Well problem with that is that you're likely running human pump spells/interactions, and not spirit pump spells/abilities. It'd make a nice 1/1 flyer to strap a Sword onto, but then you're losing your once 2/2, 3/3, or better Human.
Assuming you plan to run spells that just pump humans, which if you go mono-white won't be needed, and if you go UW, might not find room for. So, if not? It has wrath insurance, allows a second mentor of the meek trigger, and is an evasive sword holder, all for W.
Nice Wrath recovery in the Traveler, but I really like the Delver. Makes me want to splash some blue into a red deck. Aggro mixed with low level control, maybe? Mental Misstep and Mana Leak, some red vamps, and it might be fun. Competitive? Maybe not, but it could be fun to try. Take it Sligh style with the Delver and other one drops like the Noble, all made easier by Sulfur Falls.
Delver of Secrets is a pretty sweet Franz Kafka reference, and that's a story that's a bit more obscure. The card also just seems generally pretty powerful.
The pacifism effect is super sweet for limited...if they have a guy in the way of your human it's gone, and if they have no guys you can bring some serious beats.
Good job.

Occasional Player? Hold on, because we're sending a Level 3 judge over to your house to kick you in the balls right now! -With Love, WOTC
Very solid commons and uncommons. Casting and flashbacking Rally the Peasants in the same turn in late game is going to be totally backbreaking in limited.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
I do not need to see the art of Insectile Aberration to know we have a magic card of The Fly!! That's so awesome!!
Darn right!
Love that they're tapping a lot into the Universal monster library. Hopefully we'll get a gillman for a Creature from the Black Lagoon reference!

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"
2/2
Curiosity, Doomed Traveler and Delver of Secrets, I like those 3.
Curiosity could use something like Niv-Mizzet, but It's cool all the same.
I like 1/1s that leave behind 1/1s. Tukatongue Thallid Was a favorite card of mine. Mogg War Marshal, Myr Sire, are good as well.
And the delver just needs a cool deck. But a 1 drop that can permanently be a 3/2 flyer is good.

Actually, that's not true. His new body is described as insect-like, but what insect is never fully revealed. In graphic depictions, cockroaches or beetles are often used. Whether his new body has wings or is capable of flight is not really explored though.
In The Venture Bros. version it clearly is a caterpillar
It's been a long time since I've read the story, but nothing fly-like ever appeared in the mind's eye. I'll have to dig that up.
I love Bonds of Faith, looks like a winner in Limited, Pacifism was always good, and the option of using it to give the final pump to alpha strike the opponent is a welcome freebie.
The transforming insect seems very playable for Constructed in my opinion, a 3-power flyer for a paltry U seems worth the testing, Blue decks can reasonably expect to flip it up the turn after it comes into play with a little help from Ponder, I expect it to show in some deck, but only the metagame will tell.
Delver of secrets seems like it could be tourney staple, which i hate cause its an awful stupid DFC that could have just been a flip.
A reliable 3/2 for U, in addition to phantasmal bear means blue aggro with counter back up may be a deck. In legacy the thing shines with brainstorm for a blue skies build.
The 1/1 --> 3/2 flier seems like it could be good in a counter/burn deck. U/R loses splinter twin but fuel your graveyard + lavamancer was already good in that deck. Putting this guy in that kind of theme seems perfect. If he doesn't transform automatically after turn 2, ponder should be able to fix that for turn 3.

Its definately not the metamorphisis. Ive seen a couple people say that and its been bothering me. Gregor Samsa just is an insect all of a sudden, and for no real reason, which is kind of the whole point.
This is the Fly. Which more people should see apprently (the 86 cronenberg version is the best). Seth brundle in the course of his research is accidently fused with a fly and it tears his lfe apart. The flavor of the card fits that story exactly except. Seths transformation is far more gradual and painful
Delver of Secrets definitely sounds like The Fly rather than The Metamorphosis, if only because of the transform trigger. As stated earlier, there really wasn't much of a reason for the change in Metamorphosis, whereas The Fly was a direct result of Seth Brundle's experiments.
I see the Delver of Secrets as a wizard experimenting with magic, until something goes terribly wrong with a spell, and he ends up getting transformed into a giant insect.
1/1 weenie that becomes a 1/1 flier on death is nice and efficient.
The insect transformer could be great, I'm really hoping that the insect version art is slick.
Also not enough props being given to the *original* The Fly http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051622/ - I mean come on, it even had Vincent Price in it.

It's pretty alright.

The story was about a dude that turned into a caterpillar. I'm sure this card is an homage to "The Fly."
