Wizards is not stupid, they would never print a green vindicate without knowing for sure its power level is not too high.
I'll also add that there are not many costly mythics, the sword, maybe karn, and the imbalanced equipment (in standard). Any other pricey mythic?
All five of the Praetors will likely fetch $8-10 initially as people try to snatch them up for generals in EDH, and will probably fall no lower than $2-3.
Phyrexian Obliterator (super Negator) will likely fetch a pretty penny, especially initially (presales put him at $25 I think), and probably fall to Blightsteel levels later
Batterskull is stupid good. Expect Baneslayer prices on this thing.
Karn will definitely be a lot, since not only is he a very playable walker, but he's playable in ANY deck. Even if you just play him as an exiling Spine of Ish Sah that also soaks an attack, that's worthwhile.
Sword of War and Peace will be fairly costly, as it makes Mirran Crusader, and thus Caw-Go, amazingly good
I could see Etched Monstrosity going for a fair amount. Probably not money mythic level, but he is pretty impressive.
Basically, expect Karn to be going for more than Tezz, Sword to be going for about what FaF is going for, Batterskull going for a similar amount, and Oblit probably leveling out around Blightsteel levels.

let me stop you right there. I'm not going to say wizards is stupid. But i will say, and wizards R&D has admitted this. that they do make some pretty stupid mistakes. and they do sometimes print cards and interactions that do unintended things that warp the format. this is inevitable with teh number of cards they print and that have been printed.
EXAMPLE: no one at wizards caught the interaction between vivid lands and reflecting pools. thus making the lorwyn mana-base broken. they have admitted this was a mistake.
Omg, Batterskull is SO SO overpowered, I'm amazed people are not talking about it as much as it deserves. Big staple in standard, specially with SFM, but also without him. Only downside is that it's not very viable in legacy :(.

its going to see play. we know. the fact remains its basically a beat stick. an amazing beat stick. but a beat stick non-the-less. there's also the matter that so much info was released we have no idea half of what could now be feasible, and how so many different cards will effect the format. usually we would get these cards spread out to analyze one at a time, now we have them all at once, so theres a lot to cover beyond Loxodon warhammer on a stick. (which we all can see its uses pretty easily)
To be honest.. I'm kinda disappointed in the new sword.. Yeah it's good but it's nothing new, there was already a damage dealer and life gain.. So the swords boring to me...
For the few posters who said they were sad for Wizards; suck it up. Frankly, there's no way this is going to hurt them beyond forcing them to change their marketing agendas. I think publicly (i.e. on the mothership site) they won't even address it, and you'll just see crotchety tweets from MaRo and other WotC notables about it. It's definitely not going to hurt sales; in fact, I bet this spoiler going out doubles or triples pre-orders. The reason is that this set isn't Homelands - this set is incredibly strong.
The *only* complaint I have about the set (and its not much of a complaint); there seem to be more money uncommons than money mythics!

I love the many of the commons and uncommons in this set. the rares however are lackluster. As a whole I think thats a good thing. wont have to bother spending much on this set.

This doesn't go very far towards helping me believe that.
Also, just noticed Myr Superion only works with creature-generated mana, not creature-card-generated mana. Chancellor of the Tangle lucky turn 1 casts = no. D:
It also works with the new Priest of Gix, and hes free if you have semblance anvil on creature or artifact It will probably see the most play in Vial decks though, its like a late game tarmogoyf... only early game.
Batterskuller, even insanely powerfull, should not fetch too high prices, you don't want too many in your deck, probably will be fine with 1 and 4 SFMs.
The myr is not good in vial decks unless the deck has more ways to put it into play. Maybe as a 1-of, because you have to have 1 vial in play to be able to play the card, otherwise it's a dead card in your hand.
This takes me back to Onslaught days and all the times we had the complete spoiler weeks in advance of the pre-release. This is a joyous time. Sad was having to wait until a day or two before the pre-release to know what the cards are that I'm going to be playing with. And to say something controversial, sad was having to try to figure out riddles to figure out what cards do. If people liked the riddles, how come it never got its own thread for people to enjoy?
This is better for the competitive players as they can proxy out cards and test deck designs. This is great for casual players as they can throw together random decks and just have fun. This is even better for retailers as they can start to get a feel for what the initial market is going to look like. People are going to hype certain cards up to values they shouldn't reach, and people will undervalue cards that should reach higher values. Just watch E-bay in the next few days as cards from this "book" are put up for pre-sale. Like Eron said a few posts up, hype = pre-orders. This will help inflate the market early which will mean it balances out sooner. Which I think is a good thing for everyone.

Agreed, there is little doubt this "leak" was intentional. This is clearly a marketing strategy many companies are employing nowadays, especially in the video game industry. It's basically free advertising for them and increases the hype for people like us who are hardcore enough that we visit the forums regularly. Make no mistake, this was done on purpose by WotC.
I was reading on another site that god books are a focus group tool, used to help refine a set. The god book spoiled has a date of early January. So there's no garauntee that changes weren't made, cards dropped, card added, etc in the final version.
That was a 1-mana blue instant that destroyed any creature but left a 3/3 body behind, and it saw close to zero (if not entirely zero) play in Standard in its day.
Pongify was creatures only, and there was no Planeswalkers in PC
Who gives a crap about 2 for one or 3 for 1. If you don't deal with Jace, you're going to lose. Card advantage means jack when you lose the game.

To be fair, this was the perfect set for this to happen. I think sales would've been adversely affected if this had happened in SOM or MBS.
wellll.... Jace. Rancored Elf's leak of some time ago pretty much molested their dignity
in any case, i like the set purely for the interesting phybrid T1 cycle, the mini golem splicer cycle, and the fact that they are making uncommons and commons VERY usable and in some cases more potent than some rares
i think for once we just might see commons and uncommons go for more than £0.99 for four on ebay with extras thrown in
I wouldn't doubt that this "leak" could have been on purpose. With all the hype leading up to this "mysterious" set...Pure...New...Pure...New.... (what's it going to be?) it isn't too far fetched that they would let something like this happen. But with the initial spoilers and then the "mechanics" spoiler it makes it a little less likely as it seems to feel like it is part of that "slow roll" that Wizards likes to do during spoiler season.
I don't see how sales would have been adversely affected though had this happened with the previous two sets. I've never seen (and someone feel free to point me to the contrary) adverse affects on sets when we had all the cards spoiled. I can remember driving up to the Onslaught pre-release and going over each card individually with my friend on the way up. And as far as I could tell, it didn't have any negative fall out for being released that early.

Wow, this set seems awesome...so many GOOD and POWERFUL uncommon and common cards!! it's great! !!!!!!uncommons!!!!!!
The mythics are fine too, i only feel weird about the artifact mythics...
Etched Monstrosity seems...not mythic worthy, powerful but it could be easily a rare,
Batterskull looks pretty powerful, makes use of living weapon fully! DA LIVING WEAPON!
big equip and mana cost though, it is a beast with stoneforge, i hope it will have low price so i can get a copy for my casual equips :l i think it's good mythic
and the last sword...it's so-so but it was to be expected, not everything can be awesome, at least it's not bad
And the rares are very interesting, they are getting new/interesting mechanics/design-space going, lovin it, easily the best set of the three!
im getting a little scared with all the Phyrexian mana giving access to any colour to kill creatures/counter/whatever is really dangerous for the game, but i hope that wizards know what they are doing, none of the phyrexian cards seem too powerful, the red one is actually underpowered though, red mages are sad!
Nice and VERY interesting set overall, i think that all the casuals are very excited, and it offers MANY useful/powerful cards to constructed and ALL the formats..! that means something doesnt it..?
I haven't read through the entire thread but...if this is real, and it does look real, would this be the worst leak since Judgement? (I think it was judgement that had the whole set spoiled months before pre-release.)
the red one is actually underpowered though, red mages are sad!
Nearly ALL of the Red cards in this set are horribly underpowered, not just the PhyRed ones. The one card that should be beastly -- Slag Fiend -- really isn't because, despite this being Scars of Mirrodin block, there just aren't ever enough arties in the yard for it to matter unless you're fighting Tempered Steel or something.

That is always said, and it never really changes. Wizards markets off of spoilers. That is their hype. That is the driving force behind their product.
