There's no official explanation, but some possibilities are that it represents a throne (like the one Liliana is sitting on in one of the pieces of preview artwork we have) and/or contains elements of Liliana's headband, turned upside down. Set symbols are often a bit ambiguous, though, so there might not be one true explanation.
Huh, I suppose I can see the throne. Now that I stare at it, could the symbol be a stylized claw, viewed head-on (like you're staring at the palm of the hand, with curled fingers/claws)?
It could be any number of things. I've seen the Lorwyn symbol described as a leaf, an elf's ear, or even a flamekin's face. A highly stylized symbol means it's easy to interpret it as different things.
I don't think we have to worry about unplayable vampires. Between Vampire Nocturnus and the Zendikar Vampires, we don't have to worry about Vampires when Wizards puts a tribal focus on them. When Vampires're cameos like in Scars Block... that's when I don't expect much.

UR is one of the most common intro pack color pairs, though, along with RW (usually weenie aggro), WU (usually flying creatures), and RG (aggressive midrange and/or ramp). I'd assume that this deck has a fairly high number of instants and sorceries, though it would be a pleasant surprise if this had something new in store.
wait, so U/R is legit for innistrad? Im pretty sure this had been discussed and rediscussed everywhere, but... how likely is it for the shocklands to be reprinted again?

Colors of the intro decks doesn't mean much of anything with regard to what nonbasic lands are in the block. RU is an incredibly common intro deck "archetype" regardless of what the setting is.

Don't Intro Packs have like 2 rares in them anyway? I'd be surprised if they would put a rare land into an Intro Pack.
Course, enemy duals at uncommon would be crazy good, too.
I'm highly excited about this set, and am glad to see a return to graveyard Mechanics, hopefully in a very heavy manner.
And with the look of Wreath of Gheists, is looks like Humans are going to look reeeeally good. I'm hoping that, with the Aura theme hitting W pretty well in M12, they might stick some fun little Auras in here along with Wreath of Gheists, so I can make my Auramancers a bit more fun.
And....if we're getting more graveyard stuff, I'm wondering if we'll see things along the lines of Madness soon. I know Threshold is a definite no, nobody likes being unintuitive, but I always really enjoyed Madness, and this seems like a good place for it.

Currently Getting Back into the swing of MTGS. Bear with me folks~
That doesn't explain the middle portion of it, as the part above the head band should start wide, and end small.
The set symbol is either something super-stylized and we just don't what of yet (like shadowmoor's batwing thing) or its some sort of emblem/object that'll debute in the set, like the kaldra parts. It could also be a under-stylized object, such as the hedrons from ZEN and so forth.

In my opinion, we are already seeing a return of flashback and I have to ask, would wizard return 2 mechanics in the same block? Im thinking we'll probabily see 2-3 more mechanics and if we have something like dredge or madness return it'll probabily be in dark ascension or "roll". This is just my opinion.
Wait, I had just been assuming the set logo represents a hydra, it isn't a hydra? The first official card spoiled points to this being a hydra themed block
I don't like Mythics much either, but realize that petitioning for their removal on a third-party forum is about as effective as eating soup with steak knife.

You mean Mikaeus? Are you serious?
It is a HUMAN, for start. Hydrae aren't the only creatures that can put +1/+1 counters on themselves. The mechanic of adding counters fits into white (Daily Regimen), and the mechanic of strengthening your creatures as well (Ajani Goldmane, Glorious Anthem...) as well. Saying that

based on this is at best a statement so far-fetched that even the Hubble won't see where it come from, and a nonsense at worst.

well, the Jesters cap did come to mind myself (I miss the Jester cycle of cards), but I think it is a stylized representation based on the throne to tell you the truth.
My guess is that Garruk will have something to do with the Werewolf's. I mean Green/Black seems fitting enough. In the pictures of him he looks like he's beat up, ragged, and more hairy.

It looks like a cross-section of a flower to me. 1 petal on either side, the stigma in the middle, and those tiny leaf things on the bottom.
Looks like Godzilla's old nemesis Ghidorah to me. Though on second look, it actually resembles some kind of twisted crown.
Well after all the first image was Liliana on a throne with a dead guy laying on the ground. She could have corrupted the crown and/or taken over the throne.
