I may have to buy a fat pack and a box.... Does anyone think that these lands will be worth the high price like the un-lands? Or will they be normal because you can get them in boosters? Furthermore, who thinks that they will continue to do lands like this? Judging by the success i've noticed so far (in this thread) they will have make them a regular thing. Sucks for someone who shelled out 50-70 bucks to un-land their EDH deck :S
EDIT: Are these going to be in every booster pack? Or will you have a 1 in 5 or what ever chance to get them? I think it would be better if they weren't in every booster. that was there is actually some value to land cards...
Since Unhinged was silver-bordered it didn't sell nearly as well as most sets; hence, the lands are rarer and more valuable. I would expect these lands to be around the 25 cent to 50 cent range.

Limited enthusiast, Legacy miser, and begrudging Commander.
Does anyone think that these lands will be worth the high price like the un-lands? Or will they be normal because you can get them in boosters?
The unlands are valuable for several reasons, including how good they look, rarity and uniqueness. This takes away some of the uniqueness, but does not change the fact that the unlands are still gorgeous pieces of artwork, and are likely to remain significantly rarer than these will be, due to the aforementioned availability in fat packs and booster packs (as I've noted several times, a single fat pack should contain 48 of these; 1 of each art + 8 random ones found in the boosters).
Furthermore, who thinks that they will continue to do lands like this? Judging by the success i've noticed so far (in this thread) they will have make them a regular thing. Sucks for someone who shelled out 50-70 bucks to un-land their EDH deck :S
I sincerely hope they continue to do it in later sets, perhaps even re-release some of the older arts in the core sets with the new full frame, which could be amazing to see, especially for older arts that are good looking and haven't been foiled to date. Same as my answer above; the older lands remain old, highly sought after, and who knows, perhaps the full art look will drive UP the value of the unlands, as more people might suddenly become interested in that art style, and thus look to get some from a variety of sets. As with all things collectable, the value associated is not intrinsic to the item, but to the perceptions of those who treasure it. You said that it might suck for someone who shelled out 50-70, when there is a non-zero chance they might just be patting themselves on the back for saving a few bucks buying them while the cards were 'cheap' if interest spikes significantly.

They will be in every booster, and make up the lands found in the fatpack, according to the article. And it's BASIC LAND, it doesn't need to have some artificial means added to it to make it "valuable", it's a snazy art style that they've done in a highly limited form in the past, and as someone who missed both Un-sets due to dropping in and out of the game now and then, I can't wait to crack some packs for these (and other cards, of course) rather than just putting all the basic land in a pile to be tucked away somewhere or thrown out.
Not to be too harsh, but even as a collector with a number of valuable cards, I think it'd be in WOTC's best interest to make these common and thus make every pack feel a little more special, rather than make it "the next mythic rare, but with basic land, ha ha ha ha".
Wait... theres going to be 8 arts per color? Isnt it usually just 4? Meaning you would get two of each art?
I don't know, but Fatpacks have had 40 land in them for years now, so it seems like a safe bet. Pardon my presumption, just making an educated guess, but I should've prefaced that it was speculation as opposed to stated fact.

What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about, but there's only going to be 4 artworks for each basic land, but each basic land will have a normal version and an extended art version.
People are forgetting that these will be as easy to get as any other land is now. Crack a pack, get a land. What will be interesting is to find out if the "regular" boardered lands in the intro packs will be worth any extra as they won't be as easy to track down unless you buy an intro pack or know someone who did. Yes, these are nicer... but not so hard to get as lots of people buy boxes and fat packs.
I'm not really sure what you're talking about, but there's only going to be 4 artworks for each basic land, but each basic land will have a normal version and an extended art version.
I'm hoping that we'll just get 2 of each art with minimal text, rather than one of each in the fatpacks (assuming they stay with 40 land in the fat pack, that is).

oh, really? only some will have full panel? that's not as cool as i thought. i was hoping that all the lands would be full panel. i don't really see the point of non-full-panel. it's just a land; might as well utilize the space for the art. it's something to look at when waiting for an opponent to make up his/her mind.

Man, seriously? That would suck. Ill still probly get a fatpack, but thats really to bad if thats the case.

anyway, i can't wait!!!
Wait, you're confused. According to the link in the OP, if you buy a booster pack or a fat pack, these are the lands you get. You open an intro pack, you get the new art in the regular boarders.
These new lands actually really annoy me. I enjoyed being one of the few people in my area who had complete playsets of unhinged land to make my decks look really nice. Now, they will be all but worthless.
From what I've read, unless you buy an Intro Pack you will not ever see the boring style of basic lands for Zendikar. Which is a great idea, it keeps them harder to get but still easy. Wonder why they didn't keep this a secret, it seems like something they would do.

Ask yourself this; would you trade a playset of these lands for a playset of un-lands?
No?
Why not?
There's your answer as to why these don't make your un-lands "worthless".
Alternatively, if you would do that trade, let me know and we'll work something out.
they are cool except the arts suck. I will be sticking with my tempest (and Ice age and mirage) basics because they are the best looking and have rules text; you know "T: add X to your mana pool." if they ever did tempest lands in this format id be tempted to switch over to all foils.

So you basically want to be one of the only people with extended art lands, and that's why you hate this. No offense, but that sounds kinda greedy.

Someone said that there would be one of each art in the 40 pack, one regular and one extended of each.
But I guess thats wrong? Its all extended?
Correct. The only way to find the old style is the Intro Pack.

No, people confused what I said to be only about the fat pack. Here's the way it goes:
Zendikar will have four of each basic land, just like any other large set.
Unlike other large sets, Zendikar will have a standard format and extended art version of each of these lands.
The standard format version lands are only available in intro packs.
The extended art version will be available in booster packs and fat packs.
What this means is that the 40 card land insert in the fat pack will only include the extended art lands, 2 of each.
