Limited bomb, but way too expensive for constructed. Very nice design though!
Too Expensive? If I were playing a ramp deck, I would be perfectly content playing 6 mana for this guy, a creature that makes all of my ramp spells still relevant after turn three.
Oh man, at first i was "Ok, big body if you drop land for a swing, but compared to the other ra... oh, it's an uncommon?" And the realization hit me for draft. Wow.

Decks
Commander
Ezuri, Renegade Leader (Aggro/Combo - Favorite) Skullbriar, the Walking Grave (Sac and Grave hijinks) Azusa, Lost but Seeking (Landfall hijinks) Kaalia of the Vast (Heavily modded)
That is a large enough boost from each land to maybe edge this guy into standard play.
+4/4 is ridiculous. You can kill the opponent with Harrow! +2/+2 would have been reasonable on an uncommon and would have still been decent. This guy one shots people like nobody's business.
I fully expect Mana Ramp to be a workable archetype. You can ramp up to this and Rampaging Baloths. If Ravenous Baloth gets reprinted as speculated there's not much this deck will lose to.

But how many of those spells are land fetchers, and how many are non-land permanents like birds of paradise and trace of abundance? By the time you get to 6, you've already expended a lot of ramp spells and it might be a while before you see another rampant growth or harrow. I'd rather pay 5 for Thornling, which at 6 mana you can cast and protect from removal, or wait for 2 more mana and play Bogardan Hellkite.
even though I'd hate to see this as a rare in my packs, what the hell were they thinking giving it uncommon rarity? a single harrow makes this thing win the game, and 6 is not an unresonable amount of mana to get to naturally in limited.
I might just be hyped up, but isn't this thing definately first pickable? at the least it'll be an 8/8 most of the time.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
Combined with mana ramping, both to get it out early and to get extra landfalls...wow...that's a monster. With this and rampaging Baloths, I think I may start bringing out the Timmy in me again that's been begging to be released. From the look of it, this will be a fun set.

From what I can tell of your argument. Every creature that is printed without pro white is Meh. Just because Path to Exile exists doesn't mean that a creature card can't be good.
One small thing about this card that bothers me is that. Wouldn't the name flow better as Woodcrasher Baloth. The four that have seen print before have all had names that were ______ Baloth. I wonder why this one is the other way around.

Do I expect this will come up every game? HELLS NO! That is the god hand strategy man. That is why I suggest merely the 8/8 Trampler maybe all your fruits of your toil that turn instead, the 32/32 one is a bit extreme (it could possibly one shot a player in THG and that life total is 40, this could happen but rarely with nothing but sheer luck).
That plane vallas or something (is basically Valhalla plane) like that could make that happen.
Now if we had Berserk in T2 (Although that will never happen) the max from a very very very rare chance of 36/36 Trampler increases to 72/36 trampler, or you could just cast berserk because popping 1 fetch land is basically berserk without the side-effect of killing that creature at the end of the turn, though berserk does make this die which is very sad (we will miss you oh Woodcrasher Baloth when you went berserk, those were happy memories)
I would put all the constructed succesful cards that don't fulfill your well-thought process of dismissing this card, but I gotta sleep.
I don't know if this guy will be played, but boy do I like more my Knights of the Reliquary with each passing second...

He eats every living thing out of the lands you drop into play, and thus gets huge off of them! Awesome!
Oh. And he's a bomb in limited, too, I guess. Don't get trapped.

Turn 1: Forest, Birds of Paradise
Turn 2: Misty Rainforest, Rampant Growth -> Forest
Turn 3: Forest, Oracle of Mul Daya, Forest/Misty Rainforest
Turn 4: Forest, Baloth Woodcrasher, (+ another?) Forest/Misty Rainforest.
Turn 5: Forest?, Baloth swings, pop 1-3 rainforests for a +4/+4, or +8/+8, or +12/+12 + Harrow is another +8/+8 bonus equals (First # is Min other is Max) = 8/8 Trampler to 32/32 Trampler.

The irony here is that Path to Exile makes him BIGGER. You build a deck around Landfall and who's going to want to give you a land?
not in zendikar and if someone casts one on my Baloth in a draft or at the prerelease I know I'l be calling a judge?
