What? No. Wolverine's entire bone structure was coated in metal, including his bone claws.
But an interesting observation nonetheless. Could Koth actually be Wolverine?
Haha. Good one.
But you know what I mean. So far except for the obvious artifact-y things, we've seen pictures of people and wurms and such. So far this Mirrodin looks more fleshy. I'm suggesting people are adapting to not having metal on their bodies. Of course I've been wrong in the past.

Both closeups of Mirrodin-native humans we've seen have metal in their anatomy; Koth and the Auriok female.
The people that play legacy / vintage always amuse me. They want their formats to be represented more. They want more tournaments. But when anyone suggests allowing more people access to the formats by reprinting cards, the same people start screaming about the reprint policy.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
Demon with whom Liliana dealt: Kothophed (~2007)
New planeswalker in/from Mirrodin: Koth (2010)
Really, Creative, have you run out of “cool”-sounding fantasy names already? I’m sorry to focus on the negative, but that really upsets me.
Upsets you? They're phonetically distinct, unless you would insist on pronouncing Kothophed as if it were Koth-ophed. The similarity in spelling is purely superficial.
Anyway...
* I love the upgraded Etched Oracle. Having blades for arms makes her look a lot deadlier.
* Koth appears to be from Mirrodin (see Vulshok), note the metallic-looking hair and spiky gauntlets. (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/arcana/611). I'd wager that he's a red planeswalker that specializes in smashing face and reckless destruction. But that's just my guess.
* While blue and green are the two colors I'm least interested in being protected from, I think the new sword is fantastic.
* The woman in white and gold is examining the skull and spinal column of a myr. If the coloration is meant to suggest a Gold Myr, then I'd say that this is a white creature. But then, what might she do?
If it's meant to communicate her function, then she could be a white creature that produces or filters mana (and it would explain why she's standing around in the Glimmervoid). If so, how unusual. Something like Helionaut would give white access to other colors of mana, which is useful if they're bringing back Sunburst.
Does the new art remind anyone else of orim's chant or is it just me.
Because I have a strong feeling about it that reminds me of orim's chant.
flavor and continuity be damned, I think it's orim's chant

That Sword is pretty sweet standardsauce. With the gradual rise of green in standard with Vengevine, etc., +2/+2 and pro-green is sickness. Also, I know nothing to little of older formats, but pro-Tarmogoyf seems solid too.
Does anyone know anything about Koth? Possible color alignment?

He's a Vulshok tribe human, which have traditionally been red, so I'm assuming he'll be red.

When I first saw Koth I thought Kresh the Bloodbraided. Because of this and his dark form and glowing red eyes (and shoulder...?) I'd say R or B, possibly both, but unlikely as we have Sarkhan the Mad.
Perhaps the return heralds the coming of the Omegatog!:o.
One can only hope..:)
Or even a Gigatog. I really hope we get at least one more in Scars block. I don't mean to derail this into speculation, but all the art we've seen shows races/cultures from before. Seems like they are all on the table.
The only one I wonder about are Vedalken. Now that Merfolk have legs, can they be given an extra pair of arms?
sword of fire and ice and sword of light and shadow are both much more powerful. Because protection from red, black and white (removal, removal and more removal) is better than protection from blue (what do you fear, bounce? lol) and green (only to get past creature). And because draw+damage or life+pick-from-GY are both better than token+mill.
Mill is irrelevant most of your games. The wolf is a very good ability but that's not enough to make the sword on par with its ancestors overall.
While I agree with you that protection from removal is better in almost every regard, you also have to consider the direction that Standard seems to be moving. When Alara rotates it is safe to assume that Jace, Vengevine and Primeval Titan are going to be among the cards to beat, even with an entire set of unknowns coming in.
I have this strong feeling that Koth is a Red Planeswalker and one of his minus abilities may be to destroy target land? No idea yet what his plus ability is, I have a feeling it will be a global effect though. KOTH is also an abbreviation of King of the Hill. We haven't had any multiplayer-style Planeswalkers yet, I just have this feeling Koth is going to fit that niche.
The sword is pretty interesting but I honestly don't like it. Not only did they word the card in the most confusing and retarded way, but they also bring even more milling cards to the table which scares me a bit. Milling decks have to be the most frustrating to play against, I really don't want to see a lot of them popping up in Standard, but it looks like Hedron Crab found a new toy. Don't really get the 2/2 Wolf thing, that's puzzling. Since when do wolves have anything to do with discard? Whatever.
Koth looks like a Vulshok. Awesome!!
That probably means he will be red, which might mean that red gets a good planeswalker.
I hope that sunburst doesn't appear as a huge theme, although from the new art it looks like its coming back to some degree.
I was just hoping that wizards would lay off of multicolored themes for just a while.
Sword bites. It makes me a sad panda; I really hoped it would be on par with SoLS if not SOFI.
Koth will clearly be red, as he's obviously Vulshok. It's a good thing, as red needs a new PW, and Chandra 2 sux so she doesn't count. However, I continue to nuture my hope that he might be green: Garruk is great, but Nissa was terrible flavor-wise (elves weren't very tribal in that set, so a tribal PW was a bad idea) so I'd love to see a new green PW.
Even if he is only red, there's still a bright side: he's much more likely to be concerned with creatures (a la Garruk) than chandra was. Makes for an interesting concept in red

Proud to be a Christ follower!
Here's a few reasons:
John 3:16 John 8:12 1 Peter 2:24 James 1:12-13
Hebrews 13:8 Ephesians 6:10-17 Psalm 86:8-10
It is incredibly lazy on creative's part. UNLESS Koth is Ophed in human form trying to trick Elspeth. Somebody make a thread about that.
EDIT:
Speaking of which, has it been determined how Mirrodin has life on it again?

After 10 pages, yes something like that will have been said.
Ok 2 things need to be added to the OP.
1. Sunburst art looks a lot like Etched Oracle
2.Koth is a Vulshok Planeswalker that will probably be red.
Then we can stop having posts that do nothing more then to bring up one of these two things again.
