Unlock the secrets of the Helvault!
This event is unlike anything we’ve ever offered, and will give your Magic™ players the chance to participate in a unique experience that they will be sure to remember for years to come!
Event Features: Format: The format for this Prerelease is Sealed Deck — six boosters of Avacyn Restored™ . Though the set is a part of the Innistrad™ block, it is a large set, which means that the Prerelease tournament will use only Avacyn Restored product.
Unique and Exciting Player Experience: This event will give Magic players the chance to open the mysterious Helvault right in your store. The Helvault is a vessel filled with additional player prizes that will take the righteous strength of your store’s entire community to unlock (instructions will be provided)!
Critical: The opening of the Helvault will be much anticipated by your Magic community. To make sure that we can work together to deliver this great experience, it is vital that you and your organizer(s) not open the Helvault until the event.
Additionally, each store will receive a limited number of Helvaults, so we encourage you to offer pre-regeistration for this event (not every Prerelease event will have a Helvault, so we strongly encourage you to offer
pre-registration for this event).
Prerelease events are great for players of all experience levels:
Add some open dueling to encourage your new players to participate!
Core stores may now run 3 main events while Advanced may run 6.
Again, it’s vital to communicate to your players that not every main event will feature a Helvault.
I'm pretty excited with the additional of Helvault prerelease kit which will be given on top of Avacyn Restored Kit for prerelease event
The basic problem with this is that if there's anything really amazing in these "Helvaults" many stores will preopen them and take the good stuff for themselves.

Wouldn't tournament-organizer agreements do a fairly good job of protecting against this? I'm not sure how many stores would really want to open these up early if it meant losing the ability to run events.
People always say that the store owners will just tear it apart to make money off stuff, you guys have some pretty crappy store owners then, heck, my store owner sells everything at discount.

How would they verify it, though?
The way it's worded makes me think that the contents will be somewhat random. So if they inserted something like valuable old cards in there the store could preopen it and swap them out for something less valuable and no one would be able to tell.
They could try to use some kind of tamper-proof sealing, but the store owner could still open it in a back room or something.
If if payoff is high enough, dishonest store owners will find a way.
already can't wait for more info. Ever since the second article of dancing in the dark and it's hint that graveyard isn't important, I've been waiting for more info on ARV and it's theme. too early still to really expect much I guess.

Yeah fortunately the local store owners aren't all complete jackasses so I don't think I'll have to worry about that.

You've got a rat in your walls, and cheese won't solve anything.
Wonder if the helvaults will be physically shaped like the helvault(though smaller obviously), or if they'll just be a box with Helvault written on it. If it's something solidly made the empty helvault itself could be a collectors item. Cool, can't wait for more info.
i think this will be an interesting thing either its REALLY badass or a really huge let down

could someone link to the area that this comes from? I don't doubt that it's real, I just would like to know where announcements like this come from so I can view them myself.

the most solid thing we'll see is cardboard I'd bet. It would be too expensive to use anything better.

Well yeah, but if it still resembles the Helvault, it should hold some value.
Honestly, this event sounds intriguing. More info desired.
ya know, I have a pretty good guess that Dack Fayden is our new walker for the set now, and here's why:
Remember the thing Dack is known for? learning spells an artifact uses, as well as knowing it's history. I would guess that he gets curious, or is called to help by the townsfolk, to figure out how to open the helvault, because somehow they know thats where Avacyn is, or he discovers this himself by examining it with his powers.
And the his abilities are based on the history of the helvault that he finds out, and also a bit of what it does, such as exiling stuff.
It just makes sense, they said there would be a new walker, they say they helvault is important, and they say he knows how to work with artifacts. Put this together, and I believe this is leading up to him opening the vault.

With Lili, Garruk, and Sorin all floating around we can safely expect something pretty badass to come crashing down.

I agree with you completely...
This can be either AWESOME or simply silly, it most depends on how players behave in this way...
I Hope that we have a Helvault to open in our store...
