We dont have something like signets to make it really playable..
On the other hand 5 mana for 4/4 instant speed might not be bad after all.
And the red trap i dunno,only draw spell we've seen that draws 3 is the sphinx.
It doesn't have to draw three, it only has to draw 2 on their turn. (this counts the draw for their turn, so it works with the common expedition)

Green absolutely loves to have a million forests out at a time, and for only G, instantaneous blanchwood armor could be huge. Lategame thats an easy "G: +8/8 instant" which can win a game on its own. Excellent for recovering from getting all your major creatures slaughtered via counterspells / removal, and being left with just a cobra or birds of paradise or something. I'd easily put 4 of these in my elf decks running skyshroud claims in casual
Heh. As if the lifelands, the trilands, and the M10 duals weren't enough nails in the borderposts' coffin. The beast trap is HUGE. It's also good enough for Eternal/Extended formats too, with all the moxen and artifact lands. 1G for a 4/4 is wicked good.

I'd like the Baloth trap more if it was 3G, trap cost G, and made a 3/3, but I guess they didn't want to punish borderposts. Also, 3/3 isn't really big enough to be a beast.

The red and green traps are both decent. 1G for a 4/4... Probably going to see play in extended. It's not like 3GG for a 4/4 with flash is that bad anyways.
Primal Bellow- in a mono green deck particularly one with rampant growth effects this could quickly get much more powerful than giant growth, limited solid pump, constructed requires an as yet unmade green stompy deck to be viable.
Baloth Cage Trap- an instant speed 4/4 for 5 mana is good, and getting the 4/4 for only 2 if your opponent plays an artifact is even better. limited solid, constructed potentially viable, particularly in older formats where artifacts are much more common.
Ruinous Minotaur- a 5/2 for 3 is pretty good and sacrificing a land whenever it hit's isn't a big deal since it hits for 5, limited solid, constructed doubtful thanks to the 2 toughness.
Runeflare Trap- it's a Sudden Impact for 2 extra mana, but which punishes opponents drawing a lot by costing only 1 mana to trap. Limited okay as a source of damage, constructed doubtful.
Am I the only one who likes the beast trap because it doesn't cost 0 to activate?
If it did cost 0 to activate imagine what it would do to Affinity? I mean as is its already a pretty good hoser (play a seat of the synod I get a 4/4 for 1G) sounds pretty good to me this is going to be played in a lot of different decks depending on how popular the borderposts are
