Great card! Five mana divided in two: draw four cards, discard two flashback cards.
EDIT: Armored Skaab :2mana::symu:
Creature - Zombie Warrior (C)
When Armored Skaab enters the battlefield, put the top four cards of your library into your graveyard.
1/4
And this is just weird. Blue. Zombie. Warrior. 1/4. Mill yourself. This is alternate alternate Planar Chaos.
As one that only plays EDH, I have to toss in my "ARRGH" regarding Desperate Ravings. Red really, really needs some form of card advantage, and this isn't it. Random discards suck when you do it to yourself.
Ok now ive reflected on it, im *really* digging a U/R/b splash draw/go counterburn weenie deck. Thats a real mouthful. But imagine- Mix and match matoc, snapcaster, delver flyboy and waif, then add in a draw suite of ravings+think twice for EOT, then go halfsies on counters with 4 leaks and something, and top off the control with incinerates, dismembers, and maybe a minor spattering of 1-2 finishers and forbidden alchemies with inkmoths, duals, and a very very paltry black dual splash and bam, you've got a deck.
Thats aggressive and controlly, a draw go that can fairly reliably table a 3/2 on turn 1 and be able to start permission &eot draw on t2. Maybe refine it with probes and ponder or whatnot, but the idea is the same. Having 16 total draw eot abilities in 8 slots in 2/3 cmc is what would really enable it
As is customary with Think Twice to declare that you are thinking once, then thinking twice on the flashback, I'll be sure to rave once, then rave twice. This looks like a fun card (and probably more powerful than it looks too).

I think you may have missed the 'at random' portion of the text. Ravings would be a pretty amazing filter if it let you choose. I'd rather stick to Tezz Gambit though.
I defenetly think ravings is good, its and instant and has flashback you never know what kind of interactions that yeilds with b/r getting a potential emphasis as well as having grim lavamancer

Most of these are typical limited stuff but Desperate Ravings definitely has some constructed potential. It's too bad Pyromancer is rotating out, it might have been interesting in there. IDK where it might fit now. It's still a good card even if it doesn't have a home.

Desperate Ravings is freaking nuts. I bet this ends up being a money uncommon. I'm just REALLY glad Pyro Ascension rotates, because that deck would break this card in half. It's still an amazing card though, and will most definitely see play.
Moment of Heroism: Good for Limited/Constructed. Armored Skaab: big toughness but either too costly or too weak in its power (but, as its armored, it's probably not sensible to have it have too great a power and maybe this is intentionally defensive). Night Terrors: the lands of this expansion are tragically strong but, because there's such a focus on the graveyard and with flashback shenanigans, this isn't so bad. Like Coercion, costly or feels a little costly. Desperate Ravings: somewhere between bad and playable. Random might be fun and all till you get an unfavourable outcome. I suppose if you have cards with flashback or similar cards, it's not that bad. Ranger's Guile: +1/+1 is disappointing. Cobbled Wings: rather powerful, as far as such a thing can be (it's no Batterskull). This is potentially dangerous.
Moment of Heroism - better Mighty Leap in some cases but probably worse more in general.
Armored Skaab - Horned Turtle with a twist!
Night Terrors - Seems like it could be fringe Standard playable but 3 mana is quite a bit for a control deck to pay just for a 1-for-1 so probably not. The only thing it really has on Distress is it's easier on the mana. I guess the exile part might be relevant against some decks.
Desperate Ravings - This seems pretty decent, I could see it getting some constructed play though random discard kind of sucks. Still, red gets a dig card, rejoice!
Ranger's Guile - Poor man Vines of Vastwood but should still be a nice limited card as it acts as a sort of Stave Off (but sometimes better). I wish it gave more of a boost though since I need a VoV replacement if I want to run U/G Infect post-rotation.
Cobbled Wings - meh, at least it's better than the million iterations of Flight they seem to make.
Ooooh, *NOW* i understand the horror theme of this set- with this and markov vampires, we're going to be facing down 3/1 flying lifelink incredibly splashy commons at 3 cmc in limited! Why yes, that is truely terrifying
Desperate Ravings is a worse think twice. Think Twice is a simple 2 for 1. This is a 4 for 3, much worse deal. It may say draw 2, but it still nets no card advantage until you flash it back. having to discard randomly is a huge boon to it's playability. Look at gamble
that is not what "boon" means
I wish Desperate Ravings had just cost red mana instead of blue to flashback I am happy to see red getting closer to draw spells though. It really deserves and needs stuff like this.
The only one with any constructed potential is Desperate Ravings (aka Rave Twice), and being honest, it's very likely to see play.
Ranger's Guile is the type of card really good players will love to draft, and less skilled players will hate, because it's mainly useful for baiting removal. This is going to be a really hard combat trick to play around, even if the impact on the board is very small.
Wit's End is the PERFECT answer to your opponent's Monomania however.
Just hold on to your Wit's End when they Monomania, so you can Wit's End them on your next turn!!!
I think this is fairly reminiscent of the "Jace Battles" we have seen in past standards.. My guess is we will soon witness the great Monomania-Wit's End battles.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Skaab is only bad if your deck doesn't need stuff in the yard. But in a deck that loves it... this is welcoming.

Good limited combat trick that can swing a race situation in your favor
Armored Skaab :2mana::symu:
Probably better than it looks in the blue/black deck
Night Terrors :2mana::symb:
Block coercion effect
Desperate Ravings :1mana::symr:
Instant card filter for red, seems good perhaps something you'd want to build around if you have a bunch of flashback
Ranger's Guile
A worse vines but decent if all you're looking to get is the hexproof
Cobbled Wings
