1. Efficient for its cost: Check (15 for a 15/15 is right on the line).
2. Evasion: Check
3. Protection: Check (and uncounterable, for a little icing on the cake)
4. Absurdly swingy abilities: Check (Time Walk + nuke 6 permanents every swing seems pretty swingy to me)
5. Reanimatable: No check (Blast)
6. Be castable before I die: Unknown (need to see more Spawn token generators before I can judge)
Obviously getting to 15 mana is a stretch even for 8Post. I really have no idea how good this is. If you hardcast it, you're going to win barring your opponent casting Rout during your second turn, which isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility in Casual games. I think 15 is probably just a little too high.
Why does r&d hate counters! This, sominig trap. And they said in a daily mtg that they purpusly limit the limit of all counters, esspecially good ones.
Also if someone finds a combo to hardcast this on like t3 or 4, and then tells us here, they have a negitive iq. That has a chance to win in extended. Posibly.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Time flys like an arrow. Fruit flys like a banana.
Polymorph meet emrakul, emrakul meet polymorph. Who freakin cares if i dont get ant extra turn. Boo hoo. His abilities are enough that i wont need an extra turn to use this monstrosity to make my opponent cower in terror. You cant really kill this guy with removal as he has protection from colored spells. I think you can still DOJ him or other mass removal. I mean this guy is insane.
The level up card is neat the way they made the card a different style. This is just way to cool. I am going to a pre-release.
get Emrakul to the graveyard, stifle its leaves play effect, then drop a volrath's shapeshifter and get an Extra Turn! Most convoluted awesome combo ever!
So wait.... Sarkhan Vol Turn 4, Elvish Piper Turn 5, give haste with Vol, put Eldrazi into play, and attack? Man I want this card to be good, but it really feels like R&D sat down and said:
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders. #2 - WAIT!
#1 - How can you possibly have anything dumber?
#2 - It actually costs 13 with that eye thingamajiggy.
#1 - Y'know what #2, sometimes I think we're the smartest people in this room.
1 Dark Ritual
2 Thoughtseize (target yourself silly)
3 Emrakul goes to the yard for a hot minute
4 Use the other 2 mana and play shallow grave, lets go get Emrakul shall we?
5 Beat face with a 15/15 on turn one
Sucess rate very small. You probably wont get this kinda god hand often but you can build around this model and get the combo out at some point in the game.
RTFC, it cannot be targeted by colored spells, thus the most common mode of removal available are useless, unless you opt for Day of Judgement, Oblivion Ring and Journey to Nowhere, the problem is that they are white. Any other available removal other than in white are completely useless and not optimal in any deck.
I really like this card, it even has my birthday printed on the PR date

Well. I'll be going to both events. And it'll be my first release party. Seeing these cards has gotten me super-psyched for this set. And take a look at the name of the release card. What's more ominous than 'Lord of Shatterskull Pass?'
How does O-Ring get him? It targets.
Considering DOJ and annihilator are like all that can hit this guy... I like it.
My friends don't tho :<
I'm gonna beat their faces with him to prove a point.
Journey and O-Ring aren't spells once they're already in play.
But it is treated as a white ability, so it still can't do anything, cause its a white source, and thus covered by pro. colors. (Pro stops abilities & spells)

The ability states: Protection from colored spells.
Not Pro White, Not Pro colors, not pro abilities. The only thing this has protection from is just what it says: spells that are colored, and even though O ring et al target, the thing targeting is a triggered ability.

It has protection from colored spells; it does not have protection from colored permanents.
No one should have to correct you at this point but I guess urzassedatives' message to stop contributing to spam got lost among all the pages of banter.

oring is a permanent. this has been explained already...
Be he hasn't protection from color, but "only" protection from colored spells. The targeting part of O Ring is a triggered ability. Still sorcery speed doesn't deal with the time walk. The same goes for sweepers.
Fortunately ,no amount of normal acceleration is going to make a working deck that can use a 15-drop. But if your enemy cheats him into play it's "present a sweeper or exile enchantment or die".
oh lol, I need to read him better
I just saw "protection from all colors"
not the spells part.
Eh.
Still pretty cool.
Cheating him seems fairly plausible.
With lurking predators, call of the wild, and what not.
Casual, at least. I mean, yeah, no timewalk, but hes still hard to answer.
Haha, I have got to learn to read these better.
I think I've done the same thing with about 15 other cards so far. (Not reading fully and misunderstanding interactions)
Bleeeeh.
What can I say, its late and I was excited.
Now this thread needs 7 more pages so my asinine mistake can be forgotten when 4 other people ask the same thing.
Kozilek's on-cast ability draws a bunch of cards, like Ancestral Recall. Emrakul's gives a Time Walk. So what are the odds Ulamogg will give us a Timetwister?
Lady Luck: sounds like something that's probable, but I'm not sure if that would be the right ability for a 13/13 for 13. Then again, it still sounds right.
Emrakul: Sick if you get it out. End of story. Too bad it's also a 15 mana creature that gives you the turn only if you don't cheat it out. More ramping fun, I guess. lol
Leveler guy: Hill giant is meh. 6/6 for 6 is ok. Having to dump another 10 mana for the ability to nuke everything every turn is ok, erring on the side of weak.
