Also, regarding Xiahou Dun's price tag: yeah, he's crazy expensive, but he's only what 1.5 Jaces would have cost until recently, and you only need one of him...so while I get that he does cost $150, it seems that you guys are going a little overboard again
I sold 1.5 Jaces and got:
8 Shock Lands
5 EDH Precons
While $150 may not be ~that~ much money there is a psychological barrier that has to be crossed for most people to spend that kind of cash on a SINGLE card when they can get tons of other stuff for that same price.
I don't suspect that everybody would play with One-Eye if he were $5, but the only reason people don't play him is because he's so expensive.
In other words, a smorgasboard specifically talored towards giving EDH players general options in their color, and complementary to the enemy pairings in commander product. In that role the arc Alara legends don't have as much competition.

I am glad that I will be able to get a Sharuum and a Rafiq, However the fact remains I spent 60 bucks on my foil Kiki-Jiki and 120 on my Xiahou Dun. Now we know for a fact Kiki-Jiki is seeing a reprint in this set and chances are X D is also. I like that it will make it more accessible for players wanting to play these decks I dislike that my investment is worthless now. I am not the type of person that feels I paid a high entry fee for this deck and become sour when others get to play it. I like making cards more accessible. There is however some novelty about playing a fringe general that not alot of people would play, and then showing these people how it works like a well oiled machine. With this product Kiki-Jiki no longer is fringe and neither is X D.

I like both of the new artworks. Kresh is better than the old one, but I like both. The old Progenitus is one of the best artworks EVER. Apocalypse Hydra is probably #2 for me (although Pacifism from Onslaught, Master Transmuter, Elvish Piper, Eternal Witness, Elvish Ranger and Myrsmith--cause she looks like my wife; check out my profile--are all honorable mentions for a different reason). The new artwork is awesome but definitely less mysterious. If I imagine them with sound and like I am there it makes them better for me.
Old Progenitus
Sound: a distant thundering
Feeling: I feel real bad for whomever is over there
New Progenitus
Sound: An ear-shattering bellow/roar that would make a Tyrannosaurus scurry away in fear.
Feeling: Crap, I'm dead. I hate Natural Order.
I am at work and can't alter an art but my submission for Galspanic's alter is this:
"We're going to the Emrakul's for dinner!"
"Yaaahhhh!"
If Xiahou dun, the One-Eyed is in the set I hope they wait to the absolute last second to announce it - so the people that actually want the set have a chance to pre-order them. If they announce it I have a feeling the price will double and they'll be impossible to find.
now I may be confused as to what the reserved list means but from my understanding it meant that those cards would never be reprinted into the standard format. under that understanding putting them into an ftv would be fine because being in this set does not change its legality in any set.
kind of like how dark rit has been reprinted in precon decks since it was put on the list, but because precons dont change a cards legality in any format they are immune to the list.
I feel depressed about how 4 of the spoiled generals are straight out of the Alara block. I was hoping to find some legends and other old stuff... Meh
Most of the legends from Legends were pretty terrible. Those that weren't saw some reprinting in Chronicles for the most part. EDH is renewing life for some of the super janky ones, but that's about it.
Though it would be pretty awesome to see them reprint something interesting like Karakas.

This is not at all how the reserved list works. Dark Ritual has never been on it (and never will be--they don't add cards any more).

Exactly in constructed there are 3 playable legends. This is just stupid. I know that FTV relics needed like Ivory tower... But pick some friggin different blocks to grab legends from FFS! Kiki Jiki Is the only one I'm excited for since it has new art and will be foil, if sharuum had new art i'd be excited for her but meh otherwise. I suppose teferi is also on my to get list, but god this is looking stupid. Just show us the mox diamond card of the set so we can all start collecting 150 bucks for this set already..

So at least 4 3-colored already: Kresh = whatever. Sharuum/Rafiq/Doran are relatively exciting. Teferi is fine. Kiki is good for red. Sun Quan - could have been better. Progenitus - fair...at least not Cromat. Presumably there will be 2 more 3-colors, so hopefully they're good. Uril/Mayael are fine and let's hope grixis isn't a dud.
So with 5 left, and then 1 for the new card, there's 4 other reprints. Maybe get a couple classic/iconic legends and a couple really solid ones? I don't want to see 4 more recent/boring/dull cards when there's really soo much potential.
8 down 7 to go. The mixed reactions for this FTV is off the charts. While the list of which legends can and can not be printed have been around for a while people still want FTV: Reserved list. Just from the spoiled ones so far, I think that this is the highest $$ value wise FTV so far with only 1/2 the set listed.
@Kramit26 I think the "mox Diamond" of the set is probably Kiki-Jiki. Unless they want to give us another $40+ card
these are from apathyhouse
Kiki-Jiki = $40
Progenitus = $32
Sun Quan = $21'ish
Teferi = $12'ish
Rafiq = $13'ish
Doran = $9'ish /$80+ for extended art
Kresh = $3'ish
Sharuum = $12'ish
So granted we all might not get the ones we want, we are certainly going to get our "value" from this FTV.
