the white ally is amazing and cheap which gives us a great one drop. should easily make a white ally deck from it. using a play set of each of the 6 white allies and also the instant, should be good. probably also need to run path and journey to nowhere for removal or something else in white that is good. i think its a perfect deck
I'm looking more towards Bant Allies than mono white. I've thrown together a proxy deck with Bant allies (although it's really light on the blue, just the Sea Gate Loremaster for late game, and Wind Zendikon for fetch recursion)
In an eight player game, is anything good? Don't you just sit there countering combos until someone genesis waves for 42 after all the blue players tap out fighting over a bribery?
Yeah I know the piper, but that's a walking target. If someone lets me pop one of these out with that, they deserve to get beaten or they got really screwed. Well, I suppose the piper could be protected, but the trap seems more reliable, anyways...
I meant to say with haste, but I got kinda distracted. We'll never get Sneak Attack again(In standard), but something like Through the Breach would be nice. Five mana, destroy all creatures in play, deal 7 combat damage to an opponent. Yeah, but I will mostly play this in casual where I'll play it with Sneak Attack and blink effects as well!!
Wurm makes sense in G/W tokens as a late game finisher. You'll need an Eldrazi Monument though but hey by that point you're just sealing the game up anyways after two whacks with your token army.
Definitely considering the ally for White Weenie testing. It seems more reliable than Lynx and also is good on budget players who can't afford Fetches for said Lynx plus it's also a nicer Target for Ranger of Eos.
WOW. Love the big Wurm, White Green too. That fits in one of my EDH decks.
A 1 drop ally, we knew it was coming. He's pretty nice. 1/2 for 1 and can get bigger in ally. He'll only matter in weenie decks whether they be mono W or fast ally decks. Boros probably doesn't need him though. Bing a Soldier makes him relevant.

i did a bant ally deck back in zendikar. its a great deck. the biggest problem i had was the mana base from 3 colors. its the whole reason y i want to trim at least one color out. maybe make it go pure white or W/U for the draw option. white would be good if you can take all 8 fetches in to trim down the white in ur deck and make it creature heavy.
Wow world wake has multicolor beyond the dual man lands.
Novablast Wurm- It's stats and ability are great. A 7/7 for 7 in 2 colours is so so but when coupled to a attack and Day of Judgement ability it's enough to kill in 3 hits. This card just screams limited bomb, if you play it and they lack the answers(and there aren't that many commonly available removal that can deal with a 7 toughness creature in zendikar limited just Journey to Nowhere, Pitfall Trap, Gatekeeper of Malakir, Heartstabber Mosquito and Hideous End, 2 of which are uncommon and of teh commons only Journey and End are particularly playable) then you win.
Hada Freeblade- and the strength of allies just keeps rising. This card gives allies the ability to be a solid mono white deck. 1cc Hada Freeblade, 2cc Kazanda Blademaster, (maybe Ondu Cleric), 3cc Kabira Evangel, (maybe Makindi Shieldmate, 4cc Join the Ranks, Talus Paladin. That's 7 different ally cards in mono white 5 of which are pretty strong. And white with a 2nd color splash is also easily feasible. For Limited it's strength is entire based on whether you have other allies, a 1/2 which grows is good, but just a 1/2 is mediocre. Constructed again depends of whether the ally decks are actually any good, particularly in comparison to white weenie variants and other similar decks.
I like your way of thinking! I find it funny, before the freeblade came out, many were saying allies would not be able to make constructed play. Now that we have the 1 drop ppl were asking for, many are like, "allies MUST be played!" this is the kind of stuff that make designers worry about balance. And i wonder about the faces made when R&D sees such a response like this. I imagine there was nothing else that could be done for a 1drop ally so they settled with this. I see Freeblade ending games with minimal support (kabira evangel, kazandu blademaster, join the ranks, and brave the elements in the same deck), and yes ondu clerics and the rest of those 'maybe' cards belong in sb i feel.
EDIT!!!!: Doing the math, if you face no delay (unlikely i know), But it's gg by the time you have mana for join the ranks... Freeblade, Blademaster, Evangel, Ranks= gg. wow. This is faster than current RDW i believe which takes 5-6 turns... Is this a problem?
Well hello Big Mammeh Novuh. I'd like you to meet your mindless spawn, Dauntless Escort and Quasali Pridemage. =] They are happy to assist you on your rampage to the front yard of my enemy planeswalker.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
I do not think that its creature type being wurm/worm automatically makes it green. Also, as stated above there is no way to tie its ability into green, which is a problem.
My only problem with the card is how the heck is it green? I can see it being mono-white or white-red/white-black, but do not see why green was needed in the cards mana cost (as green almost never ever gets any form of creature kill).
Gold card=combining abilities from two colors
Hybrid=can only have abilities shared by two colors
The white part of the card blows the board up, the green part of the card is a 7/7 for 7cmc.

duh forgot about brave the elements. this could easily replace vines of vastwood in my WG ally deck, expecially since most of the time i dont use the kicker. so i could keep the same idea in my ally deck, just remove the survivalist and the token creature and i will be set to go.

The white part is the Wrath. The green part is the creature being "indestructible" from its own Wrath effect. It's only not indestructible for balance (making it more removable), otherwise it probably would simply be indestructible and proc Day of Judgment on attack.

The problem with ramping to the Wurm is you lose all your mana dorks on your first attack. If he gets answered during his attack, you're starting over too, and probably quite a bit behind on card advantage. So keep your Vines of Vastwood and other such things at the ready.
Also, the size makes Stone Idol Trap rather hilarious, as it can block, but not kill the Wurm.
Ally seems ok. The problem with Allies before now wasn't so much that they weren't efficient, as some of the white and green ones were fairly well costed for what you got, but that you had to play too many colors. With each color having 4-6 allies, and at least a few interesting playables, a 2 color ally deck has a chance to form. Probably not tier 1 potential, but could be fun at an FNM.

Is the point of a game to win or have fun?
Hilarious. I didn't realize there were going to be any multicolored cards in the set, but I'm glad to see a few, like in Lorwyn.

To have fun. For some people, though, winning is how they have fun.
Plenty of folks think white weenie is fun. And think Allies are fun. I think Allies are fun.
