am i the only one who thinks this land is amazing?
Yes.
While I believe it is fine in limited, I can't see this having a place in constructed. Mono-White would rather have plains to activate Emeria, and two color decks would much rather have the ETBT uncommon duals.

This may be the blue one, but should say "nonland permanent" or it can untap itself

That seems more blue to me.
When ~ ETB target creature gains lifelink until end of turn.
When ~ ETB target creature gains vigilance until end of turn.
So a pack of zendikar could looks something like this: Harrow, filler, filler, common land, common land, land quest, filler, filler, guy, quest, uncommon land, uncommon land, crap, fetchland, basic land. EXCITEMENT
Whoa! I, too, get giant boners from complaining about set that are, all things considered, totally awesome! I thought I was the only one until today.
Oh wow. I have a feeling Zen is going to be a TERRIBLE set to draft. So much land, it would be possible to draft ONLY land. Yeesh. Creatures will be at an all time premium.
The land itself is meh. Good in limited, I don't see it being played in constructed. I can see this in Precons later too.
Thanks Metallix (and petitrascal). Nice to see another common. Might be good in a slower control build, but it still seems weak. I will say that I was hoping for slightly better lands in the land block.
I'm not really a fan of the card, either. It seems very boring and the over-lap with the refuge lands is painful. However, R&D puts a lot of time in to making a set. I can only imagine the other ideas they had for the white land and how they were either even more boring than this (would be surprising, I know), or were a bit too broken for a common cycle. I'm not impressed, but I won't fault them. As Surging_Chaos said, common filler is common filler.
As for MajoraX's land, I don't think having the non-land clause is necessary. If you need the white mana immediately, it can untap itself and give it to you, but you can use it for much trickier things. I like the design, and while it may fit in blue flavor-wise, I think it might have been better in white because it plays better with creatures. -Jack
This is a common land with a simple design. It can't get more complicated than that as a common. Yes it could have a better effect. But since it's common, that's out of the question.
Personally I think this card is just fine.
Too bad these common lands don't have basic land types, that would have made them awesome with the fetchlands.
Is a blue-white control deck packing 16 "lifelands" viable? During the 5 first turns it would gain ~3-5 life, which could offset some of the tempo loss. Probably still not worth it though.

Skip to the end of the pack and work your way backwards?
When ~ ETB target creature gains lifelink until end of turn.
When ~ ETB target creature gains vigilance until end of turn.
When ~ ETB target creature gains first strike until end of turn.
When ~ ETB put a 1/1 soldier creature token into play. (This one would have been a great way to illustrate the short term vs. long term aspect of red and white, but no.)
why couldnt this common cycle have had basic land types tacked onto them, lolz the Shadowmoor cycle was even more interesting than this and they had basic land types. As it goes only teetering peaks looks ok.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
Its a common non-basic land. They are trying to show basic affects from the different colors with these lands. Gaining two life off of a land, and a common land especially is fine. You cannot honestly expect that you are going to get a 1/1 token from a common land do you? If this was an uncommon land I could possibly see getting a 1/1 token, but even then it might be pushing it.
I dont know why people always seem to think that lifegain is so terrible to get from cards. Especially from a common land.

I'm guessing 30 seconds for design, 1 minute 30 seconds for name.
