Huntmaster, is going to be my new BFF. lol. He is just pure carnage. He allows you to gain 2 get a 2/2 wolf then flip doing 2 damage to opponent and one of their critters, and not just that hes a 4/4 beat in the face. I can see this card going to be a staple card for RG decks to come and for older ones. Hes a big answer to things on the board. I bet we are going to see allot of play with this guy in standard. Plus i just cant over the amazing art work too.
Edit: i also foresee wolfs going to go B/R/G. with the new Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, making a beater in the face a 5/5 with undying would be amazing.
I want to give my 2 cents as to why the huntmaster is better then gang, even in aggro.
First of it gives you 2 creatures, thus giving you 2 attackers not just one so if you need to push through that last few damage then he is better. Second put yourself in a situation where the control deck just wiped the board with a DOJ, which of these would you prefer to top deck?? if you chose gang prepare to lose. Third gang needs multiple creatures in plat for him to be good, huntmaster does not. Last but not least playing a gang and having it killed ( doom blade, dismember, volley exc. ) nets you nothing, huntmaster on the other hand gives you +2 life and a 2/2.
as for the BBE comparison...this is not even close. Huntmaster is awesome and WILL see lots of play but BBE was busted and is one of the most overpowered cards printed it defined an entire standard environment, Huntmaster will not do this he will have an impact but that's all. BBE also got you an extra card on a haste creature, the only way Huntmaster matches him is if he flips and then flips back in which point you just got yourself the most efficient creature ever lol and I dont think he will be flipping twice very often. But hey maybe im wrong.
Either way I love this card and have gotten my play set.
Huntmaster is the best card in the set atm if R/G are reasonable colors to play, With this guy and Thrun you have a very solid play turn 3 after ramping, and this guy they have to deal with, so they wipe the board and you land your titan and collect their tears.
A RUG version should be very popular as well, dropping this guy then sitting on counter magic is going to be tough to beat.
I see a bright future for copperline gorge prices.
But it also gives them the strength the tribe really needs to be viable.
Some synergetic cards could help a lot. Like a werewolf that has "When this enters the battlefield target player cannot untap their permanents next turn" ect. It's not that hard to do but I don't work for wizards so...

She's insisting on correcting people about DFC and Flip-cards not being the same. But instead of telling people so, she makes snappy comments that confuse people.
On topic, regarding the original thing about DFCs, I really would have wished they made more WWs that had abilities each time they transformed into night side, it would have made them better, maybe even playable.
Sadly... unless we go to another plane with WWs or return to a dark Innistrad, we won't be seeing them...
I agree. But of course we could still see flip-triggered werewolf abilities in AVR in some other form. Going off the assumption that we'll see Tovolar (he's the unflippy werewolf, right?) in AVR as a single-sided card, he could have something like "whenever a werewolf you control transforms, it deals (or Tovolar deals) one damage to target creature or player." Or there could be a Burning Vengeance-style enchantment with a similar effect. So just because we're almost out of DFCs doesn't necessarily mean we won't be seeing more of that effect.

I have a feeling this will be important in the coming weeks:
Both players control a Huntmaster of the Fells. One player passes their turn, both Huntmasters get to transform. I believe this is the correct interaction, but just wanted to make sure:
Active Player's (AP) Huntmaster transform goes on the stack.
Non-Active Player's (NAP) Huntmaster transform goes on the stack.
NAP's Huntmaster transform resolves.
NAP's Ravager damage goes on the stack.
NAP's Ravager damage resolves, killing AP's Huntmaster before it transforms.
Why do people keep saying huntmaster is the best card in the set?
Master of the Wild Hunt was never format warping, and is I think better, easier to keep alive, and easier to cast.
I think that you are a bit off as far as what makes this card good.
The wolf is the smallest part of it.
This card is nothing like the Master of the Wild Hunt.
