You can't even read the Mirrodin Pure text. They should have put more effort into the fake.
That's because the text colour blends into the background. Of course it's going to be hard to read light yellow or white text when it's a white background.
That doesn't confirm whether or not it's fake, it's just a poor art choice, which they're bound to make because they aren't infallible machines.
I thought fat pack art was promotional (except the zendikar one), does that mean one is going to be scrapped since they both have karn? Or will it be used for something else?
I like it how Alloy Myr is on one of the MP boosters with Puresteel Paladin and a big grey golem (Karn?). NP boosters include Suture Priest, Sheoldred and what seems to be the blue Praetor.
They aren't going to name a set "mirrodin pure" that has more phyrexian cards than any other set in this block. If mirrodin besieged had been 80% phyrexian then there might be some mystery as to what the third set would be called, but instead they've made sure it'd take total suspension of all logic, reason, and disregard for reality and basic math for one to think Mirrodin Pure will see the light of day. There's no need for hard evidence that the next set is New Phyrexia (5 legendary phyrexians doesn't count I guess) but that doesn't matter when there's plenty of evidence against Mirrodin Pure. When Scars came out it was clearly stated that the phyrexians would be in lower numbers at the start of the block and only get larger with each set. So, the next set would be Mirrodin Pure if a. they lied b. they name the set Mirrodin Pure despite New Phyrexia being the more appropriate name. The argument for Mirrodin Pure at this point is literally "I want the set to be called Mirrodin Pure" and hand waving of all evidence to the contrary as deception so massive and long term that I imagine the conspiracy theorists here aren't even going to believe it when someone takes a photograph of the physical product and posts it here.
I don't care for New Phyrexia's scheme but at least it doesn't take better than 20/20 vision to read it. For some reason I was expecting it to use these colors http://sales.starcitygames.com/carddisplay.php?product=234265 and it's really weird that ever since "New Phyrexia" was copyrighted I had a mental image of the set's color template that clashes so badly with the preview.

So can you just link me to the info that explicitly says this? How do you know they're going to do an 80/20 split? They could do a 50/50 split again. You could be right, but I feel like the logic is arbitrary unless they've come out and said "The third set will be 80/20.", and even then it could go back in favor of the Mirrans, even despite the Praetors being in the set.
I don't KNOW if that's true, but that's the point. I don't say I'm 100% sure on anything that's speculative, no matter how probable, and it's not like Wizards hasn't thrown a few curve balls in their day; it's Speculative at this point, so leave it at that.

It was Mark Rosewater who said that the phyrexians would be small to begin with, in regards to the low ratio of them in the scars of mirrodin set. The third set is 70-80 phyrexian because balance demands it. That's the number it would take to split the block 50/50 between the factions. Anything less would result in favoring the non-phyrexian colors to the point that the phyrexian faction would have no reason to exist in the block at all.

Your argument is that WotC might do something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever on any level. The evidence for New Phyrexia is so blatant that people are now convincing themselves that it's too blatant so it must be a trick. The only reason anyone at all thinks the third set would be called Mirrodin Pure is because WotC told them to think it. Going into this block we knew about New Phyrexia and we knew based on the numbers that one of the sets had to be heavily phyrexian for the sake of making the block coherent.
In conclusion, to argue for Mirrodin Pure is to argue that Wizards of the Coast are idiots who made a badly designed, poorly thought out block and decided to hype the set by putting tons of effort into making sure as many people as possible are aware of how incredibly stupid the design team is. Make the Mirrodin Pure box unreadable! Make sure Mirrans have a huge advantage over phyrexians just to mess with people! They totally wouldn't think we'd do something that stupid, but it'll totally shock them when it turns out we ARE that stupid! HIGH FIVE screw phyrexia fans they get less cards just because they'd never see it coming! And no other reason whatsoever! Mirrodin doesn't change at all it's the same at the end as if this story never happened! People will LOVE it!

Well they did create mythic rarity so...I agree with what you're saying though for the most part, and I do think it's a little cruel of them to keep on with the charade. I'll be relieved when it's all over and I can embrace my third set happily.
Well, they aren't being very subtle about it are they?
Action is confirmed as New Phyrexia.
The mirrodin pure mockups have the wrong colors of packs:
The NP packs are properly colored. There are four U/G packs in the MP one.
Don't really have the time to read every post but this doesn't prove a thing. I imagine that there will be precons for both factions no matter who wins. AND I would focus more on the fact that MP only has 4 precons and NP has 5. Not one MP precon has the white symbol on top. Now normally this would be a HUGE clue. But since MB only had 4 precons it definatly keeps it muddled.

My work schedule requires me to work several doubles, so it may take me a couple of days to respond to messages.
So Karn is both boxes but the new art for argent mutation shows Karns hand in an uncorrupted form. The pure packaging shows an uncorrupted Karn, while the new phyrexia shows him in his corrupted form.
Look closely at the differences in his hands between his old school self, and his corrupted form on corrupted conscience, etc. The argent mutation art very plainly shows him uncorrupted, not to mention its a Mirran poster.
Since the Mirrodin Pure packaging is the only other artwork so far to show him uncorrupted, I'm thinking pure.
oh and as for the preconstructed packs, the two infront are the randomly inserted ones to make for a total of 10. The black/red precon adjacent to the blue/green also shows up 3 times.
Doesn't seem too unlikely that there will be only 4 preconstructs again. Seems more unlikely that wizards would give away a new set with probably the most identifiable error.
Part of me still thinks were going to have a Shadowmoor/Eventide thing going on here, which i dont think I'd mind. They say Action isnt both, but maybe one then the other.

If anything we've learned after years of spoiler season... art can mean piddlesquat. Last season everyone was sure we had us a corrupted Karn on our hands... best set ever OMG! Guess what... it was a spell. Happens every season... awesome creature! I want that art foil! I can't wait to play with that crazy looking thing! Crap common, junk rare, limited filler...

I agree that this doesn't prove anything yet. I guess people have to speculate with what they have but the wait can't be that much longer. Patience please people.
Honestly, both of them seem likely. It is easy to say the white one looks like a crappy mock up because it is white and pure looking by design and it makes it look as if less effort was put into it.
I will personally be happy with whatever set it ends up being...

Never judge a set by its art...
yes, but art or not, it still appeared in the set. And everywhere karn shows up in besieged, hes corrupted.(theres no conflicting versions of him i.c. normal/uncorrupted)
My point is that more than likely there will be some sort of changeover that will return him to uncorrupted form, making the box art on new phyrexia very unlikely.
Overall, I still think Karn will get a significant role in action since his escape seems likely. And the fact that he gets alot of face time, is referenced in multiple flavor texts, etc.
Also, every recent fat pack seems to show important cards in the set. Besieged has tezz, rise is planewalkers, same with scars, etc. If Karn does exist on both fat packs as the main image, then he obviously plays a significant role. Karn playing a significant role on the Mirran side is much, much more likely than his corrupted self who continues to rot in his chair.
Karn as a significant character greatly reduces the odds of him showing up as corrupted and uncorrupted at the same time.(example: argent mutation art/new phyrexia fat pack art)

I get what you're saying, and there is no denying that Karn appears in this set even if it's just in art. I just get really bored of people reading too into the packaging and then once things get revealed it ends up being something like Precursor Golum. Happens all the time, and we deal with 2-3 months of people frothing at the mouth. It's just been really bad this time because of this silly gimmick, and there is so much misinformation.
Sorry to take it out on you, I certainly wasn't trying to pick on anyone. Let's just say I'll be THRILLED once the set is revealed. Then we just have to deal with 3-4 months of OMG VAMPIRE BLOCK NEXT!!!

It's funny to me that people are wishing it was Mirrodin Pure based on the packaging of boxes and wrappers that would be going into your garbage can and that you've never cared about before.

Who cares what the boxes look like?
That's what I said pages ago. Then again when has most the Rumor Mill user base had any sense? I could understand maybe wanting the card boxes that would come with the fatpacks, but otherwise it's laughable that people care so much about plastic that they're going to throw in the trash and forget about as soon as they're done opening their product.
I still think they will pull a fast one on us and call it Phyrexian Pure, where in a cataclysmic event the Mirrans, through great sacrifice, have purified the taint of Phyrexia and thus scaring the Phyrexians with what they deem as a "taint" of Mirran.
More or less both will become one new race.

Yeah, people are referring to the fat packs. Of course no one cares about the boosters. But a sexy new white box to hold decks in is always nice..
And in case you forgot, SOME people are still rooting for Mirrans.
Makes a little more sense then. I forgot about the fat pack boxes. Although I've always found them extremely useless for being too small.
Too small for what? A fat pack box holds six 60 card decks that aren't in deck boxes. They hold 3 deck boxes with space leftover for a 60 card deck. They hold 3 EDH decks.
I have around 16 decks currently, including 3 EDH and they all fit in 4 boxes.

Yes, yes. They clearly said to whoever designed Mirrodin Pure "do a crappy art, it won't be released anyways."

NOT!
