I was always taught in English class that a couple is (2), a few is (3) [when speaking of a discrete quantity rather than in a descriptive manner], and several is (4) or more.
I know this may not be strictly adhered too, but its not unreasonable to come to that conclusion.
I had the same thought, but that requires the writer to agree with both of us as well, for many, 'several' can mean 3.
Why are Sharuum and Rafiq only probably while Kiki-Jiki is on the list?
Last I checked there are plenty of Legendary Akki it could plausibly be.
Is there another Kiki-Jiki source other than the one listed?

Keep in mind that technically the Innistrad preview legend is being printed in a black border here for the first time. So even under your interpretation, that would mean 3 or more old Legends.

Been wondering this myself.
Kiki-Jiki showed up on the same banner as Rafiq and Sharuum. Anywhere else it was confirmed?
I hope wizards pulls something out of a hat and gives us a reason to want this set, so far nothing has thrilled me.
What would "thrill" you? So far we have about 1/2 the cards and while these aren't the cards I would have put in my dreamworld fantasy FtV, they are all good playable cards in the format they are clearly being marketed toward.
The 15 legends I want to see in this set very closely correspond to the EDH decks I play... which seems like a silly way of judging this.
I really wanted to see more of the older legends foiled out. Here is a short list of some I would have loved to see in the list:
Hazezon Tamar (still possible as we have yet to see a legend for these colors. It will probably be Uril or Mayael though. They were just printed though so I have like no desire to see them in this spot.)
Phelddagrif he isnt for everyone but man I would love to see some bad ass new art for the hippo. Rafiq is still new and obtaining a foil version isnt that terrible to be honest.
Captain Sisay / Hanna, Ship's Navigator two big legends from a good set. Dont really need to see them both but they are both very playable commanders as well. (these could still happen as we have yet to see any 2 colored legends.)
Essentially the older stuff. The newer stuff is still somewhat easy to come across for foils. Also I feel that the P3K pick was a bit lackluster. I suppose that Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is a bit much to ask for but cmon something better than the blue one...
I also sort of agree with you galspanic where I would love to see a lot of new arts and foiled out versions of who I run but beyond that I like old stuff if I cant hit who I run.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I really wanted to see more of the older legends foiled out. Here is a short list of some I would have loved to see in the list:
Hazezon Tamar and Phelddagrif are on the reserve list. That's my biggest issue with Wizards right now - there are a ton of really cool cards that will never be printed because of that list even if they aren't worth all that much. That's for another thread though...
Captain Sisay and Hanna, Ship's Navigator would make my list for sure. Playable, flavorful, hard to find in foil, and they are women. That last part doesn't really matter to me from a game play or masturbatory fanboy point of view, but FtV: Sausagefest doesn't seem appropriate when they have made it a point to bring in a more diverse aesthetic over the last 10 years (failed? Maybe, but that's also for another thread).
Well, the art does not impress me - unless there is a cool detail in the flames behind him, I would prefer the original dynamic art to this crouching thing looking directly into the camera, anytime.

Obviously I want more Alara block legends..... You just can't have enough Alara block legends in the one set, can't wait to see Bloodbraid Elfs new art!
I think what we really need to do is define "Vault" because I know a lot of folks that assumed that "All foil packs at Walmart" is not the "Vault."
Well, the art does not impress me - unless there is a cool detail in the flames behind him, I would prefer the original dynamic art to this crouching thing looking directly into the camera, anytime.
The thing that drives me nuts about the new art - what I can see of it at least - is that you a centered symmetrical circle. Think about red and the flavor that red exudes...
#1 - Centered? Hell no. It should be off to the side with dynamic movement.
#2 - Symmetrical? Of course not. This is similar to the Centered argument. By having him right in the middle it cuts down on a lot of potential energy.
#3 - Circle? The least red shape and shapes in general don't feel red.

the worst thing about the reserve list is it keeps people out of legacy
Wow... I mean I really can't see the art that well... But god does that art look like some of the worst art for Kiki Jiki ever... Like it's literally just him.. He's not doing anything.. Booooringg I'd rather have a real foil. *Not even for the higher monetary value. Just because the original art is far better*
Oh well
Also couldn't agree more on the "This isn't impressing me" like the only card I want for this set is Teferi.. which isn't a hard to find foil anyway...
If Hanna, or Captain Sisay aren't in this set. I mean I have already lost faith in WotC producing promo's for the general players. But I'll say that I probably wont buy the set unless I really want to make bad EDH decks.
Sun Quan is pretty cool, and it's nice to have these other foils but it's really "Meh" so far.
To people who think the list is bad: you realize this product is going to be extremely limited and will be selling for $100 plus? Wizards can put 15 awful cards in and it will still sell out.

But the resale value will be terrible. Like From the Vaults: Dragons, where the only card that's held value is the alt. art Nicol Bolas. And if that trend holds, I don't think this From the Vaults will sell that well With primary distribution.

FTV: Exiled and FTV: Relics don't even sell for $100+ sealed anymore, and they've been out of print for 2 years for Exiled and 1 year for Relics. And those contained very playable cards. This is probably end up selling sealed for only a bit above MSRP after it's initial distribution and people try to ditch the excess copies.

I was driven from this once-great site by abusive mods and admins, who create rules out of thin air to punish people for breaking them (meaning the rule does not exist under forum rules) and selectively enforce the rules that are written on the forum rules. I am currently lurking while deleting 6 years and 2 months of posting history. I will return when ExpiredRascals, Teia Rabishu and Blinking Spirit are no longer in power.
But the resale value will be terrible. Like From the Vaults: Dragons, where the only card that's held value is the alt. art Nicol Bolas. And if that trend holds, I don't think this From the Vaults will sell that well With primary distribution.
The FtV: Dragons aren't the hottest thing out there but saying that the only card worth anything is Nicol Bolas, seems.... incorrect.
Hellkite Overlord is worth $8-$10.
Kokusho look like they sell for $15
Nicol Bolas is going for $40-$50
Niv-Mizzet is out of stock pretty much everywhere, but $15 seems reasonable.
Thunder Dragon is $10ish
That isn't insane, but when you add the other cards that are worth $3-$7 each that adds up to a pretty hefty sum. AND, so far all of these Legends are good to great EDH generals. That alone should keep the prices as high or higher than the secondary market "Dragon nerd effect."
People wanted naked women and crack in this set and it looks like we are ~just~ getting a good selection of Legendary foils.
I had the same thought, but that requires the writer to agree with both of us as well, for many, 'several' can mean 3.

What is the number of kiki-jiki?
I do not sign 5yr+ old cards. Please do not pm me for this.
On a different note, I already have a blue beats Sun Quan, Lord of Wu deck, and I'm ecstatic that he's in this set.
As for a wishlist of the remaining, unspoiled Legends, I'd echo the call for new art for both Captain Sisay and Hanna, Ship's Navigator, and new art for Stonebrow, Krosan Hero as well. A trio of OG Legends I'd REALLY love to see though is Adun Oakenshield for Jund, Rubinia Soulsinger for Bant, and Dakkon Blackblade for Esper. That would rock, especially because I just about finished building all 3 of them.
FOILS please!
