Deck box art is nice, but not spectacular. Will probably appeal to a lot of people (= adolescent males, a good chunk of the target demographic I suppose).
The playmat art looks neat too, can't wait to see the card it's on.
Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.
Sorin has a doofy face and the position of his sword is odd. Not a terrible piece overall though. The Argyle piece is pure cheesecake, but well executed, like 90% of his work. The third piece is evocative and meets the minimum standard for "Innistrad vamps dress like loli clubgoers" without being exploitative -- good work!
Yeah, that Sorin art looks smeariously awesome. His facial expression gives off a "Daddy's got business to take care of"-kinda look. I gotta disagree with you, viperesque.
Whose art is that, anyhow? I can't tell. And is that a snake around the vamp chick on the deck box?
The chick on the mat looks like some vampire bride with that veil on.
Sorin looks totally p'd off. Wouldnt want him coming after me. I really want to know who the playmat is. Very interesting use of colors with the magic around the hands and the background.
I'll take an opposite stand from viperesque and say that those pieces of art are amazing. I hope that they aren't common (because amazing art on commons make me feel let down).
All three are stunning. I actually want the playmat. I really hope the cards tat depect these beauties are good. And that Sorni's new PW cards is also good...

Agreed. It's a crime whenever wizards pulls that kind of mess.
DAT ART. Sorin looks like the embodiment of badassery there. He means business. The second art's not really big enough for me to judge completely, and the bride in the third art looks...seriously eerie.

I guess he always did have a bit of good in him.

(Alright, the middle one is merely mediocre. But honestly.)
What are you talking about...SORIN LOOKS BADASS!
seriously that art is awesome

I just noticed the red jewel in Sorin's armor. It reminds me of Reiuji Utsuho and her red eye in her chest.
His expression looks more demented than anything else. Look at those eyes! And his armor isn't nearly as cool as it is in other artwork.

holding a sword at that angle is hella awkward, other than that the art is good. (seriously that looks like it hurts, all the weight is on the wrist.)
My heart sank after I found out Blind Zealot was a common (a good common nevertheless, but a common).
Why is this a problem? I am only devastated when good art is on a bad card, common or not.
+1 to sorin being B/W

Yup, that's what I thought too. You can actually see collar lapel of his coat above his sword.
Maybe an increase of roses in Innistrad art? Can't be a bad thing.
