fight to the death is just a great name for this card i love what it does... seems good with Avatar of Hope... or any card that gives u that super block effect
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Etherium Abomination just makes me happy. It is like the 200 lb. dude walking down the beach in Miami wearing khaki shorts, a sports team t-shirt, and Crocs. He is there just to remind you that the world is not made up of super models and that there are boring and predictable folks like me out there.
Fight to the Death, I just realized after mulling over the partial spoiler some more, can get rid of the Shroud Wall. So wait till they have a few down and they throw them into block, then let FotD fly! R/W naming convention? FoD FttD next is FnmD I think? FD stands for Friendship Destroyer, 'cuz no one likes their friends after playing against this crap!
Fight to the death is bad as your going to be down a card once playing it (unless you attack with taunting elf or have cheap double blockers, or your playing MULTIPLAYER! OUCH!) although i can see it still seeing limited play because you dont normally mind being down a few cards if you manage to kill your opponents bombs, although terminate is better in my opinion, and its only common
I really like Fight to the Death. In the right kind of deck, this thing is ridiculously one-sided. Fun tricks to use with this include indestructible creatures, creatures that regenerate for cheap or for free (since it still allows regeneration), creatures with Persist, creatures that replace themselves when killed (Tukatongue Thallid and Sprouting Thrinax come to mind), cards that alter how blocking works or force bad blocks... and I'm probably missing a bunch of other nifty tricks or comboes, too.
As for those who complain the card is too situational, you're absolutely right. In fact, the vast majority of cards in the game are situational. That's why you set up your deck to create the situation you need so that you can exploit it.
But my number one reason for liking this card is because it allows for the following multiplayer scenario:
Player A: *declares attackers*
Player B: *declares blockers*
Player C: "You!" *points at Player D* "Bring me the Wall Street Journal! You two!" *points at Players A & B, then taps RW* "Fight to the Death!"

LOLS! Stewie is awsome!
Play it with master warcraft in multiplayer.
Its basically 2 cards and 2:symwr::symwr:WR
"Destroy all the creatures you want."
I really like that it is an insane combat trick in limited and a bad wrath effect for 2 mana. Like, they apha strike you. You assign your smallest men with to block thier biggest men. You play this, then after their surviving creatures assign damage, you play Ethersworn Shieldmage or Angel's Song and prevent all the damage you would have taken. And laugh, and laugh...

both are red/white
both are combat-related instants
the names are similar
both were overrated during rumor season
