I don't see him as big threat. Although I don't know how Jund will deal with him... I guess they will play some vampires who are able to kill him.
Those all work. When O-Ring and Journey come into play, Emrakul goes takes a short vacation. I like that he only has Pro Spells, but I also like the Annihilator 6. Cheating him into play is going to be my new deck building challenge.
Overall, I really like the design and feel for this Eldrazi.
Limited is going go be so full of tactical nukes it is not going to be funny. also to the op when did you got this in the mail and what was your foil man i been crossing my fingers for BSA textless so i can finally say i own one.
I wouldn't say Vampire Nighthawk really deals with him, since it would have to block him, meaning that Annihilator 6 goes off at least once. There isn't any competitive situation where that isn't going to be devestating.
Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
I think this is legit. As far as the annihilator 6 goes, look at walking atlas. It lacks the artifact type on the card, but it was ruled as an artifact creature. Very possible that this may be the case here and Wizards just simply forgot to add the text.
More like unfortunate that Wizards basically built for us a deck that is more masturbatory than turbomill...
Seriously, I doubt that an EldraziRamp deck really needs to do anything more than make a bee line for 15 mana and cast this dude.
Of course if it does become a serious problem, people can start running land destruction in the board
Anyway, thoughts on a valakut-eldrazi ramp archetype?
Turbo mill starts getting annoying on Turn 2 and keeps going until it either wins or loses. So far, there is nothing to indicate that Eldrazi.dec has anything going on until endgame. There is a huge difference. Even with Ramp, it's still obnoxiously slow without some kind of "Cheat into Play" like Summoner's Trap.
Honestly, the people getting excited about these creatures are going to make Jund just that much better.
Now all they need to do is reprint tron lands and then these Eldrazi doods can actually be cast! (/sarcasm).
I like that they reward you for actually casting them, but you can cheat them into play and still be content with what you got. Limited is going to be hilarious with people taking turns casting these guys.
As for the whole leveling thing, it seems a bit gimmicky to me...
Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
The casual crowd I hang out with is going to absolutely flip over Emrakul. Several of them threatened to quit Magic because Wizards printed "such a broken card as Kozilek."
Now, granted, Emrakul is much better than Kozilek in terms of abilities; it nearly invalidates the "dies to removal" argument, it WILL hit the table if you can cast it, and unless they have a flier to block with, they're gonna be taking fifteen damage and sacrificing six permanents during your EXTRA TURN.
What my friends (and most casual players, really) fail to realize is that fifteen mana is a LOT, though. I really don't see why they think they can hard-cast Emrakul in their decks full of basic lands and Terramorphic Expanses.
The only deck in Standard that even has a chance of running this guy is Eldrazi Green or some sort of Polymorph build. I'm not as familiar with Legacy to know what sorts of shenanigans people would come up with, but seeing as how Legacy encompasses nearly all of Magic, I would imagine people have quite a few options.
(I'm not quite sure why I'm ranting here. You're all probably well aware of this, already.)
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I'd like to introduce you to someone. His name is Wall of Omens. Say hi, Wall of Omens!
So, Wall of Omens, how do you think you're going to affect standard? What's that, you say? You're going to slot right into an already-established UW Control archetype, and improve the deck's matchup against Jund significantly? Wow, bold words there Wall of Omens.
I think a biggest creature with broken abilities but not broken card.....people would rather do this
Baneslayer Angel > Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
I guess not compareable to a degree but brokeness you can
True BSA is better due to the 5cmc but with eye of ugin plus the new temple and who knows what else Im sure you could get this guy in nearly as fast, or just cheat him in with either summoning trap or elvish piper, and believe me if a piper sticks and you plop this guy down on their EOT they should instantly enter scoop mode. Either that or hand over the KY because its going to be a bumpy ride.
Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.
End of opponent' turn Summoning trap to this guy is still the nuts.
Don't tapout else the trap will get you. As awesome a play as Iona-trapped on turn 3.
Annhilator SIX! Fudge! End of you turn, trap. Oh, Mr. Awesome!
Attack! Sack Six.
Heck, I'd call the deck six-cease. (Six for summoning trap, cease for the french six which is the annhilator rating).
I'd call it that because the opponent ceases to have a chance of winning.

got my Playset of FNM Bloodbraids. I is Happy.
You'd need something like four Moonglove Extracts plus four Sculpting Steel.
(or pray you survive the 15 damage and the loss of six permanents to DoJ next turn.)

Still, expect to see Extract and Steel in M11. WU needs that tech.

WUBRGPauper Battle BoxWUBRG ... and why I am not a fan of Wayne Reynolds' Illustrations.
Agreed on both points.
"Level up" makes it not even feel like Magic anymore.
(Hooray, Pikachu hit level 4!)

with sneak attack he is hasted and coming at you on turn 2... to hell with the free turn, annihilator:6 just won you the game.

it's going to be madness at the kitchen table.
