extraordinary card art; I really wish the cards that came with these comic books did not look like the covers.
Does anyone know where these can be bought? I'd like to get my hands on them.

For the next issue, who knows? AFAIK, almost no-one's local comic shop is getting these when IDW says they'll come out. Your best bet is to find a comic shop local to you and ask there.
EDIT: Actually, I've only spoken to people in the UK about this, so maybe the releases are all going to schedule elsewhere.
It's been going mostly to schedule for me, at least. Issue #3 came out at about this time last month (give or take a week), so I'd expect to see #4 either this Wednesday or the next.
Apparently, the current release date for #4 is next Wednesday, the 16th of May.
WTF! This whole thing has been so badly managed. First issue was released Feb. 1st, 2nd on Feb. 29th, 3rd on March 28th and the final one on May 16th? Not to mention it being delayed for 3 or 4 months. Hard to keep track of it and was a bit of a pain to get a hold of due to the local comic store being on the smaller side.
So, this arc ends with this issue and continues with the Spell Thief??
Anyone seen preview for that second arc or the promos it'll have??
The arc does end with this next issue, yes.
As far as promos, all we know is that there will be promos. There hasn't been any word yet on what they are or could be.
Edit: There's also apparently that The Spell Thief #1 is supposed to come out May 30th, which has been part of why I've wondered about the current arc's last issue.
You do know that the delay is because some disgruntled employee at the factory where the comic books are being printed ran his car into the printing machines...

Really? Do you happen to have a source for that? Not that I don't believe you, but that is a rather outrageous story. It'd be interesting to learn more about the situation. I can imagine printing comics would be quite difficult with a car in the printer.

Yeah, that might be any interesting read if anyone could find news on it!

Is that for real? How did that happen?? They print this at China, right?

Seems like lightbulb is right.
I also think that Dack's name sounds pretty similar to Star Wars characters.

Try your local comic shop..most places can set up a folder to set aside new issues as they come in so you won't miss anything!
