Speaking of nulls, I can't believe they actually made a card worse than Scathe Zombies, directly after the core set with a better replacement for Scathe Zombies!
says WotC employees at gencon. They talked about traps without costs, in worldwake, they act like traps in that they flip up when certain conditions are met.
Oh great, because machine translations are always foolproof. See, for example all of the early foreign spoilers for any set ever. ... wait ... nuts ...
I'd put almost no weight behind any speculation on this image. It's part of one picture from one card. It's pointless to guess anything at this point.

I really hope they're joking about that.

I'm normally someone who rolls there eyes at the people who complain that Magic is becoming Yu-Gi-Oh but even I have to say WTF at this news.
Even if they are written as
Morph: opponent summons a creature to the battlefield
they would still be the same thing as Yu-Gi-Oh trap cards.
*facepalm*

I don't think it'll be a cost...more of an ability. You can't force your opponent to cast a creature spell.
Given that what you describe does not, in fact, actually work with the trap cards which exist, and was described as a rejected design possibility for trap spells in Rosewater's Zendikar preview article, I'm going to suggest that you are mistaken here.

I didn't mean that they actually had the subtype of trap. And wasn't this talked about from employees at gencon? It was mentioned on this website when FTV: Exiled was the talk of the mill.

I can't believe they're bringing back MORPH without CREATURES.
Has this been spotted yet? Would seem to be the answer to the question about which mechanic they were bringing back in altered form.
EDIT: Seems pretty unlikely if it was rejected. Would be a pretty neat way to illustrate the trap mechanic, though.
And wasn't this talked about from employees at gencon?
There was some baseless speculation and some false rumors!
Think about it: why would WotC employees at Gencon be freely revealing mechanical aspects of Worldwake when they were specifically not allowed to discuss what was going to be in Zendikar above and beyond the four cards included in the Planechase boxes?

We already know that the mechanic that clue refers to is Kicker, that wording doesn't really work anyway, and even if it did nobody would be surprised since they alreadydidthat in Future Sight.

I should've paid more attention to the thread then, thanks charlequin for making things clear.

Please, accept that Magic costs money to play, and drop it. A playset of Baneslayers>playset of duals. New Jace>Force of Will. Etc... Not to mention, Legacy is so wide open, that it's easy to build a deck that can perform reasonably well without very many "money staples" at all.

I agree. I'd love to see Soul Collector in standard again, especially with the abuse she would see.

Not this **** again.
Let's see:
Yu-Gi-Oh! - 1
Magic - 1,000
Get over it.
Well technically Yu-Gi-Oh is the one who deals with 4+ digits.

Yu-Gi-Oh: The Gathering cometh.
Oh god that would make Bloodghast annoyed.
But who knows, they arent exactly the same, and she does seem to have the red face paint that the new Vampires have. A guy can dream though can't he?
