But that's not what it says. It says creatures can't enter the battlefield from graveyards or libraries. There are plenty of cards that affects. Most notably, Green Sun's in standard and Oath of Druids in Legacy.
you missed the point of his post... it has 2 lines. The part he's talking about is the can't CAST spells from libraries part.
My guess is it's either to make it look the same or someone in development lost an EDH game to Future Sight. Or more likely we'll see more cards with this ability later. Sadly they won't see much play cause they printed the hoser for it before they printed the ability itself....
I think people really need to wait to see the whole set before they start jumping off of bridges. For all we know there will be a cycle of hosers made for this card. Think of it as a "temporary setback" for the wacky graveyard decks... not a final nail.
I'll add to this. People also need to stop being upset their preorders just got nerfed since they didn't wait until the whole set was spoiled. Preorders have always been chancy.

who said anything about preorders? i never buy preorders. this is about fun. this is a magic bullet that completely preempts everything interesting that this block almost did.
Why is Grafdigger's Cage 1 mana? It does way too much for a 1 mana card, as well as being a hoser.
It should be costed at somewhere more reasonable, like 3 or 4. One mana is for "absurdly specific things hosed" territory, like what Pithing Needle does.
I don't think people are pissed that it's a hoser card. I think the problem is it's a hoser card for way too many mechanics, is playable in any deck, super easy to tutor (trinket mage finds it), and hoses block mechanics that aren't even tier 1 (aka not strong enough now to NEED a hoser).
Oh, you forgot that it can be played for one mana. That's one of the really big factors. I'm not too fond of the card, but I don't mind it in a big way. Part of me is actually delighted to see this card, since one of the decks that I was planning to build post-DKA was Splinterfright. Now, most decks will play Grafdigger's Cage over Nihil Spellbomb, which is a definite improvement for the deck, since it plays very few flashback spells and having the graveyard exiled is far worse. However, all the other decks that I am working on face a bit of a setback with this card.
I kind of find the flavor of the card to be quite funny. Flavorwise, we should all be thankful for this cage that allows humans to enter a "blessed sleep"; instead, it turns out to be one of the biggest griefer cards thus printed. In addition, most human decks will love this; it mainly causes a problem for all the big, nasty monster decks that love to bring stuff back from the dead and play in graveyards. So, flavorwise, I think the card makes a ton of sense. It's just funny how it works in terms of playing the game.
Edit: Since this is about all the preview cards, I like the Hellrider and I think that he could have good applications in a lot of red decks. If I get a little extra time on my hands, I may try building a U/R aggro deck so I can enchant him with Curiosity, just for fun.
Seriously, the cage might be the most powerful card in the entire block. Boy, it is a hoser alright, it hoses entire archetypes into the ground! I have no idea what wotc was thinking.
Odd that they bothered to prevent casting spells from the library. I guess it's just a aesthetics thing. The first ability affects graveyard and library, so the second one does too?
As far as I can tell, it only affects 11 cards in existence:
Djinn of Wishes
Future Sight
Galvanoth
Garruk's Horde
Knowledge Exploitation
Leaf-Crowned Elder
Magus of the Future
Panglacial Wurm
Spellshift
Sunforger
Temporal Aperture
Well most of them are from the short past of magic ; so its very likely we will get more.
I will for sure get 4 of these.
Its the kind of card that a long time incredible cheap, then jumps up if the cards get released its supposed to work with.
Amulet of Vigor was the same ; ridiculous amount of cash price.
(I really only play limited. I have some casual constructed decks and hardly ever enter tournaments, so my views are mostly from a drafting standpoint)
The cage is a really really really really really strong Pithing Needle. But instead of "Nice Jace (or insert other planeswalker here) you got there, good luck trying to activate his abilities" it's "Nice graveyard you got there, good luck trying to cast spells or bring creatures back from there, plus any library shenanigans you might try to pull". Really nice sideboard card for pretty much every deck (except those trying to cast things from graveyards/libraries).
Gargoyle seems fun in limited.
Tree of redemption was the first card I thought of for Feed the Pack. I think it'd be fun in casual, perhaps limited if you can happen to get that combo.
I started to type "Ooze seems pretty weak at the start... " but then I re-read "indestructible". Yeah he's ridiculous. In limited will be an absolute force I imagine.
Deadly Allure is nice if you have a 1/1 that's just sitting there and they have a fatty (and only a fatty I suppose, since the card says nothing about targeting which creature blocks it).
Hellrider seems sweet. My first instinct is to put him in a RW deck with lots of tokens and battle cry.
If only it was more expensive but a colorless one drop that kills Bant, Dredge, Reanimator, Snappy based decks in Legacy and hoses so many decks in standard is ridiculous. Well, time to focus on the WW or BWG token deck.
Let me just take a gander at the cage of doom.....
yep. It is a uberhose.
Decks it beats in standard: Pod, Solar flare. Neither of which needed a uberhose to the face. There are cards to beat these decks (spellbomb, putrify the grave, ancient grudge, etc.).
Also beats snapcaster. That gets a meh from me.
And cost of :1mana:? are you kidding me? this card is gonna see play over a multitude of formats.
against reanimator/dredge/other deck that involve creature tutors or graveyard. :
Turn 1: Land. Graffdigger's Cage. Trollface.
Good Game.
I am frustrated with this card. Am I going insane or does the list of cards that it hoses keep going on and on?

You remember that time when we did that thing?
Nope.
Exactly.
I am so freaking excited about Grafdigger's Cage. I couldn't even tell you why, honestly. I play Maverick and Dredge so I really should hate it. I love that it's fetchable with Trinket Mage. Curious to see how high the preorder price spikes.
I think pretty much everyone calls Deep Analysis by its short name. Awkward to say it out loud though...
The rule is, you can't call it Deep Anal. unless it's foil, then you can do whatever the hell you want.
Edit: By the way in conjunction to the spoiled card, if you don't go out and order 4 of these while the price is 2-3 bucks, you are planning on spending an arm and a leg for it. If you play legacy, this is one of the roughest cards for not only Dredge, but reanimator.
I'll pay 2-3 dollars for mine, No money lottery from me!

This thread has almost as many views and posts as Sorin's from last Wednesday, and that thread had about a six day headstart on this one.
I think its gonna make a splash in Eternal formats but its getting a little out of hand otherwise... this is definitely a sideboard only card. I seriously doubt its going to be used in any other way. Main decking this (as some are suggesting) just takes away from what that deck is supposed to do in order to combat a few different archetypes. Doesn't sound like a winner to me. Just saying.
1) Torpor Orb turns Pod into a deck of really expensive 1/1's and 2/2's. It is much worse for pod, and it has not hosed Pod's playbility.
2) Cage takes up a slot and doesn't do anything else besides stop the searching. Its no different then if they drew an artifact removal spell - their 1 card removes your 1 card. To have an equal chance to stop pod, they have to run as many pods as you do.
3) Nearly all current competitive decks play cards from the graveyard or move them into play from the library. Is Wolf Run going to run this main when they have Green Sun's Zenith? Is any blue deck going to run this at all when they rely so heavily on Snapcaster and various flashback cards?
In short, much worse hosers have been printed and don't see play against us. The card is still essentially a 1-for-1. Nearly all other decks can't run this without hosing themselves as much or more than they hose us.
Although I agree with most of your logic on the matter... Number two is incorrect, the cage is tutorable so you dont have to equally match it on card count with pod. Secondly torpor orb is way easier to play around because it still allows you to pod up the chain, where as cage doesnt. You can no longer tutor up that slyvok replica.
and as far as number three goes, would you run a card that only shutsdown a smaller facet of your gameplay if it would complete hose someone elses?
Unless I am mistaken, you cast the card from your deck, so yes. The cage is a great card for multiple formats. Hoses dredge, solar flare, snapcaster, and others. Definite money card.
And hellrider is a solid card. 4 for a hasty 3/3 might not be overly good, but it pings the opponent each time you swing a creature at him. (4/3 hasty dude for 4 ain't terribad) it might not be awesome in standard, but I think hellrider is a great example of classic red goodness.

I can't believe you actually said that in reference to Deep Analysis.
Funny that you would though, because for legacy graveyard strategies, I think this card basically IS deep-
nevermind.
