Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
wasnt the new father of the machines referred to someone with many arms and legs? maybe pic 9 is the new father of the machines? although, karn does seem quite phyrexian in his picture

The "Many-Legged-One" is something different. We still don't have a good idea of who/what it is.
Same. I wish Wizards would commission him to do something that wouldn't look appropriate with the usual style he's put on so many of his action pieces, such as Nyxathid, Kresh, the Bloodbraided, or Vengevine. Mycoloth was a good touch, as well as Vastwood Animist, but he needs more chance to show the breadth of his ability, and Wizards doesn't seem keen on giving him that chance.
Well multiple Infect guys are getting killed in that picture, so maybe it's more of multi-targeter?
I thought of that to and it is Koth firing that off, but the picture does show only one creature getting nailed, the rest are standing there (hopefully if it is like spitting earth it's an instant this time).
Man, I dont think I realized how much I missed Phyrexians!
Sooo... does that poison symbol generally mean they have Infect? Or just allied with the phyrexians? Because Im terrified if that is a Darksteel creature with Infect.

My first thought was either Spitting Earth or Jaws of Stone, since both fit KoTH's mechanics so well, though I'd be surprised to see Jaws of Stone get reprinted so soon, plus the artwork isn't quite right.
Surprised to see Karn already showing up in the artwork for this set. My bet: that artwork belongs to something related to what's holding him in that quasi-throne. I wouldn't be surprised to see Planeswalker Karn show up in the third set, with Mirrodin Pure's version being something like Karn, Restored and New Phyrexia's being Karn, Father of Machines. Or maybe this is it and they'll just go mythic legend. Who knows?
Really hoping that Elf is a corrupted Glissa. If it turns out that corrupted Glissa = Sheoldred, all the better.
Big thumbs up to new, Rob Zombie-esque Tezzeret. He'll almost certainly end up being the card I buy way too much of this set chasing instead of just buying the damn single.
On that note, this might be the first time since Planar Chaos where I end up buying more of a small set than of the big, block-defining set (technically I bought a lot more Rise than Zendikar, but as another big set that doesn't really count). Things actually look interesting on Mirrodin again.
Curious. I wasn't expecting Karn to make an appearance till the third set. Though, perhaps the events depicted in the card come at the end of the events of MBS.
Admittedly, that Neurok art by Terese Nielsen is pretty damn cool.
And I swear, if those bony Phyrexian figures near the bottom of the page had an extra pair of arms, they would most definitely be Eldrazi.
(...Actually, I want to see that now. Eldrazi titans altered by Phyrexian science...!)
EDIT: Actually, now that I look at the art again, they appear to have an extra set of arm bones wrapped in their flesh. They just might be Phyrexian Eldrazi!
I've probably already been super-'Nath'd here, but oh well.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

This is the Phyrexia-Symbol. Can be found in lots of old artworks. And damn, it sure has been a long time. I missed them, too. Brings back memories. I really thought they wouldn't get the art style, after what they did in Scars. But this lets me hope.
#4 looks like a poison smith.
#5: 3BB, 2/5, infect, reach. Even the spider has the (|)! By the way, we need a (|)-Phyrexia-Symbol-Smiley.
#9 looks a lot like Warhammer. It's awesome.
Kharn is Geth in cool. And these are just creepy. Woah.
Looks more like a Phyrexian Rager. Glad to see that some original designs still show up once in a while. Probably because they were so effective.
I dont care what the cards are.
The art is phenomenal. So phenomenal.
Bravo to whoever did whichever. Really.

Also, that is definetly a Corrupted Glissa. Just compare the art.

This art makes me respect the game of Magic even more than before.

If we got more stuff on Magic cards like this?

That Karn picture makes me so happy, he's one of my favorite characters.
The Phyrexian Praetors also look incredibly amazing.

I really hope Phyrexian Rager is in. Loved that card back then.
Glissa = Sheoldred would be cool.
