This is what Tom LaPille considers to be the "most important reprint in M12." His preview card on Friday will be what he considers the "most exciting reprint in M12."
Thank you. I'm somehow still hoping we'll get that wasteland. It's sooo important for modern, and right now would be the time. If you know what I mean.
On one hand, I'm excited to see Oblivion Ring and Venser, the Sojourner sharing some time in Type 2.
On the other hand, there goes the playability value for a lot of well-designed artifacts, enchantments and fatties that deserved some screen time. Oh well...
Having a few good answers to planeswalkers is important and this has been screaming out to be included in a core set since it was printed. I'm amazed they didn't do it in M11 to keep it in the environment after Alara rotated.
Which is proved fake by the official card for Solemn Simulacrum:
Maybe not. Solemn could be the prerelease card or the release card. Makes sense.

In that case it would have the date on it, or be foil.
Which it's neither of
The image makes it hard to tell and the date looks like it could be covered up...

I literally shouted "YES!" at work when I saw the thread title. Awesome choice for reprint! Will be fun with Venser. Standard is so hot these days. This totally made my day.

Please learn the facts before making statements like this. This is wrong for several reasons:
1. Lack of foil, as the poster above has already pointed out.
2. We know the prerelease and release cards; they're Bloodlord of Vaasgoth and Garruk's Horde, respectively. Furthermore earlier a guy leaked pretty much *all* the upcoming promos, not just those two, and it wasn't among them.
3. Since when does Wizards ever put art for two versions of the same card both in the art gallery for a set? Hell, for that matter, since when do they ever put promo art in the art gallery for a set?
(Note, by the way, that if you were right it would have to be the release card, since it's rare. But it isn't.)
EDIT: Sorry, I misremembered, it's Garruk's Horde, not Chandra's Phoenix; that's a different promo! Point is, it's not a promo at all.

The sparkmage shrieked, calling on the rage of the storms of his youth.
To his surprise, the sky responded with a fierce energy he'd never thought to see again.
I'm not impressed. All this reprint does is make White the Universal answer to anything that hits the field. I mean it's not like Jace decks weren't playing with White already anyways and needed this to destroy the mirror's Jaces.

I think this forum would be strictly better if people would stop trying to force the word strictly into discussions.

Well I guess it's a good thing he's banned then, eh?
Whether or not it worked does not validate the play. That's hindsight probability. Let's say I offered you a bet -- I'm going to flip a coin and if it's heads, I'll give you 1 dollar but if it's tails, you'll give me 2 dollars. This is obviously a terrible bet for you. Accepting it is a bad decision. You can't justify it afterwards by arguing that you won the flip, therefore you made the right decision.
Need we yet again point out the fact the white card kinda lacks a FREAKIN NAME! People, those cards are FAKE!!!!!!! I could photoshop my @rse onto a card and make it more convincing than those.
Actually that's probably a real Oblivion Ring from Shards and if you actually went and looked at it you'd see that the name doesn't go to where the art starts in the photo.
Also there's always the possiblity that they changed the art on the card at the last minute and that was some sort of early printing (to me a card with solemn in the name just seems like it should be alone and that art doesn't fit it).
I'm not saying that was the case here and I'm 100% positive they're fake, but those aren't bulletproof explanations as to why they're fake so stop acting like they are.

Love this card, so happy to see its return. Oh how we missed you...

The prerelease card is Bloodlord of Vaasgoth, the release card is Garruk's Horde. link

Actually, a quick look at the image on Gatherer shows that the name Oblivion Ring wouldn't be visible from just that bit, judging by the art.

Still, super happy to see O-Ring return.
