Avacyn will return and be disapointed with the humans that are warewolves because they have embraced the change, is she will make it so they stay warewolves forever in an effort to make them see that its truely a curse. Looking at the picture of Avacyn she is not a very pleased angel I certainly would not want to run into that one in a dark alley.
Avacyn thought to be very good in the past and worshiped by the humans will be showing a very vengeful side
I think I've finally figured out what's happening in Avacyn Restored.
Avacyn finally returns from her 18 month suspension and finds out the reason for Innistrad's troubles: no one has been paying the power bill. To keep the forces of darkness powerless, she keeps the lights on all the time. However, the permanent daylight has some unintended consequences of the residents of Innistrad:
The vampires are permanently immolated by the sunlight, becoming flamekin.
The humans don't get enough sleep and so their growth is stunted. They become kithkin.
The smaller zombies hide from the daylight underwater, becoming merfolk.
The bigger zombies are already giants.
The werewolves are stuck in human form, but being unable to transform causes them to undergo changes. They become elves.
The devils are mutated by the constant sunlight, becoming goblins.
The geists take refuge is trees, become treefolk.
Finally, the cost of keeping the lights on all the time takes its toll on Avacyn and her angels, causing them to be restored to their true forms: Oona and her fairies.
This is the origin of Lorwyn.
At the end of the story, we finally learn the truth. The one who framed Avacyn and caused her to get suspended was none other than Nicol Bolas.
Look at your hand, and now back to me. Now back at your hand. Sadly it isn't my hand, but if you shuffle better it could be. Where are you? You're at your LGS drawing the hand you could have had. What's in your hand? Back to me. I have already played two Herbal Poultices. Look at it again. Those poultices are now Tarmogoyfs. Anything is possible when you shuffle better. I'm on a Phelddagrif.

I think that they are fun to play. I'm sort of bummed, but I can definitely see why Wizards would cover their bases for the set if the first two flopped.

I'm sad about this block not being a 3 set draft/sealed format though. RoE limited was okayish but not great and don't even mention lorwyn and shadowmoor limited, it was absolutely terrible. In Shadowmoor, you forced the red deck. End of story. In Lorwyn, you tried to cobble something together.
Hopefully AVR fixes this trend.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

I'm pretty sure Rise was one of the best draft formats we have ever had. And that's just not my opinion, but the general thoughts of the Magic community.
i don't get it... most people used to hate DFC's... and now that they're gone in AVR, ppl are complaining by the fact that the thing they Hated is not in the set.
T: Add 1 to your "disappointed by lack of DFCs in AVR" pool.

As someone who plays quite a bit of Limited, I won't be too sorry to see DFCs go. It also sucks having to make deck choices based on how opaque my sleeves are, and vice-versa.

So by the time they started testing set 3, someone finally said, you know this double faced card thing is ****ing stupid, and it will probably upset a lot of people. But it was too late.
Also i saw a few comments and... how is this 3rd set shaping up to be just like RoE? Cause its standalone. I just think its to soon to judge. Also love roe
...they're only as limited as their other qualities make them. Bloodline Keeper functions in ANY vampire deck, Thraben Sentry in no way relies on other transformers, Cloistered Youth and Delver of Secrets are VERY efficient weenies for almost any deck, Ludevic's Test Subject functions ENTIRELY well in a vacuum no differently then Figure of Destiny...REALLY?? I can see a "linear" argument for Werewolves, considering their abundance among the DFCs, and that they're ALL transformers, plus the fact that they're a tribe...but your argument is that every double-faced card is linear, just because they have something in common. That...really is all you're saying.

The franchise MtG most resembles is Battlestar Galactica. Why? Its players exist in, at most, a dozen different models at any given point in time, with perhaps up to 3% variation, 5% if you're lucky.

Then that makes it a dog, I always wanted a pet dog, that's pretty much what a werewolf is that can't transform

Too bad. I mean, I'm really not a fan, but it would have been nice from a consistency standpoint.

DFCs are interesting, but just carry too much baggage. Personally, I am happier without them.
Yup... i really don't get it.
"#MTGDKA will have cool new DFCs. #MTGAVR will not have any."
Maro is saying that AVR will have DFCs, but they will either be uncool, or reprints of cards from ISD/DKA, hence the "cool" "new" DFCs.
