Well, it's official, Vampires are the nasty nastiness of black; meaning vampires are the clasic poster children of black. This lord is just nuts... more nuts that an Acorn Catapult, lol.
I also remember when Vampire Nocturnus came out in M10 it was followed with ZEN vampires. I see this as a direct correlation of what we'll see soon, M12 vampires pathing the way fir Innistrad vampires.
The green rare looks interesting and devestating in sealed, but outside of that, just over-costed jank.
And the red uncommon... you'd think WotC would want a better card to sell the new core set, but instead they chose something pretty borring. Aren't there other variations of this guy from past sets?
Ehm, because there will absolutely no more love for Magic's new black main tribe?
Of course I know that they'll print more, but it's just that it's the Zendikar ones in particular that I feel are all about being full on aggro. A 6/5 Guul Draz Vampire for B or even a 5/5 Vampire Lacerator for B sounds like tons of fun (yes, I know that they're probably win more at that point, but good god...fun!).
I can't believe anyone is excited about this card. It is absolutely unplayable. I wouldn't even play her in LIMITED. Easily the worst walker printed since the green elf one. Absolutely terrible.
I think the Red Berserker seems really good for red or green pumping effects. he will probably be good on turn 2 after casting a Gut Shot for bloodthirst.
Interesting cards. I really love the theme of Planeswalker cards and spells. What is the deal with all of the Bloodthirst cards in this core set, though? The amount of times that it's shown up so far seems really weird...
That vampire is kind of awkward (for constructed). I mean 6/6 flyer for 5 is fine but unexciting, esp cuz it requires an aggro-ish shell or extra mana to get value, and his buff will only be any good for vampires you play after him... when he'd be the top of the curve.
now all we need a vampire banneret and maybe an esperzoa type critter that bounces vamps as a drawback hahaha

the weirdest part is that wotc still prints cards that are so out of curves.
the best thing to do is come up with a format with a lot of life, so that game swingy effects like this one (which is really an exponential hitter) will be a real painful thing to feel in the youknowwhere
actually a lot of cards will benefit from a format with a godawful amount of life by keeping power levels of cards like bolt and flame jav in check (if you have 40 life, burn is much less powerful, though infect will still stand tall)
I'm loving all three of these. The vampire is a really cool way to do a Vampire lord, the Beast herd is an awesome Future Sight style card engine, and the berserker is a very nice aggressive creature, especially if Lightning Bolt is going to be biting the dust (three toughness starts to look a lot more attractive).
Its seems like wizards was looking at standard and said to themselves "OK whats the cheapest deck to play competitively . . . RDW's is like 100 dollars to build. OK well lets give them a awesome planeswalker so THEY'll have to spend alot of money to be competitive to!!! We don't want people dodging those mythics!!"
He's no Vampire Nocturnus. I don't like his conditional buff and the fact he could have been that much better. I understand WOTC didn't want to repeat Baneslayer Angel power for the same cost, but come on, at least give him lifelink, he's a vampire! The art is the best thing to come from that card. Not even sure it'll be played but we'll see.
Garruk Legion screams Commander. Otherwise good in limited or draft I think.
Berserker is awesome because he basically reads 'cant block me' most of the time.
Oh and you didn't even read the post the person your quoting was responding to because your response had nothing to do with it. Good job on just randomly typing a sentence. I swear, does anyone EVER read posts on this board, because it really doesn't seem like it at all.

Vampire won't see much play if any at all. Hes a 5 mana dumbo who can easily whiff as a 3/3 flying elephant, yet he requires turn 6 to do anything at all and requires you to either screw your tempo or be in topdeck mode or be overextended, making him the "day of judge me now"-pire.
Nocto could come down a turn earlier and give your other vamps +2/+1 and flying. This comes down a turn later, doesn't do anything that turn, doesn't help any previous drops, and *requires* previous drops, and the drops after it that benefit don't get anything until two turns later (and require another bonk to the head).

i know there are a lot of TRIBES but what i meant was try to make an edh tribal deck and see where that gets you.

I run a tribal edh deck, and I've played against several. There's plenty of cards. And the person you quoted was responding to a person saying because of the curve there should be a format where your life total was 40 (I do believe he was being facetious). Yes he didn't directly quote him, but the arrows pointing up the the post directly above it kind of implys he was responding to that specific post. Your response had nothing to do with it. Unless I'm totally missing something (it is late, which means I've been drinking)

The warrior looks interesting, almost a 3/3 1R unblockable? Works wonder in legacy with Fanatic, attack, sacrifice to kill hierarch/arbor, put 3/3 unblockable into play. *go scribble*

prob with edh is that there aren't enough tribal cards to make an efficient 100 card singleton deck around

Why there are no date printed, unlike the usual pre release card?

What?
Elves, vampires, Druids, wizards, soilders, cats, dragons.... Ect. There's plenty.

Current decks:
Legacy: Dead Guy Ale
Standard: Mono White Control
MTGO: Mono White Knights
Seems like a strong case for a new garruk IMO.
