If that's literal, then I sense a major illusion theme beyond M12, probably somewhere in Innistrad. It seems pretty apparent if you read between the lines that Mist's return would be outlandish and silly...since it wouldn't be random and meaningless, it makes sense to conclude that it is because Mist returning would make something stupid happen (Illusions as a tribe be overpowered, perhaps).
Hardly conclusive proof, but it's something worth keeping an eye on.
As explained in other threads, the "Krovikan" reference made its chances nil even if they wanted to push illusions- it would almost certainly had been a functional reprint
(and yes, there are notable exceptions- but they avoid it as a rule)
Nah, that's not really a problem. After all, we just had Vulshok Berserker in M11 and that's much more jarring to the "traditional fantasy feel" than mentioning Krov, which is a pretty standard sort of place (and on Dominaria, which already has specific callouts in Core Set flavor text).
And Kalonian Behemoth, which hails from some unkown plane. Core Sets can certainly reference specific locations.
I doubted it would be in because it alongside Lord of the Unseen seemed like too much Illusion Tribal for a core set. Sometimes less-noteworthy tribes get lords, such as Knight Exemplar in M11. Not anything else in that set that helps Knight tribal.
I feel so dissapointed. Yet as long as they support illusions with some worthwhile cards that really make me feel like the tribe is worth looking into besides a lord, a bear, and a dragon; I will definatly consider playing this tribe.

Vampire Nocturnus was pretty 'meh' until Zendikar hit. Steel Overseer was good before Scars - but not in Standard. I expect Tribal - Illusion will get more love in Innistrad than in M12 if that trend continues. Illusions seem more in line with gothic horror themes than Merfolk, so it's a strong possibility.
For Illusions to be a full tribe, hope they become more interesting than skulking ability and hexproof.
Of the 68 Illusions on Gatherer, a huge number have variations on 'flicker' or unblockable, There's space there to make them distinct.
The other common abilities is the optional changleling ability on all the Mistform creatures (unlikely to return) and cumulative upkeep (even more unlikely to return).
nice to hear hate to pull 10 off that card again on my packs
Yeah... I have a couple dozen that someone used to pad a bulk commons/uncommons box that I bought at my LGS's biannual auction. The last thing in the world that I need is more of 'em.

Thanks to Coldsnap being a tiny set designed for drafting, and specifically getting multiples of certain cards, people use these bastards as coasters.
why would anyone ever think it would be in ? i'm pretty sure we could have like 9k topics of "confirmed out" cards....
Card was in DoTP2012, and would have gone very well with the confirmed M12 illusions lord. This caused some speculation on what other illusions might be reprinted, since right now there's very few. That's why people thought Krovikan Mist was a possibility. Shame it isn't!

in addition to the above, it also fit with the name and number crunch. which if you havent started looking at it, its more than just numbers. it tells what cant be in the set and what could be based on casting cost and names. more people should look at both during spoiler season, not just the actual spoiler.

They were awesome in drafts though.
