I dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but according to my LGS owner if thing weighs in at 50lbs, so yeah I'm just throwing that out there. It could contain anything,... Why it could even be a boat.

The road to heaven is paved with good deeds, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Which do you have more of ?
Keep in mind though that every one of those saw no play for a while, so they weren't valued very highly at prerelease time. It's always super easy to potentially score something that will become major value a year later, like Hero and Wurm. We've also had Broodmate Dragon and Vampire Nocturnus as well!

LOL!
Fine, I guess we all have to accept that it weighs as much as my 7-year-old son and that Wizards shipped out thousands of them despite the cost. You're about the third or fourth person to say this.
My only guess is that store owners are too busy eating donuts and chili cheese burritos to understand how much 50 pounds really is!:D
I feel like those would fall into that 20% of good ones that he left room for.
So, the promos for
Zendikar - Rampaging Baloths (some play)
Worldwake - Comet Storm (played)
RoE - Emrakul (had an archtype)
M11 - Sun Titan (played)
Scars - Wurmcoil (played a bunch)
MBS - Bladehold (human finisher)
MBS - Glissa (played, modern archtype)
NPH - Sheoldred (played)
M12 - Vaasgoth (hasn't been played)
INN - Mayor (has a fringe archtype, also sees play in some human lists and some other innovating lists)
DKA - Ravenous Demon (little play)
Were *all* bad
Not to mention
Some (in standard) game day promos:
Memnite, Strangleroot Geist, Diregraf Ghoul, stormblood berserker, dungrove elder, elite inquisitor, BSZ, tempered steel...all played
or
Release promos:
these are a bit worse, but you still have
valakut the molten pinnacle, phyrexian metamorph, and Ajani Vengeant over the past 3 blocks, so even some of those are quite playable.
Heck, even all of the 11 existing Buy-a-box promos are/were played in some archtype.
I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
Where did this idea of tattoos and stickers even come from? Have they given those things out before? To Magic players? I don't remember it happening, but that doesn't mean much because I play mostly online and my memory is for crap.
Seriously, why is that even a part of the speculation?
Yes, they actually have given those out before. I remember seeing the Mirran and Phyrexian temp tattoos for that little "war" they did before New Phyrexia came out. They've had stickers plenty of times. I still have some Ravnica ones along with the refrigerator magnets they did back then also.
Considering the thing is heavy, it's likely it's full of older promos that they needed to clear out.
We don't have anyone who popped one open out of curiosity? I couldn't get my LGS to do it. He likes surprises though.

Hooray, you get to break off a tab. And your prize is... the tab!
That was my first thought. Maybe they did a trick like fruit roll ups, and the inside of the vault is covered in removable tattoos, while the vault is filled with cards.

Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

Dude, there's no way Warhammer would ship out thousands upon thousands of little metal figures!
It's pewter, not brass.
Hell, I don't even think Warhammer is made from pewter...
Warhammer hasn't been pewter in a long time. And Warhammer has been shifting more and more to plastics, primarily as a cost saving measure, for quite some time. Plus, you pay a hefty price for the metal miniatures (hell, the plastic ones too these days). This Helvault is a PROMO. Bit different. I really don't think this thing is going to contain significantly heavy items.

Actually, we've had a few people say it weighs 50 pounds. 216 cards doesn't weigh 5 pounds...
Though I don't think it actually is that heavy.
As to the cost of the items, Wizards is at one of the highest success rates for Magic since the game was invented. They keep doing crazy things (putting old cards, some worth hundreds into new pack, for example) to boost players excitement. Giving away thousands of tiny pewter promos wouldn't break the bank.
However, I'm not sure they'd want to invest the cost of the items plus the cost of shipping these things out for free! Dunno, but if they really do weigh 50 pound then they have to be packing at least one really heavy thing.

The 50 pound thing has been debunked, in this very thread. If there is some kind of metal item, it's going to be cheap, small, and lightweight. Rest assured.

Every time someone "debunks" it someone new says their local store owner tells them it weighs 50 pounds. I haven't seen any real debunking, just speculation.

Lets assume the vault is 10 lbs of that 50 lb weight, and would thus be made of aluminum.
That would be 6000 dollars in cost of metal+tens of thousands more for mass produced, machined metal, then for each of the nearly 600 (an estimate, I counted the prerelease stores in a few states, took an average, multiplied it out by 50, and divided by two to account for not all stores doing helvault PRs), an additional shipping cost of between 30 and 70 dollars per store, so another 15000 dollars in shipping costs. Thats nearly 30K in costs for it to be metal, if the helvault is carboard, 10000 of that disappears, nearly instantly from production, and then another few thousand form the decrease in shipping weight. So, you cut a third of the total cost, minimum of the helvault portion of the event by switching to cardboard.
EDIT:
also, the helvaults haven't been shipped yet (afaik), so anyone with a store owner saying things about them is more than likely lying.

Let me first restate something I said earlier in this thread:
Ok, fine. Metal theft for recycling money is one of the most rampant crimes in the area that I live in, but Wizards will ship out literally thousands of giant metal promos that will serve absolutely no purpose once the event is over. :-/:-/:-/
So, no, it's not made of metal.
Also, i don't think it weighs 50 pounds. I've been saying that all along, too. But people just keep saying it. Different people, in fact, so I'm starting to have doubts that they are wrong!

That was my first thought. Maybe they did a trick like fruit roll ups, and the inside of the vault is covered in removable tattoos, while the vault is filled with cards.
Just what I always wanted!
But now I'm really wondering about what might be in this thing, given that statement. It's probably more than just cards at this point.
Along with cards probably.
And Beta Booster Packs. You got 99 attackers but I'm blocking with 1.

This Winner is Also Judge | 6
Club Flamingo | Lots
Probably some cheap metal. If they were to do so.
I said pewter life counters earlier in the thread. I stand by that.
Ah. I did not see your post then (haven't kept up with this thread all that consistently). That would be pretty cool though, actually.
There's no way Wizards is paying for 52 pewter miniatures plus all the other stuff inside times however many hundreds of Vaults they sent out.
