Also, between Skaab Ruinator and Stitched Drake, there is a fun bit of creatures you can play provided you have the spare parts in your graveyard to throw away. I wish there was a nice complimentary new Planeswalker in this set that worked.
Also. Liliana, Smallpox, Skaab, Stitched. Burn through everything, play from your graveyard, champion.
Pop out a 5/6 without any problem. Oh want to sac him to Birthing Pod, ok just going to exile the creatures I used beforehand with Bpod and recast him.
Skaab Ruinator is another one of those cards that when you first look at it, it seems totally epic and powerful, but it really isn't. I mean, what deck would you possibly want to put it in that could actually make use of it? Unless you're running a dedicated self-mill deck, this thing might hit the field once, if at all. And by that time, you probably have better options.
I hope I'm wrong though, because the card seems awesome.
I agree with others: what's so blue about the Ruinator? He's pretty awesome, but why is he blue?
Narcomeba was a blue card. Its not really the same thing, but blue has always been used in dredge so its cool.

In life all we can do is try to make things better. Sitting lost in old ways and fearing change only makes us outdated and ignorant.
Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.

Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
That seems like a ripoff. Why would anyone play that when the next spell you cast will make your opponents draw a bunch of cards? It does not even look good for mill decks.
and that Blue Zombie...Jesus...im gonna get rid of this now...
SUN TITAN AND THIS CARD ARE GOING TO MAKE A SICK TWISTED LOVE CHILD
This...this is madness...even Birthing Pod...wow...cheating with this is amazing
I'm totally stealing those ideas... also I thought it was rare mythic makes me a bit of a sad panda.
Also Zombies getting two mythics? Wowzers.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

Sun Titan and Skaab are going to be ruinating the countryside together. He feels mythic, but as others have already pointed out, doesn't feel very blue.
Essence of the Wild is hilariously bonkers. Too bad the Eldrazi spawn generators are rotating.
I think some people don't understand that the Mirrans are the bad guys. Arcbound Ravager is Mirran. Phyrexia are the good guys coming in to conquer an evil, evil world.
Not sure why you'd need to deal 13 damage to a creature, seems like overkill.
A certain Test Subject would probably disagree with overkill versus barelykill.
Pretty solid batch all the same. Was a little surprised by the mythic of Ruinator at first, then realized I was being silly since it's ridiculous powerful in the right spot.

I heard there's a pretty famous one of those.
Of course, I doubt Skaab Ruinator is going to find a place in Dredge, but he still seems solid if there's good self-mill in this set.
I'd say at this point a "13" cycle is pretty much guaranteed. We have three parts of it, after all.
I am expecting a lot of powerful mill effects in blue, which seems to be getting most of those effects. I'd say that makes the Ruinator at least a possible Standard card. And there are lots of ways to abuse it in older formats.

I'm putting more thought into the Ruinator and you may be right. He seems bonkers, but to cast him, you need 3 other creatures in your GY and three mana open. He's not as crazy as Vengevine because all of your copies of Vengevine came back into play. Then again, the Ruinator is beefier. I don't know... it's gonna take a little while to make a full assessment of this guy. I want him to be B.A., though.
I know it's already been said before, but I'll say it again:
Essence of the Wild + Army of the Damned = 14 6/6 Green Avatars for a total of 14 mana (EotW included), with 13 more for another 10. 27 6/6s, for 24 mana. I'm calling it now: "Essence of the Damned/Army of the Wild".
BTW, Primeval Titan, you might have just been replaced.

Wow. Thats insane.

Gooooood looooord that guy is scary.
Being able to eat your graveyard (before someone else can touch it) and recur a 5/6 flyer is flashy and a utility.
I hope I'm wrong though, because the card seems awesome.

I bet the 13/13 horror/something will be spoiled in a few more days.
Skraab Marauder will most likely see no play remember Chapin's SOM preview in Argent Sphinx.

Thanks to Syndarion of Aeternal Studios for my sig!
Because, you know, we need to be able to deal 13 damage to a creature AND destroy that land.
Essence of the Wild is good with tokens, sucks otherwise.
Scaab Ruinator is pretty awesome, but has a hefty price.

I actually think your opponent might be punching you in the face after that move.

Also, what the hell is up with Morkrut's breasts?! Those things look like ripe $100 melons.
PS: Skaab is insane in Dredge decks. Modern Dredge now doesn't need Ichorid. This is all.
