I really expected the commons and uncommons to be the glue this set needed to shine, and looks like this is the case with this group at least. That insect is bonkers!
A cool Pacifism variant is welcome. Both creatures are actually quite good as far as 1 drops go. The flashback spell is a decent Limited trick, and Curiosity is a rather flavorful reprint. A nice batch of uncommons and commons. Thanks to whoever spoiled this.
Interesting thing about this Pacifism variant: it gives you a reason to want to flip your own werewolf back into its weaker human form. And then it gives your opponent a reason to want to flip it back into a werewolf.
Really liking Bonds of Faith and the Curiosity reprint!
Also I want to see what they did with the art for the insect transformer. (What horror classic is that anyway?)
I'm assuming he represents the Metamorphosis. It's a short novel. It doesn't really fall in to the genre of horror, but a lot of the times it has horror tones.
In an eight player game, is anything good? Don't you just sit there countering combos until someone genesis waves for 42 after all the blue players tap out fighting over a bribery?
I am going to win every FNM for as long as INN is Standard legal with Mono-U 4 Snapcaster Mage, 4 Jeff Goldblum/The Fly.deck and you cannot tell me otherwise.
Any card that is literally Jeff Goldblum is an instant 4-of in every brew I make for forever. Guaranteed day-1 purchase, take all of my money.
In The Fly, Andre Delambre was researching teleportation (Which makes sense as an instant or sorcery). Unfortunately, an accident with the teleporter left him mixed up with a housefly.
which, due to its simplicity make it all sound less creepy and awesome than the 1986 David Cronenberg version.
Hopefully the art involves Jeff Goldblum peeling off his own fingernails.
Delver of Secrets/Insectile Aberration is nice. At common, a 1/1 for U that turns into a flying 3/2? Cool. I wonder if it was based off of The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
Also, I've been expecting something like Doomed Traveler for a while now.

I wonder how Doomed Traveler could fit into some kind of human aggro deck.
Well problem with that is that you're likely running human pump spells/interactions, and not spirit pump spells/abilities. It'd make a nice 1/1 flyer to strap a Sword onto, but then you're losing your once 2/2, 3/3, or better Human.
Awesome. I think delver of secrets will see play for sure. Doomed traveler possibly will too. Nice to see them printing some good commons in this set. Delver of secrets may end up being the steppe lynx of innistrad.
What's awesome about this set is I'm still excited to see the card versions of these spoiled cards, just to get the art and flavor text. Can't say that about any previous sets.
Bonds of Faith is a weird one. If you use it on a human werewolf your opponent controls it gets a bonus until it flips and then it can't do much. Very neat.
And maybe I've been rocking Ocular Halo too much in Rav draft online but Curiousity seems rather decent... just don't try it on your Phantasmal Bear! It certainly benefits our hexproof friends. Yeah for surprise spoilers!
Red we miss you.
Yeah that seems pretty good. The bonds of faith seems alright as a pacifism in this set for limited.

EDIT: I suppose The Fly would work as well.

also bonded faith while not super powerful is very well designed
