This is the strongest constructed card previewed yet. It might as well read ":symtap::2mana::symw::symb:: Target player skips their attack step". Pair this up with Gideon/Elspeth/Sorin with a few token generators and you are talking a very powerful midgame that adequately gets around countermagic.
And loses to Day of Judgment and Ghostly Quarter which every control deck is playing 4 of each... It's not full proof and it certainly doesn't make B/W tokens a good idea. It makes B/W midrange a good idea.
I don't see 4 mana as that bad. If it were target creature, fine, but giving all of them deathtouch and lifelink is more than worth 4 mana. I have the urge to build BW first strikers.dec
It's more like ''5'' mana since you need 4 lands + this one. I like the card, but can't see where it will fit for a competitive deck... maybe WB prison deck?

Will be fun in EDH will want foil
Who will run this out when a control opponent doesn't have board position? If they have to wrath your tokens, you're winning.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't.
For folks concerned about the mana cost- it's the same as Gavony Township. Despite that card being green, decks that use it rarely use ramp outside of the occasional mana-dork, so the color is negligible. Decks that use Gavony Township are usually: cheap aggro or token decks. Decks likely to get use out of Vault of the Archangel: cheap aggro or token decks, though it's still 'decent' with bigger creatures.
Like I mentioned earlier, unlike Gavony Township you don't HAVE to activate it for value. The threat of this card with open mana will have an effect on board position. Its not like you are tapping out pre-combat anyway- this does it's job, and if you didn't need to activate it, you still have your mana.
That all being said, comparisons between Gavony Township and Vault of the Archangel end at activation- they effect combat in completely different ways.
It costs too much to be truly relevant... I guess it could be a 1 of or something to make something like Timely or whatever a little stronger but even then 5 mana is a lot for something that requires you to have a board presence as is. Would have been better if it was WB, Tap: ~, or had a different ability that benefited control more, like making a 1/1 Vampire with maybe Lifelink, then it would benefit multiple deck types (IE: Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree). Because as it sands now it's competing with Gavony and Mooreland, both of which do more for your buck in the decks that would want this land.
i think most of you think this card has to be aggressive... when it really doesnt.
i for one would love to have this card out when im about to swing late game with anything.
grave titan and hero of bladehold love this card. an EoT cat orgy plus activating this next turn could be insane.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
I felt a great disturbance in the force, like a thousand decks across several formats suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has been printed
Wait what? Do you understand that wrathing the board stabilizes the board right? Which doesn't put you in a winning situation...
And are you trying to say you wont drop lands that are in your hand? Ok thanks make my mana leaks better.
This card isn't aggresively costed enough to do what everyone thinks it will do.
You are assuming this land will be used proactively. What I'm saying is that the land will be used defensively. In between all this wrathing and countering as a control player you still need to actually win the game. You have 5-7 ways to do that. You desperately need your Consecrated Sphinx/Sun Titan to a) resolve and b) create an advantageous board state. Problem is giving all my creatures deathtouch and lifelink just allowed a BW deck to trade a 1/1 flier for your threat. Seeing as BW is not too shabby in spot removal as well, you will likely just run out of threats. So tap out for your Sphinx/Titan, while BW casually drops a random 1/1 flier and this land. You can either not attack, wrath or trade. All 3 scenarios are bad for you as a control player.

Oh how White Sun's Zenith just became more awesome. I don't know how any deck will really be able to beat a WSZ for 4-5 followed up with this the next turn, made even more dramatic by the fact that you'll probably have Sorin in the deck as well.
Not assume, but I sincerely hope so. I've been kinda interested in BW EDH for a while, but I don't like the current generals. Powerful land, me likey.

I'm guessing they will do a cycle akin the the original duel lands in M13, not reprints but similar for the 20th anniversary.

Yo, I heard that G/W tokens uses Gavony Township..which costs the exact same to activate. Isn't that funny?
I'm very interested to see what the :symr::symw: and :symb::symg: lands will do.

This card will find a home in Standard and is going to be awesome in EDH.
