I was just revamping my Intet deck to work around counters and creatures, and then this guy gets previewed not even an hour after I finish the shell.
Intet, she just got demoted.
I'm torn between the wedge color deck and going wild with artifact creature shenanigans. Affinity'ing into Kozilek or Ulamog or Blightsteel would be sweet. I guess I'll have to build both.

Underling Ethu's 263rd report read simply "Yes, my lord.Overwhelmingly, my lord." This marked the end of the Mirran-Phyrexian War.
Yeah, artifact creatures become crazy when they start going infinite. Removing all the lands from your deck or getting a 1,000/1,000 Arcbound Crusher are the least of the things possible with this guy.
Kind of gives every creature affinity. Insane, makes for some crazy combo decks. I was already excited for the RUG deck, but wow.

Quote from Fry, from Futurama »
It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came and the grasshopper died and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?

I apologize for bursting people's bubble, but Cloudstone Curio only works for non-artifact permanents. In other words, the only creatures that can go infinite through Animar and the Cloudstone are the Eldrazi (not that the Eldrazi are bad creatures).
One way that you can go infinite off of the Animar/Cloudstone, though is with the Priest of Urabrask and any other red creature with only one red symbol in its cost. Infinite red mana and infinite triggers from whatever the other creature does (which can be infinite damage with quite a number of things).

Not one mention of Aluren/Aether Adept yet? Finish the storm with Mind's Desire? Come on guys! We're trying to BREAK it, not take it for a walk!!
I wish they were going to print REGULAR-SIZED foils of these. It's tragic that there's no plans for that yet (That we know of). I'll have to commission extended-border ones or something...
I think that it's more simple than that: Animar + Deck.
That seems pretty damn good. Of course you do crazy combos, but he just feels like an all-around solid creature that has a built in synergy with the second most played card type in EDH.
I know he's coloured so it's not infinite, but Dream Stalker seems like an efficient way to power this guy up, and a decent blocker in the early game to boot (assuming you have other CITP effects to recur... which I assume you do in a RUG commander deck :).
This guy is amazing, works well with any colorless creature (I'm thinking about abusing him for free EldraziTitans. ) plus his color combination lets you back him up with counter shenanigans (Doubling Season anyone?) wonderful card all around.

I could have sworn there were other creatures that could do this, but I'm nearly through blue and I haven't found anything else that only costs one coloured mana. Are there any?
I'd be down for Doubling Seasons... provided I could get one for under $20
Maybe WotC will be awesome and include one in one of the decks.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

I love the creativity behind this creature. Nice casting cost at a low, low three mana. Could get pretty beefy, pretty fast. Throw a Rancor and a Greaves on him and let him pound my opponent into bits. In that particular order of course.

Equilibrium/Cloudstone Curio + Shrieking Drake was one of my favorite combos in Momir Vig, I'm going to guess it's going to be just as degenerate in Animar. And of course all of the Aluren combos (including the drake). Also worth mentioning almost every Momir Vig deck just got a third color with a new front-man. My Momir will happily work for his new master.
Intet, she just got demoted.

Looking for a card alterer that takes commissions specifically on a blank playmat. PM me please.

Err..curio doesn't work with artifact stuff.

Or perhaps don't, because the lattice doesn't change cost symbols, just how you spend mana.
